Hey everyone. Ive been doing the commonwealth rising quest & Im at the part where Im supposed to go to my settlements, build a powert transfer plot and an advanced or hi tec power plant so that the surplus power can be transmitted to hq...
Ive done it all in 4 settlements by the book, watched videos on YouTube asked people whove done it successfully and it seems my quest is just bugged as the 0 figure wont every progress towards 1000
Ive done the following:
Gone to a settlement, built a power transfer plot, built and advanced power plant, built vault tec generators, connected them all via a municipal power pylon , went back to hq and set up a supply agreement...
My quest just wont progress, pls HELP

Looking at your quest stages, they indicate that you need to recruit more Engineers to get their department energy up and then,
upgrade the Power Distribution Room in HQ.
How many Engineers do you have?
Have you upgraded the Power Distribution Room?

Ah, this is A StoryWealth Collection. I will probably have trouble getting a volunteer to look at your save, since it's a such large collection.
Perhaps @Martend could have a look see what is going on with your game, since he's the curator of the collection.
I can only provide support for the Sim Settlements 2, SS Chapter 2 and kinggath mods here. We rely on our experienced users to help out with other mods.

Hiya! I have 30! engineers and that oarticular quest stage had been completed for ages where I had to recruit more to increase the department's power, its at 1100/1000, cross my heart
I can send you a screenshot!
What do you suggest I could try? Dismiss them all& re-assign them to engineering?
Also my power dist room os on level 4 or 5 whatever the highest level is, the number is 2100/1000

Do you think it would do the trick to dismiss all the engineers and then reset the room purpose on the power dist room via the room control panel, then re-upgrade it then re-assign the engineers to the engineering department?

-otherwise is there a console command to simply complete that quest stage to a point where the script is satified with the requirements for engineers pwr distr room level/power capacity & moves onto looking for excess settlement power?(aka where I'm stuck)

How long am I supposed to wait?
Brw I didnt even know a caravan plot was needed/if there is ine already at egret..Im using the basic ss2 city plan everywhere ..anyhoo I built one, and a small generator, connected them both to the municipal pylon/grid..look at the pics...the number is still stuck at 0
In that picture of your settlement, the Power Transfer Plot is showing the red 'waving vault boy' icon, which means there isn't anyone actually working at it. Is that still the case?

Ya, you could try unassigning and re-assigning the Engineers. Maybe add them back in slowly and see if your quest gives you updates as you add them in.
You could go find the Power Distribution Room and it's Room Control and access that, use the Refresh option.

And the 'shared power' still isn't updating? Now try doing that trick of wiring another little generator into the power grid at that settlement to see if that forces it to 'update'.
Right now Ive gone to hq, basement, reset rhe room purpose and refreshed the room on the oower distribution room, that removed all the upgrades... literally unassigned everyone from every dept, increased 29 peoples perception to 10 and reassigned them to engineering...now gonna go back to the badement and reapply all the 5 upgrades to the power distribution room, then Ill go back to egret andake sure ,damned sure that both the caravan and power transfer plots have power and a person assigned to it, then Im gonna plop down another genwrator and connect that straight to the ravan plot..Ill do the same then with the oower transfer plot and let you know...I am so frustrated, sick and tired of this...this literally killed all the fun for me in hq...

Pls have a look ..

Given the frustration level, the quest guide has the quest stages listed on it at the bottom
Commonwealth Rising
I don't think that given you are using a collection, that we're not going to fix this without manual intervention.

I suggest you do the following to get through: (This should be done slowly, so be patient doing it :declare)
  1. Make a save
  2. Run the console command sqs SS2C2_Sirick_MQ27 again
  3. Make note of the stages that are "not set" These are the ones that are preventing your quest from processing correctly.
  4. Compare them with the Quest Stages from the quest quide to see what the stage number is for.
  5. Then for the ones that are "not set", enter console command setstage SS2C2_Sirick_MQ27 # (# being the stage #)
  6. Make sure that you enter them one at a time and in order (starting with the lowest number) and exit the console after the entry
  7. Wait a few minutes to see if the quest rights itself. Also after you enter them, make sure that the console doesn't report an error.
You should get the HQ Radio messages as per the quest stages, and hopefully you'll be able to get to the last scene and the end of the Chapter.
It'd not be fun to miss out.
Good luck @TomVaughn

And lastly Im back at egret:
Ive headed back to Hq, re-established the supply agreements & nothing....
The number is stuck at 0

The problem with doing it this way is I still wont have any "power" ....
The inly way I can do this is by using workshop plus's free build mode witu unlimited resources

Just an observation from when I was having these problems: you need to have a power transfer switch and you need to make sure someone is actually assigned to the power transfer station.

Ya? free build mode is definitely an option to get through the quest.
I'll be playing through Commonwealth Rising again, with the new release - will see what happens.
