Sanctuary Hills Bugs for RotC

If you uninstall SS, does the crashing stop? If so, you'll likely want to clean save SS out of your save. It's not a great solution, but it's better than losing the character.

We've definitely found that for Xbox, letting the City Plans go past the build limit by much is bad news. I put in all of the confirmation boxes as a stop-gap until we can develop the low-tech versions of them. We're nearly done, but I'm going to let a bunch of Xbox users test the crap out of them before we release them.

I absolutely hate seeing people crashing from this mod and want to do everything I can to prevent it. I'm hopeful the big optimization patch will allow the City Plans to work on Xbox without issue. If it doesn't though, I will likely disable them on Xbox unless the players acknowledge a million warnings and confirmation screens - seeing all of these broken games is horrible. :(

It's on new settlements, I have made a new character for a different mod. after the foundation construction completes, and the plots start being built is when it was happening. I can't think of any of my mods that would be causing it.
 
That's very strange - the foundation levels don't even fill up the build limit - so they should all work fine on Xbox. Going back over your posts, I see you're on the X which should work even better! A few of our testers have been able to successfully run all of the City Plans to level 3 on the X with minimal crashing.

The only thing I can suggest you try, to narrow things down, is to uncheck your other mods on the mod screen and see if SS still crashes you on a new character. That will at least tell us if there's anymore troubleshooting that can be done. I'd also recommend opening a new Bug Report with the results (maybe copy paste my message as part of it). Will be easier for us to keep track of your issue that way.
 
Hi there, I used RoTC on Sanctuary hills but CTD happens while upgrading from level 0 to level 1. And I never enter cinematic mode while it is upgrading.

Action taken:
Refresh the city with city planner
Toogle Tai
Update SS to 3.3.1

As for the crash during the animation, you can disable it in the holotape options. Animations during upgrades takes more resources from your machine, so disabling it might help

Wow, that actually solved my Sanctuary upgrade problem
 
Hello all. I'm running into a CTD issue when storing/scrapping objects in Sanctuary running SS v3.3.1. I saw in a post from Kinggrath that it seems to be an issue with electricity, specifically TVs, and that he had a mod patch that was intended to remove all the TVs but the link doesn't lead anywhere. I have tried a refresh and a full settlement self-destruct but still have the same problem. I unfortunately am playing on survival without a modded save limit and have no saves without this issue. Anyone out there managed to fix this issue?
 
Just a troubleshooting update. I un/reinstalled the game and loaded the save with no mods. Still happening so I think its safe to say its save file related. I believe I've managed to postpone the issue by disabling all auto upgrades. It was quite a trip narrowing down the CTD to buildings in Sanctuary in the first place so I will settle for this until Kinggrath or another can get back to me =)

There is a phantom PA in the left crafting station, that cannot be moved or interacted with, making the station unusable.

Also the boxes behind the right one block you in when you exit the crafting station, making it impossible to leave without fast travel, or getting in the PA.

Also there seems to be no armor crafting bench in settlement levels two and three, despite it being present in level one.

All issues are still present after a refresh.

If someone could help me with this it would be super appreciated !

I cannot upgrade sanctuary hills from level 0 to level 1. I am having problems fast traveling to red rocket as well. At first I had upgrades on manual upgrade and every attempt to upgrade would result in a crash.i attempted the upgrade with and without the cinematic. I gave that up. I took back the city and re-elected the leader again. This time, I set everything on auto build so I would not get in the way of SS. I got the level up bar to 93%. I fast traveled to diamond city. Slept 24 hours and got the notification that there was new construction at sanctuary hills. Fast traveled to sanctuary hills. I arrived to the city successfully, I’m literally right there and I can see that the city has been upgraded andI won! I got really excited... But no, I walk a few steps at the city and crash to desktop again. Now every time I fast travel to sanctuary or red rocket I crash before I even get there. Please help..Thank you so much inadvance
 
It could be a script lag. Too many scripts running at once can cause an overload, so get near the settlement and leave your character there for a few minutes for the scripts to finish, and try again
 
Started a new game to see what all these simple city plans are like. Level 1 of simple sanctuary looks alright generally, but the chainlink fence gate that leads outside the walls from the police station has been covered over by a solid wood wall for some reason.

only for Sanctuary Hills. Basically, I am crashing when approaching Sanctuary Hills, only I can't even get to the bridge before it crashes.

It started working out fine when I first had the mod. But then when I started the city upgrade from 0 to 1, part way through the building cinematic the game would crash. I figured maybe the cinematic mode is causing the crash, so I tried the "closer cam" version and still the same thing.

Unfortunately I did not know that the cinematic mode could be disabled altogether until now, so what I discovered instead that if you hit TAB to open the pipboy, the pipboy comes up, but when you leave it the game enters a loading screen and skips the entire cinematic, but the settlers are still building. If I continued to stay there, I would still crash, seemingly around the same time I would of crashed had I watched the cutscene. So I high-tailed it out of there and let it build, figuring my presence while it's "upgrading" its causing the crash.

I haven't been back to the settlement until today, which is about two week's worth of playing. Since then I have built up other settlements ROTC style. In one settlement I crashed yet again during the cutscene even building the settlement for the first time (level 0), so at this point I just made all upgrades auto, though I didn't seem to crash just hanging around anymore after skipping the cutscene.

I finally tried to return to Sanctuary again and I am crashing once again, consistently. Sanctuary is the only settlement that has reached Level 1. I don't know if this is a bug with Sanctuary specifically, or a bug with upgrading in general.

