Hotfix 2.0.0m - Death to the Long Save!

I hope so. I'm in my 3rd game since the patches and I can't do anything until the logistics bugs are fixed. I gave up and just saved my game. I figure I'll get back to it when I see that those issues are patched. I spent literally an entire day trying to progress by setting up supply lines, etc and got nowhere. Lupe is my most hated character in this entire game. And that's bad considering my husband was murdered and my son was stolen lol
I'm retired and this is how I spend my days... but it's definitely not relaxing or fun trying to play a game when one character brings all progress to a dead stop.

Try severing all supply lines and unassign all assigned Logistics NPCs. After that assign only one Logistics head and create one supply line. Now assign another Logistics NPC and then create another supply line. If you do too many at once, it gets confused, like it did in my game.

I can sympathize. My game is bugged pretty badly, and I haven't even installed Chapter 2 yet. The world borders are down, which is fun for exploring the forbidden fringes. But I can't call up ANY quest info on the console (PC), even vanilla. Quests will run, but sometimes they're frooky. And of course I'm at the scene with Aiden, and it always hangs up when he opens fire over our heads. Everyone stands around and my controls are dead. Previously, I could dive into console the minute he opens fire and jump to the next scene, but with no quest info, my game is essentially dead as far as SS2 is concerned.

I just started a new game a few weeks ago! I wish the King and his team would have a coffee clatch with Thuggysmurf or a group who have done some extensive mods to see if they can optimize some of the plumbing, because SS2 is the ONLY quest mod I've ever struggled with. And it's a lot.

Your problem sounds way more involved than just a couple issues with SS2.

You definitely have another issue going on with your drivers or hardware. You seem to be running out of ram or vram, which normally would issue a blue screen, but it's hard to crash a Windows 10. A GPU or VRAM overheating may also cause texture glitches. Next time you have this issue, check the time it happened and execute the Event Viewer to see the Windows logs. I would also suggest running a hardware monitor with overlay like MSI Afterburner.

No doubt. My Windoze install might be getting a bit senile, but I'm afraid of doing a full reformat and reinstall of everything because some of the mods on Nexus, like that magnificent Seasons Project, have vanished and I have no idea if the files exist anywhere. I also installed Ch 2 but it refused to allow Fallout to run past the loading screen, instant CTD. I have quite a few mods, "only" 180 or so, but some seem to clash without being on the forbidden list, and figuring out a good load order isn't a fun task. And it's possible a recommended .ini tweak wasn't kosher.

I'm going to tidy up my mods a bit, clean out the .inis and follow RayBo's Bake a Game Save method. And start yet another game, augh. Hopefully this one will let me install Chapter 2 without incident.

Make backups of the files you don’t want to lose then delete everything else and uninstall the game and start over. I’ve run a decent sized mod list 200ish with no issues on quests So I’d guess there’s some file issues somewhere Or something corrupted / clashing with something.

just copy past all the old mods into a folder somewhere that’s how I save stuff that is no longer available on nexus. Was a bummer that so many mods got removed.

Chapter 2 requires the official DLC Automatron. The game will CTD if it is not present and active.

Hey pals, I start to suffer a lot of CTD. This happen to someone else?
Bethesda games CTD by default so that's vague. You need to use something like Buffout 4 and read the crash logs, specially if the crashes are persistent.

I know, I know, chum, CTD is the bread and butter of FO4, I only asking to know if somebody have an excesive CTD presence cause everything was giong fine (even better) after the last upgrade then PAM! , an almost unplayable game :sorry

I played yesterday form more then 2 hours with no CTD's no long saves, nice and easy with a lot of me jumping around teleporting all around the map, the only thin I do not use are RoTC settlement maps, I only use the standards , or I build it with plots. I just check but I have no pending updates for any of the mods I use (175 mods, 135 active plugins & 56 light ones). So not sure why you got suddenly CTD's Yosef.

Since this seems to be a tech help thread for the time being, have you ever had an issue with textures being misplaced or other issues, and which folders do you copy? Because it seems there are a few folders involved. If you want to take this to PM, that's fine.

