Inquiry on our boy Jake (romance spoilers beware)

Also didn’t Algernon have Berman and Wise looking for Jake before the Comm hub? That’s when Berman mistook Sole for the guy they were looking for before we meet the Ron for the first time. I always guessed they were originally hunting for Jake for some unknown reason. Hopefully we’ll get to know the truth in the next few months.
Feeling a bit like a scribe here, lol.
Yes, Berman and Wise were indeed looking for someone before the Gunner incident; before Wes got wind of what Jake and the player were doing. If they were looking for Jake, it wouldn't make sense with what Algernon says when meeting him, how he wanted to reach Jake before Wes. No mention of any prior motive (that I remember).
So it could be that they were looking for Salvador. There's an entry about Algernon in The Ron's terminal which includes a request for the location of a guy named Salvador, and the gathering of information is ongoing. Which might mean it was started recently. And while Berman has a note about their mission, mentioning a sighting of the target, it's never specified to be Jake.
Edit: Also, quick thing: Berman seems rather tired of "wasting so much time trying to find this guy" by the time we first meet him, so... it feels like they've been at it long before Jake was on anyone's radar.

Interesting info. I haven’t heard of Salvador yet also haven’t checked out Ron’s terminal. When can you do that?

I caught a bit of that, and I'm keen to find out just what the heck is up with that entire scenario, because it's one big black hole. I'm as confused as Jake.

I puzzled over why Berman and Wise were looking for the AS'M salesman too. It may well have something to do with a certain ex, or... well, hopefully it won't be too long before a big Chapter drops. For those of us who aren't interested in getting sweet on Jake, I'm also curious as to what his destiny is with his family.
They could be looking for him for the ASAM's, as they seem to be looking for technology. And they have been attacking the settlements that have been using ASAMs.
Isn't it funny how technology destroyed civilization, but most of the factions are doing their best to find as much technology as they can? History will repeat itself.

I have a couple speculating theories. I could be way off, but this is what I thought when I was thinking about it. Now this is just theory and speculation.

Laura is actually the new Gunner leader, and Magnussen is a ghoul, and the one pulling The Gunners strings. He is wanting the ASAM stuff for himself, for nefarious purposes.. to use the tech to subjugate the people of not only the commonwealth, but of what is still living in North America, but why stop there.. the world.

I play a female toon mostly, I havent done much with my nate save game, and the flirty responses I see it this way.. depending on how much game time as passed (in my save its been almost 200 days) and her flirting also came with some guilt, as she is still wrestling with loss herself, not only Nate, but her son too. She destroyed the Institute, but in my play through she got Shaun to help at the end, but shot him in the head to save him from dying through the explosion, I wrestled with this for a little bit, but from a RP perspective she felt it was the right though to do, end her sons life at her own hands. She despised the Institute, and helped the RR too with escaped Synths, and wanted no part of what they were doing. In that sense it will be something she his to live with the rest of her life and there is no going back, the decision was made. She flirted some, but still has her own internal issues to deal with for a while yet, so maybe thankful he reacted the way he did, and seeing he is keeping a cool head about it so they dont loose focus on what they need to do to ensure the Commonwealth will survive makes her even more invested in him, but now he knows, and even before the flirting options came up he made some comments and innuendo that he was having feelings too. So I think it is just a lets focus, get through this, then we can live happily ever after thing.

Not so much technology, but Human nature. Too many people are content to let ambitious despots rule them. We have a planet that resembles the state prior to WWII because of three rogue nations. One in the east, one in Eurasia, and a small one in the Middle East running a worldwide terror network. Add to that a headless United States, and evil leaders frolic.

I weant to point out what Magnessus was going to use the Hub for. If you missed the note in Olivia he wanted them to point it at the sky for reasons. Id guess/hope its alien reasons. :)

I play my Nora as a JAG officer who is adapting to this new life. Since the game dictates nothing can help your partner I say she got her closure in the Vault. The world may be more gungy but she can make a lot of difference here. Of course a part of that is murdering large populations of the Commonwealth ... are you sure were not the baddies?

I don't know, I think it depends on how you player your SS and their motivations. My SS that's the furthest along, Sheilah, kills raiders and Gunners because they kill and/or extort the settlements for their own gains. Their activities are a threat to her desire to rebuild the Commonwealth. If there was a way to convince them to stop, and either go elsewhere or take up a more honest trade, she'd take that route.

You can read it at any time, it's down the ladder as soon as you enter his office, to the right. An easy hack with no penalty - even if he's there with you.
Thank you @General Ilene! Also should add Proctor Ilene to your title with all the knowledge drops, lol:)

Had to start over again without XDI. Even with the XDI patch I was still having trouble with Where there’s smoke. Jake would just not go back to the hardware store. Even after I had to kill a deathclaw that was chasing him. So someday I will get to that terminal!

Yea there are a few quests XDI is better not on for in SS2. Despite them trying to fix it. :/

If your interested A Strange Calling and Barbaricfallout are neat adventures (Calling being a really huge dungeon with a creative horror feel). XDI breaks them so you might try em if you feel like it.

I’m a chicken it took me long enough to get used to ferals, lol. But I’ll look into them. Thanks for the suggestions!

A strange Calling is AWESOME. Recommended starting level is 25-30, but personally I would say closer to 40 would be good.
Agreed. The quest start is just north of 111 so its easy to run into it early. Sometimes it makes for a fun challenge.

@General Ilene ooooh got to that terminal last night!! Those were some juicy terminal entries! The Ron knows his clients. Felt a little bad snooping on Jake like that though. I know he’s such a private person but between those (so far) adorable private frequency messages (again felt like a snoop but so worth it) and now that terminal, kind of hard not to have figured out some of his situation before hearing it from him. Thank you for pointing that out to me, that was a fun read!

Is it something I can play with SS2 installed or is it better on it’s own playthrough?
It plays well with SS2. There doesn't seem to be any conflicts. I have added it to 3 of my ongoing playthroughs, 2 with SS2 and 1 without, and everything worked great.

Its a stand alone dungeon. It adds a couple of weapons and a bunch of cool clothing. Including a full body armor that makes you look like a skeleton :D
It also has two perk magazines that add perk points, and one that raises stealth and ninja by +1.
Enemies are Mole Rats, synths, Supermutants, ghouls, mirelurks, and animals.
If you want to play the mission I can help you worth through some puzzels if you like. Im a huge fan of their work.

Aww thank you kindly, @Skywise001! That’s so sweet of you to offer, thank you:) I’m going to have to give that mod a try! It may be a bit cause I’m trying to get SS2 stable, I’m having settlement balance issues that are giving me CTDs so I’ve been researching around here and online in general on that. Once that beast is in check, then I’ll give the dungeon a run!