Unfortunately, I have already tried mod conflicts. I've disabled every single mod I have including .esms and .esls with the exception of Sim Settlements All In One and Hud Framework and I am still crashing. If I disable only Sim Settlements, I don't crash.

There is one thing I should mention, which might have something to do with it. Sanctuary was the first settlement I tried ROTC with, so I was getting confused at first on why I could not get the "Assign Leader" option on the City Planner desk, so I assigned the leader the vanilla way via the Workshop. This worked, but when the first build phase happened, I ended up getting a second city planner somewhere else. You can read the conversation I had with uituit here on the first page of posts in the ROTC mod page.

"I think when the settlement does it cinematic build thing, it creates an "extra" planner's desk, assigned to the leader you chose, but the one "you" built remains where it was, and it remains unassigned with just the three options I mentioned before."

"Ok, found out what's wrong. It's "SKK Quantum Global Workshop" somehow interfering with the menus.

What that mod does is add the ability to link the storage of all settlement workshops, and optionally, ones you find out in the world, even Home Plate's. The storage is then connected to another box item you can spawn anywhere.

The problem is in order to link storage, you have to attempt to enter the crafting menu of said work bench. The game will then mark that workshop after kicking you out of it, then you just use it again and you're good to go with the inventory showing up there.

Problem is linking the city planner desk seems to remove the ability to assign a leader via the desk, again leaving you with only the three menu options I said before. I can unlink benches, but it then unlinks all other workbenches as well, until I redo the process again. That, and it doesn't seem to fix the planner desk. Only removing or scrapping the desk and placing it again resets it with the proper menu choices. Looks like I'll have to create an additional desk if I want to use it's crafting menu and or use it for storage. (Actual storage, not the donation system.)

I don't know why this mod is messing with this mod's menu options, since all it should be doing is changing the desk's storage, not the base functionality."

As a result, I might of reassigned the leader of Sanctuary while he was already the leader in a different city planner because I was looking at the "wrong" city planner and reassigned him. So I'm beginning to wonder if I somehow corrupted it by assigning the leader in a funky way. Either, way, I know how to prevent the issue now as I've already done it properly by just never attempting to craft with the city planner.

I have even tried the remote self destruction command I read about from these forums, but I can't get close enough for the mod to detect it without crashing, even if I don't look at the settlement. I even tried "cqf kgsim_cpmanager ForceClearSettlement 250fe" and while I do get the prompts and confirmation that it's safe to proceed, even after a new save and even a full quit to desktop and load the game again, I still crash.

So I'm at a wit's end at this point as I believe I have tried everything I could think of, other than disabling the mod, clean saving and starting all over. (EDIT: This is no longer the case. I now crash with NO mods whatsoever.)

I have a problem that I CTD when I just leave Red Rocket to go to Sanctuary Hills or even use Fast Travel to either Red Rocket or Sanctuary Hills I CTD. So I researched in the forums something about Scrapall Crash bug but the only thing I can mention is that my problem only occurred after I use console command "Disable" on a floating letterbox name. Could this have started my CTD whenever I approach Sanctuary because the name is a pre-combined mesh?
 
The "Molecular Level" quest when completed with Sturges in Sanctuary breaks RotC in the settlement and eventually crashes the whole game. Everything works great up until I get back from the Institute and go back to Sanctuary. I first noticed that something wasn't right when I used the "Call all settlers" hammer and nothing happened. Eventually it began to affect other settlements as well and I was unable to build a new planners desk to start-up a new settlement.

I googled the issue and saw that someone had mentioned something in 2017 and I did turn off "auto assign unique NPC's" but that did not fix the issue.

I've taken control back from the city planner but that did not fix it either. I've used the "coc" command to get back to sanctuary as soon as I port over to the institute, but whatever causes the problem has already taken effect and sim settlements does not work anymore.

Unfortunately, my only save is after I'd already built all of the teleportation equipment. I tried to destroy it and move Sturges to a settlement that is not running RotC but was unable to do so via console or manually. I even tried to reset the quest, but that caused all kinds of other issues.

Additional info after further trouble shooting: I "markfordelete" all teleportation equipment and rebuilt it at a settlement that was not using RotC. Sturges moved over there. Then I i used to gavel to scrap all of sanctuary. I completed "molecular level" and everything appeared to work. However when I build a new city planner desk and let sanctuary start building back up, it crashed again.

In my previous post about CTD not being able to get near Sanctuary Hills by either walking or Fast Travel I found that I keep getting this warning in MO2:-

What does this mean and how do I fix it? I found out that it is MO2 itself. Just reinstall MO2 again but Run as Administration first before opening the file.

I'm going to use Fallrim Tools and see if this fixes my problem of not entering Sanctuary Hills.

I found that when I CTD it is when Sanctuary Says something about the City major changes and it suppose to go into that flying in the air (I think cinematic shot Kinggath has a video about it).
 
I had to delete my save files because I had CTD on all my save files whenever I ever I tried to get to Sanctuary. But now on a new game my save files are already hitting the 27mb mark and I only just got out of the vault. When in my old save files (there were only two of them 1. inside the vault was 8mb and the other when I exited the vault before I go to Sanctuary was 9mb). What could be causing my save files to be this large?

Sorry for causing problems. I am only new on using Sim Settlements Mod and all it features.
I have Sim Settlements 3-in-1 by the way.
