Question New comer, please help!

Hiya! So I just started using SS and I’m having some trouble. I was trying to use it and codsworth was bugging out so I couldn’t get access to sanctuary. And then I finally got through that and Preston wouldn’t talk to me after I brought them back from concord. Most of the plots that I just place, besides a couple, are getting stuck in the construction phase. The plaque on the stuck ones just say (Design and all the Addons don’t always show up on the choose building plan menu. I’ve started a new game six different times. The last time I deleted my data and reserved data started the game up without any mods downloaded and went through the missions. then I downloaded the mods I’m using a couple at a time, going into the game letting things load a few minutes then repeating the process. I'm using a few adding and a cheat mod. I’ll have them listed below. I’m on Xbox 1. Someone please help. I find SS intriguing and wanna continue to use it but I can’t get it to work.

So something just crossed my brain. On the cheat terminal, there is an option to unlock all recipes in the workshop. I used this to unlock like the 100 power generator. Could that possibly be messing with the coding for the plots?

Yup realistic build times will slow down xbox pretty bad. I've also had a occasional glitch where a plot would get stuck on building stage and cause script backup which caused the plots to be stuck. Any plot you happen to see where building scaffold disappears and reappears over and over, go to asam sensor and manually select a building plan. That stops the glitch and will fix the script backup. I've had to do it a few times. Just something else to look for.

Also, I had tried everything to get the stuck ones fixed, including waiting several irl hours, and selecting the build myself. It was still bugging out.

Wouldn't think so. Completely separate things. I used the level up cheat when I did my test build. Didn't appear to have any adverse effects.
But it is still a puzzle as to why you are having these issues.

when you say bugging out - what do you mean?
as stated before - if your simply seeing the scaffolding - that means the plot is building - leave it alone. go quest - go to diamond city - do other things.

The scaffolding is there, however the construction sound is not playing and , for example the crop plots, the worker is like working on the farm. Not on the construction but the farm that is supposed to be there. They use a hole and the sorts like it’s been completed but it doesn’t work. Also I’ve gone off for several hours doing quests and had no change.

The scaffolding was not going away and the auto assign refused to work. I’ve checked all the settings and they all seem fine. One residential plot had the build of a farm, a corn farm selected on the plaque.

what happens if you refresh the plot? does it disappear and start to rebuild again?
A residential plot should not build a farm agricultural plots build farms. Are you changing the plot type once you've placed it?

Yes I have, the scaffolding disappears and then reappears but nothing else happened. I tried to pick a different build and it didn’t change any. The building sound disappeared and even when I scraped it and tried another it refused to work.

I tried in this order. I refreshed the plot, and waited an irl hour to see if anything changed, then I tried selection a different build and then waited another hour, then I tried refreshing again and waited another hour, and then I scraped and place a new one and did the process over again, and I did this with every kind of plot. And as I said before, the first like 3-5 plots worked mostly(auto assign wasn’t working) but then none would work even a little.

Ok, last ditch effort here. Go to Diamond city. Purchase Home Plate. Go to Home Plate. Clean it up, stay a while, build a bed, sleep, build a bit more. See if any messages regarding plot building appear. Do some more in Home plate??? Then, try going back to your settlement. I know this may be tedious, but it did work for me.

I'm having issues with PC as well. Not being able to assign etc. Buildings getting stuck in building phase. Probably the number of settlers I've got, but it is a script back up issue I'm sure. Just going to Home Plate myself!

Ok guys, I loaded the save before things started messing up, and I placed down many things and then just left. Last time I left things I just left and went to go do something but I never did any missions. This time I left for diamond city and did missions and my game crashed, but I guess that’s the kick start things needed. It’s working pretty well now so let’s hope it stays that way!
