[109a] Incorrect Commercial assignments/inventory

I'm having a wierd issue that I think I've seen others mention in the past, but want to make sure.
By which I mean, in my current save which was started on version 1.0.9 (actually 1.0.9a, as charactername implies), I have Lily assigned at a Bar, and she's giving her correct "vendor bark" dialog lines, but she's got the "vendor only sells their personal inventory and not the store's" glitch going on. In that same settlement, Alex Powell is assigned at a Martial plot, but he ALSO has what I think are "vendor bark" lines, and talking to him has him offer the dialog option to Barter too (and HE has a full stock of food).

Is this sort of thing still happening to anyone else?

(side note: is the Vit-O-Matic that hard to actually aim with when used in 'ranged mode' for everyone, or am I just awful with it?)

I am guessing that the Pub I mentioned is using this stool and didn't change the script values in workshopobjectscript or didn't remove it. This is probably why people are seeing this behavior with plots, the wrong use of furniture items. The rub is reporting it to the plot addon author so they can address it.

OK folks I have a feeling I have solved the mystery of the wrong vendor dialog issue on NPC's or dialog as vendor from non vendor NPC's as well, but it will take a lot of help to find all possible culprits.

And yes it is the FURN items on plots that are doing it. Through rigorous testing it has been discovered that IF a plot has a vendor type FURN item on it ANY NPC that gets assigned to it either at the plot level or just uses it as an idle marker will get the vendor appropriate to that FURN's set up.

So here's where the community comes in. Look over all your plots and look for any Furniture or idle markers on those plots that might be named Vendor or something that might indicate it is for vendor use.
Example on The Pub by Ohnno in the Scrappers addon has this Item. It is what is cause a lot of the Clothing/Armor vendor dialog issues. This is only one of possibly many and this agin is where we need your help. Please pass the word as well.

I know but the suggestion to crowd source the work with the help of the community came from King, so here I am. And thank you. Its going to take a lot more testing to see how deep it goes but its a start in the right direction. I hope.
 
ANY NPC that uses or gets assigned a FURN object either at the plot level or just using as an idle marker gets that Vendor dialog and is added to that vendors faction.
If this plot is in a settlement with other bars, ALL bars get the clothing/vendor dialog

Like I said this is just one proven case and there could be gosh knows how many more spread across the addons. We need to find and help this get fixed and it could appear at any level of the building plan. The Pubs stools show at L2 and gets a second at L3 so we need to look att all levels of all plots. I know right.

AND to be clear this is a 1000% serious request

  • Places to look at: Any furniture maker that might be used as a barber or clinic but isn't assigned at the plot level or is on a plot it shouldn't be on like say Organic Collection that looks like a clinic.
  • Custom Vendors also
  • any and all seating
  • and the use of Vendor specific counters as stage items for vendors
  • or even non vendor plots
  • places people stand behind and act as vendors or just kind lean
  • I have also confirmed that one errant marker can even affect vanilla markers of different types causing their workers to get the wrong dialog. That are within the same settlement
If you have Workshop + use Track Owner on any furniture object like this should show you anyone that is somehow assigned to it.

Looks like there might already be a fix of sorts in the works. I'll keep you all posted. But please continue the search so we can help get the real fixes going.
 
Hm, well, this is the commercial plot in that video that was the OP of this thread; and I'm 99% certain I had the same plot built in Sanctuary in that screenshot of Julie Powell I posted the other day too. I can't see anything off about it having just built one again now though... I haven't actually had this bug happen in months, and as I mentioned earlier in the thread I don't even have my old saves to go back to and check.

I think field clinic is out of the question since the whole damn settlement is attracted to the thing 24/7 (had a few of them too cause I love the concept) but I haven't seen any issues with it. Tosser Training was mentioned here a few times though.. I think level 1 has no sitting spots, just a place to shoot.
 
Any ghoul settler I spawn in with cheat terminal automatically becomes a doctor. Probably irrelevant but who knows.
Funny you say that but I noticed that of the times I had this 1 was a ghoul lady 1 a ghoul dude and 1 was a non ghoul. not sure if that matters or not , my assumption is still that they are being assigned to something in one of the plots I use. Specifically the 3x3 farming plot cause when I check assignments the false medic always seems to be assigned to that plot. It’s either that or the 3x3 bunk house cause that the only house built for that settlement.

What's the plot and addon?
 
Just wanted to add that I had this happen with Lacey Buckles. I had her set up her clothing store (that's unlocked once you finish her quest). I came back later to purchase from her and she only had the standard trade item option, no vendor dialog. The female Tenpines settler, the standard vanilla that begins there, has the clothing vendor dialog though. So after reading Din'elen DarkStar's post I checked and that vanilla settler is assigned to an interior farm plot, I believe it's called the Soup Kitchen, it is by Ohnno in the Scrappers Addon. Checked the plot and it has two stools, both with the clothing vendor assign tag. Both stools also are marked (white) assigned. Lacy's store isn't the problem, or Lacy. Look's like I have to go blow up a Soup Kitchen and check any other plots. Thanks to Din'elen for finding this.
 
Is that then even the Problem why this time in my Game the SS2 Tools don't work or Work bad?As example i know 5 Settlers have no Job but when i call with the Tool for Jobless no one come and i get the Message that no one is Jobless (i have now not tested if they have become Vendors). Or my Hud show me all Settlers have a Job even i send 2-3 Settlers just now to the settlement and dont assign them to nothing but Vanilla Assign will do that to any Furniture that Work and if i look with the Crosshair over them they are Jobless.The only thing i see that such Settlers are the most active and run around the entire Settlement and use real much other Plots as idle
And it is not more easy then to try to disable Auto Assignment complete even the Vanilla one then to try to fix all the Addons and there Plots?At least until all Plots are fixed or as option for players that want do all Manual

No anomaly with this plot. Its a really nice plot actually. Love the decorations. The plots in that add on are just so nice.