On a side note, I finally got into RayBo's Excel sheet of his stable mod list and will be copying what I have of his. NMM foolishly said I didn't have enough hard drive space to backup my mods, which I was trying to put in a drive with 190GB available space, meh. So I went ahead with this install just cleaned up with fresh inis and just a couple of safe tweaks. It ran butter smooth with no issues after several hours of play. I forgot to install a couple of mods, including SS2 Ch2, but I was running on four hours sleep and literally a 24 hour day on top of that - yikes! - so I claim special exemption.

For those claiming FO4 is a bug nest, you should try playing No Man's Sky. Major updates kill EVERY mod, so old ones are long dead. Some fun. So with proper updates to crucial patches like F4SE and Buffout, FO4 is pretty much trouble free outside of cranky mods that won't get along. SS2 however, nuther story...

While for me the long save issue was fixed at first, when I got to level 60 and finally built my first communications center the save issue came back bigger to the point it just has the chance of crashing the game. It went from no issues with saves to saves so long that I thought it crashed. I have around 3/4 of the commonwealth settlements operating so there is a lot to work with. The issues however did come after the communications plot.

Since I am posting about this might as well put all other issues I have noticed.

The church guy has not built up the church at all at any point. Works in quests normally.

Hunting Bombface has the issue that once I kill him and I am given task to talk to Caleb he is unresponsive. Still follows you around but does nothing.

When working with Nightengales and we went to the hospital and it was time to talk to remaining gunners, doctor lady just started walking back and forth in front of the gunners and I couldnt talk to them. When I moved to try and reposition myself they aggroed and I had to kill them. Quest continued normally though.

That's definitely not normal. Something going on there. Either a bad download/install or a mod conflict perhaps?

The quest "Do Android Sheep Dream of Electric Wolves ?" is still buggy as of 2.0.0M. If Hauer is attacked, it breaks the objective to Talk to Hauer.
Occasionally a large part of the status bar at the top of the screen inside HQ will only partially display. The amount of people inside is displayed, however the rest of the status bar showing the amount of Facilities workers, Engineers workers, etc will not display. Likely caused by a large amount of script lag as it eventually comes back on its own.

To copy a mod basically your looking for 3 things or so
1 the esp / esl basically main file
2 a texture folder should be named the same as the mod/textures
3 if it has them a mesh folder with the name of the mod/meshes

sometimes theres scripts and stuff but it should all be named after the mod I just copy all the folders and the main mod file then paste them in a folder on my desktop that I named fallout 4 mods backups.

That's when the long save issues used to to kick for me as well, since Chapter 1. I was only starting to get the long saves after building half of the settlements. Before that the game used to run smooth. I'm going to start from scratch with the latest patch.

Can you post your load order please? Also, you mentioned f4se plugins. Are you using Nukem's plugin?

If you could, set Nukem's plugin to log GC and turn papyrus logging also and post both of them. You shouldn't be getting long saves, especially on a new game. I'm curious to see what's happening behind the scenes.

I had to revert to version H (and load back a few saves to prior to version m) to get saves back in line with just 'long saves' vs version m's 'super long saves + fast travel loading' that I experienced. By version h long saves I mean maybe 30 seconds on occasion. Version m was hell.

As for my modlist, well, this is precisely my current playthrough modlist AND also one my modlists. lol

That's weird. At one point or another, I used almost every one of those mods. I remember I had problems with Desperados Overhaul, but I don't remember if I was using SS2 at the time. Also, by reading the Settlement Menu Manager page, you don't need it if you're using SS2
*If you have v1.1.11 or later of Workshop Framework installed it will repair your workshop menu on every game load and SMM will no longer be required for Sim Settlements.
I know you did the console check to see if you had the correct version, but just to be sure, could you delete SS2 and Chap 2 folders and install version 2.0.1? I'm also using MO2 and that's what I had to do in order to get the patch working correctly.

Another thing. I never used Transfer Settlements. Can anyone comment on its compatibility with SS2? My guess is that there is no problem unless you try to do a transfer and city plan at the same time? But since I never used it I have no idea of its impact on SS2.

Just a final note, in your load order, do you have UFO4 before HUDFramework, Workshop Framework, Workshop Framework plus, SS2, SS2 Chap2 and SS2 extended (if you are using it)?
