Sounds like you suffered from the issue I had on v1.0.0a. I was playing around with the holotape settings and the holo stuck on, the 2 HUD menus were off and nothing was able to be changed. Then I watched Raybo's vid and setup the hotkeys, Now the HUD meters show up when I tell them to. I actually like it better that way.I started a new game last weekend, and so far, I have a HUD. I have been afraid to even look at the settings, in case that buggers it. With the way SS2 plots require food, power, water and defense, the HUD is critical. I'm hoping it stays. So far, the only buggy bit was in the Hub of the Problem quest, but I got it sorted by loading a manual save just outside the building a few times.
Yesterday I fix it (almost) reinstalling the HUDFramework mod, the DEF_UI compatiblity patch and DEF_UI...as before, the panels blink and go, but show up with hotkeys, and as usual, not return after the workshop mode.I have the same problem: "one-blink-and-never-return panel".
I can "fix it" by not loading a custom DEF UI preset, but my screen is filled with the "no XML file" message.
They are not going to update a framework unless it needs it. 90% of the HUD problems are script lag. Personal testing has proved this time and again. Stuff don't work, so I go do something else for a while (I actually physically leave the computer) I the come back some time later (like after having lunch) and things work fine again. With all the scripts and black magic running in the background, we should all be bowing to Kinggath in awe that it works at all!yeah i had the HUD issue in SS1 too.
So i am starting to wonder if the problem is hudframework being overloaded.
last time it was updated was in 2017 so i have a gut feeling that something in it has broken with the current game versions.
that is true however it has to be said that the biggest script consuming mod out there is Simsettlements. They are not going to update a framework unless it needs it. 90% of the HUD problems are script lag. I think the only thing that would fix script lag is an engine overhaul... IIRC Baka and Buffout only address the script data limit.that is true however it has to be said that the biggest script consuming mod out there is Simsettlements.
This is why i wonder if there are any methods to fix the scriptlag beyond Baka which is for some reason not enough to get the hud working
It would only be Papyrus that needs to be fixed, that thing was written nearly 20 years ago and it is still ticking.I think the only thing that would fix script lag is an engine overhaul... IIRC Baka and Buffout only address the script data limit.
And it has been in the Intensive care unit on life support for the last 10...It would only be Papyrus that needs to be fixed, that thing was written nearly 20 years ago and it is still ticking.
just that its not ticking fast enough anymore.
I had the same exact problem, turning in on fixed it.I do... oh christ, don't tell me thats a factor >_<
