[solved] Abernathy Locket Missing.

The abernathy locket for the Abernathy farms seems to be missing from the Olivia base. I have gone there and cleared it with Stranger/Jake but the locket was not where it usually is.
 
Right - so the locket doesn't appear even if you have got the quest already. I've never heard of that happening before.
Does this happen on a clean "just SS2 build"? And does it happen consistently? Is anyone able to check these things? (At least it is near the start of the game)
The locket does appear after you rescue Preston and the survivors without ch 2 & 3 being active. The comm system by the door no longer shows up as well.
 
I have never had that happen and after my first playthrough with ss2 I usually wait until I meet up with Jake before going to Olivia and do both quests at once. Of course, I pick up the locket before I have the quest.
Yeah, I always do it with Jake too. I also get the quest first, since you basically have to walk right through Abernathy after rescuing your settlers from the raiders.
 
I was having this issue when ch 2 & 3 were active.
So to be clear -
Does the locket show up with 2+3 installed if you get the quest first?
Does it always not show up if you don't get the quest first?
Just trying to get a sense of whether or not this is a chapter 3 issue. I've always had the locket show up if I have the quest (and never had a problem getting the quest) with just chapter 2. Is that still the case with chapter 3? (I haven't had a chance to play with chapter 3 active yet).

No it doesn't show up if you do the quest first or not. It does show up with ss2 and ch 2 active. Now that I think about it, I believe 3 is what is causing the issue. That is what starting to make sense.
 
Like many SS2 players, I would assume, I have a habit of going to the Abernathy farm after taking care of the nearby raiders as part of a SS2 quest. Then I get the quest from Blake Abernathy with Jake at my side. The locket would then spawn in the toolbox at Station Olivia as expected, at least when I played with Chapter 1/2.
With Chapter 3 installed, the locket can't be found in the original location, and the quest does not display the marker unless you "restore" the SS2 version of the location, which I think is only possible as of Chapter 3. I don't remember seeing an intercom next to the door before playing with Chapter 3.

When exploring the SS2 version of Station Olivia, you do find the locket in the toolbox, but according to KG, that version is used during Chapter 3 story content.
 
I can confirm this as well. First time playing through with Ch3 installed as well. Locket was not present. I've done the whole sequence. Jake is standing at the comm hub wondering how he's going to drag it all back. I'm going to run back up and use the intercom?? Didn't know it was there. Also, there is an invisible object here:

You can get by it if you crouch and jump and wiggle your way past, but I'm wondering if this isn't also something the ch3 has present but isn't present in the vanilla/pre-ch3 content. Once I go up and reset to the pre-ch3 version of the station, I will come back and check. Hopefully that works for me as well...

Went back in. Locket was present. Whatever that invisible object was it is present in the pre-ch3 version as well, so this is probably some other mod of mine screwing with me and not SS2 related at all. Anyway, locket obtained, hopefully Jake can find his way out of there now.

To add here as I see this is becoming a thing.
Recently had to to guide through a user generating the locket and progressing the quest in console.
Didn't think too much about the potential cause at the time as a lot of issues like these are hard to replicate, but since it's becoming a pattern it seems I figured I'd add.
 
That's always been there with SS2. I don't know why. Maybe to stop the raiders coming the wrong way or something?

Can anybody confirm that the locket works as normal if you get the quest from Blake Abernathy first?
I could be mistaken, but I've gotten the locket many times before talking with Blake about it, though I did run through(discover) Abernathy(which might trigger it, not sure). When I came back to him I had the option about already taking care of some raiders and finding a locket(though I don't have SS2 installed atm) and the load order is fairly heavy on this end.
 
The locket spawn in the SS2 version of the Olivia station interior in my recent playthrought.

I have cleared Olivia with Jake but the locket wasn't there.
I went back to Olivia, activated the "restore the SS2 version of the room" option on the intercom and it was there.
The raiders were there too but not ack-ack.
The layout of the rooms is a little bit different from vanilla too (no hole on the wall, much less clutters).

Edit : clutters/hole is present on reload, so probably some kind of delay while loading the cells on my end.
Console show source as the SS2 plug-in and there are file cabinet clipping throught the comm-hub crate.

I started a test character just to find out as much as possible regarding the Abernathy quest.
I didn’t disable any mods including all ss2 chapters.
I went strai to Olivia and entered the instance without touching the door controller.
everything inside was exactly the same as when Jake would go with you, including the commhub.
The toolbox didn’t have a locket quest or otherwise in it.
After leaving I used the door controller to refresh ss2 content…which seems backwards to me.
This time no locket either… the invisible barrier at the door above the catwalk was there.

Moved to Abernathy farm , got the quest from Blake to get Mary’s locket.
No waypoint is shown even though the quest was active.
So earlier I didn’t find the locket in either of the two instances. But after leaving The second time I changed it back to the original one…
the one with the commhub.
So now I have a quest with no quest marker but I move back to Olivia and enter the commhub version just to test.
‘And no locket.
I the leave and using the door controller to refresh ss2 content a marker appears on the door.
‘This Time the locket is in the toolbox…I return it to Blake. Abernathy and complete the quest.

Second, the locket isn’t in the same instance as the commhub.

In my opinion this is confusing, It seems to me the two instances are mislabe.
Mary’s locket is part of the vanilla unmoded game . Refresh ss2 content doesn’t fit here.
Most players of fallout 4 will figure it out on their own but not all.

In the past, the locket has always been in the same instance as the commhub (I've always got it at the same time as helping Jake). Kinggath cloned the entire cell, which would include the locket.
So it looks like a change made for chapter 3 has altered this somehow.

Sorry, I just started a new game so thought I would see how this played out.
Talked to Abernathy, went with Jake to Olivia, Locket was there.
Went back to save before speaking to Abernathy and didn't speak to him, went with Jake to Olivia, Locket was there.
Went back to previous save, went to Olivia without speaking to Abernathy or taking Jake and Locket was there.
 
so i just encountered this, locket was not in the toolbox. fast traveled around, waited a couple days in game and still not there. used the intercom to gain access to ss2 instance and it was there. hope this helps anyone else having this issue.
