Primary Bug Report Plotting the Future - Quest does not advance and Jake locks up after building Agricultural Plot

Just got back from concord, put the farming plot down and he just stands there and stares at it. I feel like it might be related to place anywhere or workshop+?

i am going to test out rolling back to D since i now have quests not triggering the way they should, i will report back soon
Sadly rolling back to 1.0.0d mid-game after saving the game once with 1.0.0e didn't work for me. Going back to a save made with 1.0.0d (or starting a new game with this version) resolved that issue for me.

I noticed this too. I had several plots and was waiting for them to get built (with real time set to on for immersion building) and after many days, the plots weren't built. I was getting annoyed by this so I changed the immersion setting to off for real time building and then I canceled the building of those plots, I then refreshed the plots and they got built quickly. Something is stopping plots from being built and if you keep real time on, it takes a long time so you may never notice that they could be built if you refresh. Also, when I did this for some of the plots, there were other plots which suddenly also got built. Some kind of bug or issue going on here.

on my 2nd playthrough, i m finding issues with this quest as well! As prev i reported 1st The Stranger was stuck in the store (did a moveto player) and fixed him to go to sanctuary!
After i went to sanctuary and talked with The Stranger he told me to build an Agri plot.. but them he just follows me around telling me to drop it in the ground anywhere ... the issue is... the quest didn't updated after the dialog and the menu on workshop didn't unlocked the plot categorie!

So ya stuck... restarting from a 6 hrs in save..... and now it works .. all other saves i did were just the same issue! (did the 1st MM quest)(Brotherhood intro) (a bunch of discovering) and got Darlene companion (Mod) on those 6 hrs...

Sad face.... Oh well at least got it to work... lets hope now it wont lock me out while building the plots

Edit:
It did broke down on the Building as well! He would finish build and just stay there doing nothing....

^FIXED By moving him to me on top of the plot

Having gone through every single mod on my load order individually the culprit for me was Settlement Limits Slashed, what ever the script in that mod does messes with the scripts of SS2 I assume and is causing most of my problems, using a save which never had the patch from that mod applied works fine with every other mod I have. Im hoping there is a way to reverse the script from that mod because Im like 50 hours in on this save :(

I don't know exactly what your issues were, but plots not building has nothing to do with that mod I think. I don't use that mod and I have seen reports from other people with plot issues too.

It was that mod, for me at least, but thankfully I was able to get it working but turning off respect Build Limit in the SS2 settings. Which I thought I had done before but apparently I had not. Most of you probably already have tried but if you haven't try that setting.

Thank you, used your information and it did not work for me. I had been having some issues since Windows did an update. I found that reinstalling the video driver (already at most recent version) did not help. I had to set all my fallout 4 ".exe" applications to "run as admin". This seems to of taken care of all the issues I have had since the windows update. Now SS2 and all my other mods I am using work as designed. There were a few mods that did not play well with each other, but I uninstalled those affected. I only use quality of life mods. Nothing that does not fit with game play or story lines.
Thank you for your help and your time. I learn a lot from veteran players like you.

The only way I was able to fix this issue was by entering the command "ss2_sirick_mq02 35". I also tried disabling, enabling, killing, resurrecting, and moveto and that was the only thing that worked. However, the industrial plot was my next task and after waiting about an in-game day, both in sleep and in game-time just sitting around in the settlement, no unlock of the industrial plot has happened and it is still not showing up in my workshop.

if I remember, workshop framework allows you to do the exact same thing via the new menu added to the workbench, so I'm going to disable Settlement Limits Slashed and update when I find out what happens.

Edit: Yep, that caused it. but since SLS is a glorified ini edit you have to use workshop framework to reverse the change after removing the mod. Once I did that, everything went back to normal. Moral of the story is that SS2 doesn not like it when the limit is set too high, probably an overflow error or somesuch.

My game is just like the OP. I placed 4 2x2 agricultural plot but all he does is follow me a round. First I thought I was just tripping. My settlers start building intstead cause He's bugging out on something. Powerpoles and foundations are bugging out for me too. Kinda sucks that terraforming doesn't work any more.
