Hey everyone.
I am absolutely and completely in love with Sim Settlements. I'm late to the party but catching up.
I decided to play through Fallout 4 again, this time with the game modded. At Obsidian we have a very special internal build (think pre-modded) of Fallout New Vegas that I spent entirely too much time playing. Sadly we don't have one knocking around for Fallout 4!
I'm doing this on Xbox One for a couple reasons:
- We have 3 Xbox's floating around the house which means once I setup my mod list on all them jumping around to play in whatever room (Office, Upstairs TV and Downstairs TV) I'm in is a snap.
- My wife enjoys watching me play, she doesn't enjoy pulling up a desk chair in my home office and watching me play on the PC.
So this limits my pool of mods I have to choose from and also how much I can install thanks to the 2gb limit.
The modded experience I am looking revolves around Sim Settlements, Immersion, keeping Vanilla feel intact, lore friendly and polished. This play through will be done on Survival mode, as usual.
All that being said I am looking for suggestions and feedback on my proposed modlist. I've dabbled with some of these mods in the past and some of these are new to me. I am also looking for known trouble makers: As a game developer I know how much of a pain of ass it is to mod, I appreciate the time and effort that goes into modding, that being said not all mods play well together or do well on the Xbox or just have spent enough time in the oven, I'd like to avoid that, as my time is pretty limited for playing.
Without further ado my Modlist! (Also a Google Doc version because that has hyperlinks active already) (I lied, no link, apparently my post like ration needs to be 1% and it is currently 0%)
Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch [UFO4P] [XB1]
(For Obvious Reasons always included)
Sim Settlements: Three In One [XB1]
(Why I'm posting here!)
True Storms: Wasteland Edition (XBOX) - Storm
(A ton of added immersion and I love fighting ghoul hordes!)
Sim Settlements - IDEK's Logistics Station [XB1]
(This sounded like a neat solution to supply lines that ties in with SS)
NPCs Travel [XB1]
(Well recommended looks clean, with little script usage, makes travel in Survival much more interesting)
Craftable Turret Stands
(I love this simple and very useful mod)
[XB1] Manufacturing Extended
Manufacturing Extended Expanded
(I've never used these but I like the idea of them)
Settlement Menu Manager [XB1]
Sim Settlements Mega Pack Year One - Full
(Hand in hand with SS, but almost 3/4 of the mod storageis gone now!)
BS Defence - UFO4P
(I like the way the changes sound, especially in survival when running back isn't always feasible)
Salvage Beacons [XB1]
(Love the functionality of this)
Campsite (XBOX) - Simple Wasteland Camping
(A must have for Survival, simple to use, heavy on the mod storage though)
Uncapped Settlement Surplus [XB1]
(Really looking for suggestions on the limits here to make this less "cheaty" feeling. Unlimited on everything just seems like too much and Vanilla makes surplus very unrewarding)
Locksmith - Lock Your Doors 'N' Containers!
(Love the ability to lock out the Settlers from my boxes of good guns and ammo)
Icebreaker Settlements - Settler Dialogue Overhaul
(Sounds great for when exploring my SS settlements)
Everyone's Best Friend (Dogmeat + Companion At
(I always thought it weird he counted a full companion, needs to be loaded before survival options to prevent some conflicts)
Give Me My Bottle Back
(Always good to recycle, especially in survival)
Weapon Drop Standalone
(love the immersion factor of this one, simple and easy to use)
K-9 Harness - Tactical Body Armor And
(Makes Dogmeat a little more useful as a companion, and it looks cool. Feels a little out of place though)
Vertibird Travel From Prydwen [XB1]
(Needed for survival to save on some grenades)
Lone Wanderer Fast Travel [XBOX 1]
(lore friendly way to fast travel to certain areas, and it has costs)
Lone Wanderer Fast Travel - Far Harbor
Lone Wanderer Fast Travel - Nuka World
RESPEC Holotape [XB1]
(In case I make a mistake leveling up)
Faded Glory - A Post-Apocalyptic Soundscape
(Love the added music tracks for this one)
True Storms: FAR HARBOR Weather Add-On
Visible Galaxy 4k Dim
(Wish it was still a bit dimmer, but with almost night pollution now you should be able to see a good night sky despite ambient humidity)
Reverb And Ambiance Overhaul - ALL DLC
(This one sounds very cool in my tests. Gun fights while traveling have a very cool distant effect to them, and explosions feel like explosions)
[Dn-0-Ts] Darker Nights For True Storms (Level 0 -
(I like my survival difficult and justifies the flashlights)
[Dn-0-Ts-Fh] Darker Nights For True Storms With Far Harbor (Level 0 - Darkest)
[Dn-0-Nw] Darker Nights For Nuka World (Level 0 - Darkest)
PhyLight
PhyDark (192)
(I like my survival difficult and justifies the flashlights)
Place Anywhere [XB1]
Generally unused expect for certain circumstances where I should be able to place something can't; I don't go crazy with it)
Settlement Management Software (XBOX Edition)
(Really only used so I can see each settlements attack spawn points and set up defenses accordingly.)
Finch Farm And Graygarden Overpass Lifts
(simple and fun, might clash with some city plans though?)
Outfit Switcher [XB1]
(I switch around clothing a bit depending on what I am doing, this makes it enjoyable, gotta have that high charisma to save dem caps!)
KeyNuker And KeyRing - Hidden Keys By Lyravega
(Cleans up some inventory clutter)
HUDFramework [XB1]
Immersive HUD (IHUD) [XB1]
(Love the clean screen that this delivers)
Improved Map With Visible Roads [XB1]
(Makes the pipboy map very usable)
Service Rifle
(Sorry, not sorry, my favorite gun from Fallout New Vegas I need to have it, but boy is it expensive)
[XB1] Pip-Boy Flashlight - Small
[XB1] Tactical Flashlights
(Need these to explore my much darker wasteland, inside and out)
Legendary Power Armor [XB1]
Legendary Helmets [XB1]
Legendary Robot Armor & Weapons [XB1]
(So happy to find Legendary versions of these now!)
Weapon Mod Fixes - GOTY [XB1]
Cut Weapon Mods Restored - GOTY [XB1]
Increased Weapon Mod Distribution - GOTY [XB1]
(These seem pretty cool)
Legendary Robot Armor & Weapons - Far Harbor
Legendary Power Armor - Far Harbor Compatibility
Changeable Armor Sizes - XBox One
(I'm not sure why you can bulk up your armor in the Vanilla game. Happy I can now)
Backpacks Of The Commonwealth
(Very useful for Survival mode. Also looks cool)
[XB1] Holstered Weapons By Azar V1.5
(Because I use the backpack mod I have this to put some holstered weapons on companions, and a 10mm on my hip. Because it is used for only that, I am considering cutting it)
[XB1] STS - All-In-One
[XB1] STS - Extras - Living & Dead - Season Pass
(I've used this a few times and have always had no bad results from it, unlike other scrapping mods, which eventually ruin my game. That being said, this time I only plan to use it to delete those pesky dead bodies and ash piles that enemies like to leave behind that never go away otherwise)
Better Settlers XBOX
Better Settlers XBX MORTAL Pack
(Goes hand in hand with SS)
Survival Options[XBox 1]
(Only picking this up so I can have it auto save every half hour. As much as I enjoyed the thrill and challenge of survival mode the first time I played through, and got 100% achievements on survival mode, with as often as this game crashes without mods; with mods I need something to save my precious real life time)
Those are my thoughts and reasons for the mods I have selected there are more I want, but I think I am clocking in at around 200mb extra space here for mods.
Let me know what you think!
