Stuck on State of War

I can't find a gunner outpost to capture. I think i may have already took back all the territory they took from me before. Is there a list of outposts? Every place I try to assault is either mutant hounds or raiders?

I checked my save files I did not have any strange looking scripts that may be running to long. I may have found were the problem is coming from both the settlement assault quests "WSFW_AssaultSettlement_PlayerInvolved01" and the Territory assault quest "SS2_C3_AssaultTerritory_PlayerInvoled01". When theses quest are finishing after an assault one of the stages are getting missed I believe it is not going to stage 1000 after stage 100. If I manual enter each stage in the console commands though stage 1000 the quest completes correctly and is registered by the other quests now.

What is the commands we need to enter to complete the stages? Thanks

The reinforcements spawned over by the Atom cats garage and then on teleported to the flag pole about every 20 seconds
I had them doing that myself in one of my own attempts yesterday; I was taking Suffolk County Charter School, and judging by the map marker the incoming reinforcements spawned inside Vault 88 (where the Sentry Bot parked just inside the door should've easily taken them out) and were getting teleported to the flagpole every so often just as you describe. One even managed to get a Plasma Grenade off right in the middle of my troops before their Combat AI package even re-activated - it wouldve been a 0 Injuries Assault until that.

Horray! The hot fix helps so much with this now, so now Gunner territories are marked on the map with a Military mission at HQ. My quest hasn't updated from 0/3 but I know people have been saying it's slow to update, so I'll just wait it out. I did get a call from somebody after the first one, but I got stuck cause I couldn't select any dialogue options. Had to go into the third person to get myself unstuck but it stopped the call, hopefully that didn't break anything x'D

Properly knowing the Gunner territories made me realize something I didn't know before, and in hindsight it now makes sense lol. It won't have Gunners there until after you launch an attack, because the enemies spawn after you shoot the Flare and your troops spawn. I didn't know this, so when I was visiting territories and seeing them empty or with other factions, I should have tried them anyway! Figured I should bring it up in case anyone else thought the same thing

Thanks to the SS2 team for getting this hot fix out so fast <3 You guys are superstars and I'm super excited to get through the rest of this

It will actually update after you finish that call on your radio. You absolutely need to complete that call in order to advance the main quest.

Thankfully it seemed to update for me despite the call getting cut off. Or will it break something in the future because I wasn't able to select any dialogue? I don't mind having to reload since I know where the territories are now

Yeah. That call will give you another quest not related to taking territories. That quest is an introduction to a key player for the main quest.

Damn okay, thanks so much for letting me know!! I managed to somehow get the call with Salvador to work properly (before you're told to assault the areas north of the river) so I can probably get this one to work too

Try to find a spot without hostiles, or people that may force greet you. I got the call after fast traveling to Warwick, where I didn't have any issues with it working. If I'm remembering right you should get the first call which will send you to a cemetery, followed up by Jake calling in regards to the first call.

Stuck, same quest but later with a different issue. Reached the part where you are suppose to capture 4 areas the Gunners "took" north along the river (Lexington, Federal Rations, Forrest Grove and Oberland). Took all but Oberland because I can't. It's my Outpost Command Center. Which can't be taken. If I use the flare gun it tells me it's an invalid target, it's part of my empire. Yet the quest marker is pointing there and I can't advance the quest. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I am going to test this today, just catching up my current playtest. If you are still stuck here currently, I'll let you know if I can find a workaround (I have some ideas, but I need to try them first).

Dropping this here I did a battle for the FMS Northern Star. The reinforcements spawned over by the Atom cats garage and then on teleported to the flag pole about every 20 seconds, Also had an issue where reinforcements for Hub City spawned in Finch Farms and got stuck there but none of the residents or turrets seemed to attack them. But I too can not find an outpost as i already retook every settlement the gunners took from me, Kingsport, Croup Manor, Sommerville, Murkwater, the Castle and Hangmans Alley. And setting up them as Outposts myself. When back to Sanctuary Hills and the city pop swelled to 99.
Is Sanctuary Hills your Capital City? (If you haven't picked one yourself, a settlement is assigned silently - this can be changed at any time. It might not be Sanctuary, I'm just suspicious due to the numbers). You can check if it is one via the city planner desk, under "manage city" I believe.

If this is the case, settlers will flee from outposts that have been taken over by enemies, and seek refuge in your Capital City. If you've taken all outposts, I'm betting this is what has happened, especially if no other settlements are this hugely populated.

You should get a misc quest objective if a call was interrupted - and should be able to call them back if needed. Did this not work?

The territories updating is annoying and has been a problem for a while, but again, it's on the radar. It tends to resolve itself after you capture 3/3. Otherwise, saving and reloading into that save often updates the number.

I got that call right in the middle of combat. It was only when I was going through the miscellaneous quests that I saw to call that person. Little bit of a shock considering, well, everything that has happened in the last two centuries in the Fallout universe.

Chiming in late to the party. I took The Castle as my Gunner Outpost for the first step on State of War, and it said I completed that step. There is still a quest marker on the Castle but it is an empty square as opposed to a solid square, on a stick. How do I get rid of that?

I can't take three others because I already took back all but two, and anyway those are settlement locations rather than territories as I understand them. I just took back one of the two, and it did not count as a territory. So the advice to take back the initial invasion points does not seem to be accurate. Jamaica Plains was one of the first that I lost, although it was empty, and still is now again.

After the game told me I'd won the battle, although there were still one or two living Gunners, it did the victory spin and then locked me in position to take a phantom phone call from someone I thought was long dead. You'll know who I mean. It ended abruptly and then I killed the last living Gunner.

Am I just supposed to wander around looking for Gunners now? puzzled look

For the person that was thought dead, look under Miscellaneous Quests, the quest to contact said person might still be available. I had an issue where the radio locked up after I had finished speaking to them and Jake started speaking. Reloaded, took the outpost, saved game when dialogue options came up, but no issue the 2nd time around. HQ radio is one of those things that can be glitchy.

Well, I've made progress. Rolled back to a previous save, the counter ticked over after capturing the 3rd territory. Now to retake the locations the gunners took.

Like this one I have here at about where The Slog is? As far as I've seen, those icons are only ever used for markers you placed. If you click anywhere else on the map that isn't a map marker you can fast travel to, you should be able to remove it again, give that a try.

Aha! Yes! Thank you, thank you. It has been so long since I made that mistake that I forgot it made that marker. What happened was that I went to fast travel to the attack site, since I'd been there before, and when it asked me if I wanted to mark it I said yes because I imagined it was asking me if I wanted to go there. Total confusion on my part. And there was a quest marker there so I missed that another marker had appeared. Whew. I'm so glad that is resolved.

Yes hills is my capital city and I turned 2 cities to outposts and recaptured all the settlements the gunners had taken and made then outposts also so i think 7 outposts now. I figures that was why S Hills was so large but wow 99 beds are a pain to place lol . Guess if i start a new playthrough i will not let the settlements get so big, I think I had them all around 30.

Incidentally, taking the Scrap Palace eventually (felt like several hours and save loads later) fulfilled one requirement for taking a Gunner Territory (as opposed to a Gunner Outpost). Presumably Milton Hospital and Mass Fusion Disposal Ground would also qualify but we can't do those just yet because the workaround for the Bethesda location bug hasn't been created yet in SS2. And no, I won't use the UFP.
