Clean and Simple Mod question

I read the incompatible mods and this mod is one of them and i just had to ask if it's just coz of the city plans or it's something more. Since i can live without the city plans and i actually prefer to plan my own and more real estate would be nice and CSM provides that without me just needing to clean the place up. Placing a leader doesn't require a City Plan right? that's what i thought but correct me if im wrong. I do wanna know if there's something i don't know about these mods, even the mods that allows you to erase those trash things whatever i forgot the mod. Enlighten me please if i really need to make do of the Vanilla settlements.

You can assign a Leader to a settlement. Using a City Plan is not required.

I Love You. Any info about my other question about the mods mentioned?
@Clover,
Not sure what other mods mentioned? Just see one mentioned in your post above.
I wouldn't recommend using Scrap Everything.
These two are good to use: Raze My Settlement or Clean My Settlement for tidying up the 'Wealth.
Place Everywhere is a handy mod to have.

Really, everything I know is on the Wiki.
If you want to know more about specific mods, I'd recommend reading the mod description for each mod.
Read the posts on the mod, see what issues others have experienced with the specific mod.

Been doing my own digging actually and i do know that scrap everything messes with cell something "i have no idea" but it does mess with something vital. Sadly Clean my Settlement i get CTD's whenever i go anywhere near Tenpines so i don't really have the patience to go trial and error on that one "Already did and my patience died already". Problem with Clean and Simple settlements are the City Plans will have some clipping issues since the settlements are changed from elevation to buildings so it won't look right while using Cityplans since those rely on untouched Vanilla settlement. My OCD is just bothering the heck out of me that's why i'm here digging. Thanks for the time though, appreciate it.

I feel your OCD! I was using settlement cleaning mods before SS2, but don't use them with SS. There is always that, chair, tree, leaves or whatever that drives me NUTS! And Coastal Cottage is the bane of my existence. All the unusable building space.:moil

Found the problem. At 1st it's nice and clean but as you play the game you'll find some broken settlements like sunset drive in, it starts spawning the old settlement on top of the other and you need to have scrap everything just for it to load properly and then a whole new problem pops up one after the other. Then you start not being able to clip stairs so on i have no idea but my test save is broken now. Sanctuary hills tree disappeared too and you cannot play Clean and Simple without Scrap Everything since it will eventually go nuts buildings spawning on top of the other it's pretty much dead at that point and i heard there's precombines on some settlements to be broken so thats a performance drop right there. Much sadness i thought i could work around it, it's too broken to even bother. This is pretty much my 4th hard reset on my playthrough lmao and wasted like 72 hours of gameplay lol. Really wanted to play SS2 with clean everything so i can just go nuts with building but yeah a man can dream, will just have to play it with a dirty settlement. If only you could just delete the trash and leaves i'd be ok with it but NOOOOOOOOOOO. Even Clean my Settlement i have crashes like i can't go anywhere near Tenpines coz it will crash so i'm stuck with Raze my settlement. In covenant too there's a max height thing like jeez so many restrictions. Oh well, i want to keep using SS2 so i'll just steer clear with Clean my Settlement, Spring Cleaning, Clean Everything and Simple and Clean settlements since my OCD get's totally triggered when buildings start spawning on top of one another like fricking Matrix lol world is nuts and the worlds are converging.

I have problems with Starlight Drive-in too. I only have 20 MODs loaded and I do not use any of the cleaning MODs with SS2.

Even with SS2 on the lowest settings and had only 10 settlers. Built 10 interior residential plots and 10 other plots for 20 in total. I made sure to scrap everything before building. It was stable for a while. As it upgraded levels, it got a little worse. But when recruitable unique SS2 characters started showing up, it would CTD after being in the settlement for about 30 seconds. After this, I could never enter that settlement.

I have read that Starlight Drive-in has an issue from the base game. It has something to do with the big screen and the other building. Supposedly it is doubling the polygon count somehow.

Also, on all my play throughs I have an issue when SS2 settlers (unique characters) start showing up at any of my main settlements. I have even tried changing my main settlement in City manager, but it has not worked yet.

I have found a work around. I make Sunshine Tidings co-op my first and main settlement. For some reason, no unique SS2 characters show up here. I have done this for 2 play throughs. They end up showing up were I send Stodge and his crew from the quest ‘Who can? ASAM!’. After a while that settlement still gets this problem. Currently I am testing this part by building the Stodge settlement myself and keeping it small with almost all interior plots. We will see what happens.

That's the saddest part for me. I CTD whenever i go near Tidings coz of Clean my Settlement. I tried hunting down whats causing it but i'm stumped and just not bother anymore. Sad that everyone seems to have no issues running Clean my Settlement and Raze Everything since both are pretty integrated with one another. I havent tried killing GoodFeels then trying it again see if he's the problem but not yet. My OCD is pretty calm now despite using Vanilla settlements, i made peace with Todd now :D.

I almost guarantee that your CTD is not caused by Raze or Clean. I am willing to bet you encountered the scrap crash. The only way to fix that is to load a save from before it happened. Use Power Grid Tools to monitor a settlement's power grid before you leave to make sure this doesn't happen.

Can anyone definitively comment on 'Clean and Simple' (Jenncave) mods compatibility with SS2? The C&S mods totally clean and level the area while still providing a container which holds the recovered resources. I have been using C&S for some time in my game, but I am not sure why it would not be compatible with SS2 but I do not know all about 'Under the Hood'.
Thanks

Based on my own use of C&S. YMMV.
Clean and Simple seems to work fine when you are building the settlements yourself.
Does not work well at all with most of the city plans.
1 - City plans are made based on the original topography of the settlement site... plots tend to sink into the ground, or float above... the more Jenncave had to change to level the area, the more the city plans will have issues.
2 - When starting a city plan, they restore the vanilla items back to the original vanilla settlement layout... trees, bushes, houses, buildings, cars, ect... those items are restored to there original locations and many times incorporated into the city plan.

So if you build it yourself, should be good to go, but otherwise not recommended.

Thanks for the response, especially the explanation! It all makes sense.
