What are your essential mods?

Odd, all these fantastic lists and am I the only one who thinks CWSS is a staple? I mean.....bathing? Oh, never mind hahaha. :scare

I'm gonna say: This mod is pretty damned awesome. You can set the showers/toilets/sinks to player-only, which makes a heck of a lot of sense for having a "player area". Bed, bathroom, and random settlers likely won't go into "your" area to use "your" facilities - great immersion in my book.

There are further benefits. Fresh water to drink, having a good long shower that washes off all radiation, followed by a deep sleep in a player-owned bed. Those playing survival-mode will love you and your city-builds for that kind of convenience. Just sayin'.

I'm thinking of doing twin city-plans that I make, one with and one without these. Starting with The Castle, a current WIP.

--edit--
Note that I don't play survival mode, so I'm not sure if the radiation gets washed off there. Is there anyone who is willing to experiment?

--edit 2--
Note again that I haven't checked *all* the showers as yet. I will do so.

I believe CWSS will reduce your rads the longer you are in the shower. There is an option in it as well to increase your rads the dirtier you are. It's also supposed to reduce your chances of getting sick or diseases.

What would be more immersive is if all NPC's would get dirty with time and if showers, baths available, they would be forced to use them. Scurvy is not a laughing matter.

Has anyone tried using Wasteland Codex? Seems like such a great mod to walk/explore through the commonwealth with as your city's build up. I'm curious on how heavy the script load would be on a weaker system, or a console with SS installed as well.

I have used it before, but it's been a few months. At the time, there was some noticeable lag in the auto play script since you could see a new creature or item and it could take a good 2 or 3 minutes before the audio started up... to the point where you might get a back up of 3 or 4 new entries early on. Always happy to hear some more Storyteller though and it's a fun lore add-on.

This thread is a gift that keeps on giving... :)

Quincy was rather traumatising (I should never have given Deacon those grenades). I might have a look at this, just to get my personal revenge on the Gunners:

City of Quincy

Thanks so much for the feedback. That was something I was a little nervous about and I don’t need scripts getting backed up while running SS.

From @RayBo elsewhere:

“IMHO, this is the most profound mod for any builder of vanilla assets.

https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/26028

now you can space near anything.”

There is a version in there that is non-DLC.

So much to look at, test, and add...No time, no time! :grin

I use Workshop Rearranged and the snapping steps are in it...

WR, G2M, Woody's, Kraggles, Nuka Shopper's paradise, CWSS, GroundedWR, Not your Average Neon, Gruffy's, are most of the mainstays...

Other good ones is Functional Objects... Sandbag Fortifications....

NonBuilding - FSM, Atomic Beauty, 2pac, Lazman's, TERA, :) etc...

One thing that has always bugged the hell out of me: you can strip the clothing off a dead corpse in Power Armor, but the damn frame itself is un-lootable.

I will try this with dead enemies (BoS!) and see what happens.

My goal in life is for you to hit the 255 limit. Then, never look back :lol

I think that I’m around the 40 mark at present.

After I’ve looted the Prydwin, we will see how far I have to go. :grin
