Hotfix 2.0.0m - Death to the Long Save!

I had this problem once before. All I had to do was regenerate my .ini files. To do this delete Fallout4.ini, and Fallout 4Perfs.ini from Documents/Mygames/Fallout 4 (Path may be different on your PC). Next Start the official launcher (Not F4se). That will regen your ini files. You will have to remake any changes you made to these files, but before you do that make sure the game is not crashing still.
trying that now.

Didnt resolve the issue. SO I dont know, played for hours and hours with no issues such as this now I cant get the game to load or keep it from crashing when trying to pause or go into any pip boy menu.

Are you using a mod called Fallout Priority, or overclocking your cpu?
The reason I ask is, I was using Fallout priority with no problems, but as soon as I updated SS2 I started to crash a lot like what's happening to you. I removed Fallout priority, and everything was fine. This may also happen from overclocking.

Not over clocking and never heard of Fallout Priority, so I dunno, getting somewhat frustrated now, I got it to create a new game, went through character creation, then when the convo starts with the VT salesman it crashes and the process starts all over again. I did not press the escape button this time.

Can you try this console command:

help SS2_ModVersion 3

If it's not showing version 51.0, could be the mod manager is still restoring an old esm.

The fact that you're having long saves with the new F4SE plugin makes me think you've found some other source of long save, as we've seen tons of confirmation over the past few days with that DLL that it was fixing them.

51.0.

I'm using MO2. Once you choose Delete that mod and its whole subfolder vanish completely into the Trash Bin. Delete is the only way I manage new mod versions unless it's a small 'hotfix' patch that contains only a few files. My F4SE and all plugins, Buffout, etc are in the main game folders of course (never have MO2 manage them). Currently only using SS2 for its building assets, haven't even placed down the first plot from Jake. The long saves are intermittent, not every time, sometimes I get a quick save, other times sometimes so long I have to force quit. That's what happened after the new version - one quick normal save, walked out of the settlement, long save time till I force quit after 5 minutes.

Started a fresh from vanilla save earlier and put a city plan on the bane of my existence until today.... Starlight Drive In would either lock me up or save for days. I did a quick save and exit save while standing in a city plan there and it was beautiful. Thanks for the hard work!

OK I think I found my issue with the crashing on escape, inventory..ect... Learned my lesson about paying more attention when I am working on my own mods especially since my modding experience isnt all that extensive right now.. I was working on (and still am) a mod that will make AAF calls compatible with SS2 plot furniture (have had SOME success but still needs a lot of work and how ot mod research on my part*), I started working on it on a "modding" profile in MO2 but somehow I managed to get it into my "play" profile... I had to re install SS2 and all AAF mods and so for working as intended. <.<

Have a few hours in since updating to version M and no long saves or CTD and fast traveling is back to normal as well. However, I am seeing a new issue now and don't know if it is related or not but when I am in a settlement, I don't get the prompt to interact with Cait. I have to walk out of the settlement to get it appear. Haven't tried it with another companion yet so not sure if it is widespread.

Regardless, I would like to thank Kinggath and his dedicated team. I can only imagine the amount of code that had to be gone through to 1) write the mod to begin with, and 2) to repair its unwanted "features".

So you mean the little interaction cue when close to her ? I’d try turning off the settler tracking feature in the wsfw and see if it changes anything. I had to turn mine off to give people the vaccines.

I don't know if you are to but, in the sheet go to File > Download, and choose an extension to your liking.
However note that I may actively change the original sheet as I have future plans for NBL2!

My bad on that part.
@google spreadsheet. File > no download option. Is OK. Took screen shots.

Also any mod that uses that button, like get out of my way, that uses that same button to push no hostiles.

So here’s an interesting thing for Xbox. Saves seem utterly fixed. Longest is maybe 15 seconds which is just normal for Xbox, but since this latest patch I can’t use my Xbox button to get out of the game. The screen goes shadowy but the Xbox menu doesn’t appear. Have to turn off console and turn it back. Never seen this before.

Another addition to the list of successes with the Long Save Issue. Prior to this release, more than half of my saves were long saves, with an average of 2~3 minutes, and one that clocked in at 12 minutes. I have had none since uploading the 'M' version, and I have clocked up maybe 10 hours of play time since making the switch. I am in the early stages of the game, but so far, there have been no issues encountered.

To everyone involved in finding and dealing with this issue, thank you very much.

we have this on pc the game freezes when you quit! Requires a hard close . in your case ya I guess hard xbox restart

The long save issue seems to be resolved in my case. I'm not sure, if it's the actual patch or the F4SE plugin. But things are back to normal now. thanks.

Thank you to everybody that contributed to fixing the long save issue, for some it was an annoyance, for other it was game breaking. Whatever y'all did also improved performance quite a bit at least for me.

So the magic letter was "M" then ! =D
Such a great patch/fix. We thank everybody who are involved...

I'm finally considering giving chapter 2 a go.... Still haven't tried it since it's release and was in pain due to that.
I believe I still do have a fair amount of research to do though, before I jump in.
