Question Ophelia Became My Companion?

So, I am on an Xbox One X and during the Doggies quest Ophelia became a companion that can never again be dismissed. Is that supposed to happen?

The whole quest seemed bugged and ever since going to the dead drop for Ophelia after that quest I have stopped receiving new ones. I completed the Ms. Nanny parts hunt, but they never activated the robot. Whenever I see people talking about bugs with that quest they mention Ophelia working on the Ms. Nanny, but how is she supposed to do that as a companion?

Isn't Maul supposed to be a companion after that quest?

Anytime a quest bugs out on me. Base game or mod. I stop roll back my save and replay.

Sometimes coming at the quest from a different perspective helps to get through the quest, sometimes not.

being you are on an Xbox there’s no console command solution so rolling back and replay is my only suggestion?

Shit, I am too far along for that. It seems none of the quest manipulation mods let me roll back mod quests either. Maybe a patch will fix it someday. I've been asking for an Xbox patch that lets you roll back quests, but so far nothing.

not the quest, roll back to an earlier save?
 
you need to make a habit of making a complete save regularly. personally, i make such a save every time i hit a new level. that way, if i need to go back to a previous save for any reason, i'm not losing too much game time.
it sounds, reading your description that the game is possibly broken beyond repair. how it got to that state, i cannot say but i wouldn't waste too much time going further with it, as it seems to be irreparably broken.
as @RayBo stated, your best, and only bet at this point, is to go back to a point in time before this and replay the game and hope that it moves on differently. however, my recommendation would be for you to start a brand new game and neither add, or remove mods from it once you start the play through.
 
My Xbox has limited space for saves and I don't have one to roll back too. Plus, I'm too far along anyway. Would re-installing Conqueror work?

Right now I have a personal guard of nine guys with power armor including Ophelia that I would hate to lose. Is Ophelia even supposed to be a companion? I seem stuck with her.

The Ms. Nanny has now completely disappeared.
 
Well, I was going to have some fun by destroying these settlements with another faction, but when I start an assault the assault mission never starts and the war planner desk always says I have an assault in progress even after 24 game hours have gone by.

I've wasted enough time with this POS, no new game.
 
I managed to find one old save that was from right before meeting Maul. I uninstalled Raider Refugees and that quest ended more smoothly. But now I once again have completed the Outcast holotape request from Ophelia, gotten Maul all his doggies, and turned in parts for the Ms. Nanny. Once Again Ophelia became my companion, Jason just came to work for me, and nothing has happened to the Ms. Nanny.

The Ms. Nanny is just sitting on the floor in Sanctuary. Is this game ruined as well?
 
you can't uninstall mods and continue the game - well you can, but the game is broken.
if you're going to add/remove mods then you really need to start a new game and leave the load order as is.
 
I'm not sure if it is broken this time. I just got three new characters (Jason, Brutus, Torque) but no new quests have started besides defending places and assaults that I start.

What should happen at this point? Should Ophelia ever be my companion?
 
if you removed a mod and continued to play on, then trust me, the game is broken. its not even a discussion point. the game itself is not designed for mods to be removed during a play through. never has been, never will be.

I could have used that information a long time ago. Here I was thinking I could add and remove mods on the fly like Wordpress plugins.

You still never answered my question about Ophelia. If I were to start a fresh game and play it to completion without any problems would she ever become a companion?

I ask this because if the answer is "no" then I know that if she ever starts following me non-stop that the game is broken.

-Finally, I really like what Kinggath and others are doing here. The Sim Settlements, Personal Guards, and attack features are great. They add a really fun factor to the Vanilla game even thought the Conqueror patch is broken. This is why it pisses me off so much to see it stuck because I think if it worked it would be really cool and it is a lot of fun until it breaks.
 
well the game is almost five years old, there are posts all over the internet about adding/removing mods and the effect that has on the game, and indeed these forums are full of posts around the same topic. the game engine is very old, and very flaky.

basically you have to do your due diligence.

in terms of answering your question, ophelia has never been a companion for me in any play through. that's as best as i can answer.

i can't comment on your load order as i don't play on xbox. the one thing i can recommend you do is establish which mods are supported currently, and are maintained, and anything that has been abandoned, or isn't being supported any more should be removed.

lastly - once you have a load order that works - don't add mods and certainly don't remove mods, unless you take backups which you've said previously you can't do.

if the urge to add/remove a mod is too strong, then be prepared to start over otherwise you'll be trying to play a broken game.
 
Now I'm playing a game where I decided not to do any side quests until after getting my first settlement but when I kill Trudy and am told to tell Jammer what happened I can't tell him. When I talk to him he just gives me his spiel about only killing hired guns and asks me what I want to do. There is no option to tell him what happened at the diner.
 
search the forums, i am certain this has been enountered and resolved by other players. however, as you're on an xbox i don't know how relevant those solutions will be.
 
Well, I am done with this POS. I tried another game but the Gunner in the Headless explosive collar mission disappears, so Ophelia departs for SB Checkpoing alone. When I try to find a save to load pre-bug it turns out the XBOX automatically deletes old saves so I can only go back as far as I have to turn in the final resources to her or 5 hours before that. When I go to turn in resources the Gunner is nowhere to be seen.


I captured the Gunner by building a Gunner cage, crouching, activating a stealth boy, and letting the Gunner out of the cage. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. The gunner not being captured in the wild.
 
It is really fucked up that this mod depends on saving often so you can go back and redo stuff when the game automatically deletes those save. I really don't see why they can add a holotape with options to restart or complete quests that are broken.

it seems that you have a lot of issues because you're playing on xbox, however, there are other xbox players out there who don't have the issues you have, so i wonder how much is unique to your environment? impossible to say.
i don't really know what else anyone can do to assist you with your issues, but i would request that you tone down the swearing and labelling this mod a "POS".
If you can't or don't want to play fallout 4 with this mod the way it is set, and respecting the limitations of console play, then save yourself a lot of frustration and delete it from your system and move on.
