Update for Wasteland Venturers - 7 + 3 new buildings

Mostly just leaving space for the interior plot, yes :) And adding snap points so the interior plot is easy to place. First I added them to the house mesh itself, but then the interior plot tended to snap wrong (I might have added too many points). So I ended up just spawning in a regular workshop floor piece (with a transparent material so it's invisible).

I hope this type of "double plot" will work. The settlers aren't usually too happy navigating the upper floors though, so your idea with double plots as two placed next to each other might still be a better way to do it :)

hahaha, that is what I have been doing. Building my own hovel for them and then find two interior plots I like and face them together. Works like a charm :rollseye. Marcy says she hates it but I see her looking at Jon while they sleep:friends. I outfit her like a D&D tank with weapons and armor. :happy

Jon is the safest NPC in the game with Marcy around.
:acute

Still sounds like a cool idea. Get your point about upper floors and the dense settlers, but still want to give it a go once Ive finished my current plot thats going like a snail in reverse!

Just happy you are still at it. l have always really enjoyed your plots!

Ann Hardgraves and Holly at the slog, need your clothing store.

Holly selling lingerie is the best!

Hahaha, had to google how to spell lingerie, but hey. That is a good thing :dance

I always have your mall (s) in my game!

I just have to try this out. And I will force Marcy and the half wit together. Does it matter if the interior plot is slightly outside of the main plot, or do we just have to ensure the floor is clear etc. Not going to get a chance to test my prototype for a while due to "Someone" Borrowing my Controller. (Cant do it without my Xbox controller). Just end up running round in circles or running into things!

Done it. Needs tidying up etc and all levels doing, but the outline is done. Took some playing around with offsets to get the right positioning of Marcy in bed and the snapping is awkward, as Tinuvia said. So glad I dropped in here to read about WV stuff. Thank you.

He he. I couldn't wait to relocate them. Was going to make them really close whilst asleep, but then thought, if others use it........might look wrong.

hahahaha, wrong :scratchhead is often so right in the end :friends

Right :mosking often gets overrated..and ends up being :nea

:dance2 Adapting is a "good thing". :declare

So, however, you did it I am sure it will be great! :victory

oh, Tinuvia was concerned in an earlier post about settler pathing to upper floors of plots. I need to post some screenshots of Gaslight Concoctions, as that has not been a problem with hers!

I avoided the pathing issues by staying on the ground floor. Just cant get them to go up stairs, or ladder or steps or ramps or..........anything.

hahahaha, where Marcy and Jon are today:
"no, I did not kill them" :declare
3 interior plots
2 residential
1 shop

Ohhh cool! Glad they found the way to bed. And always fun to see what you build with the plots, Raybo. Thanks!

Tinuvia, Did you get the internal plot in an external plot to power up? If so, any clues on how.
I only manged it if I had a power pylon near my plot. Thought a power connector spawned in was ok, but alas, no. Am thinking I have to put an invisible generator in?.........Help.

I by no means can really contribute to the conversation. But if it helps I have to connect the internal plot separately on her plot. At least that is how it currently is. No idea if she is working on another way. But for me that isn't a problem

It had a connector. on the back,:unknw if I remember correctly? :declare but maybe I put it there?

But it is 4:30 am and can't sleep :lazy so who knows what the hell I am thinking? :scratchhead

oh, good-lord I want to go to the other computer and check but maybe it only became visible at level 2. I really should go back to bed :tease I'll check tomorrow, I took screenshots I think? :unknw

I just looked at BM Uituit's :spiteful update, now if I go back to sleep I'll probably have nightmares:vampire of bloody :jester but happy, clowns :lol eating each other because they couldn't sleep :punish and wanted a snack :poo: :this

For the first version of Gaslight (4.0.0) I just made a note in the build message that the player would have to power it up themselves. I thought since they would have to draw power lines anyway it might be easiest if they also placed the conduit.
For the v5.0.0 I set the Gaslight to radiate power, which gave power automagically to the interior plot, but only if Gaslight had power before the interior plot was built initially. I didn't have time to test setting the Gaslight plan to produce some initial power in itself (which Whisper mentioned could work), and see if that would ensure that the interior plot had power from the start - so I think I left the build message to still say that the interior plot needed separate power.

We'll have to do some more testing!

I have used the method whisper suggested. Generate its own power, a little each level. Level +1 or 2 seems to work great. I did at one point during my test, spawn a conduit into the plot, that the player could connect power line to. This also appeared to work. But prefer the self power option.

Tinuvia, I take it you had to spawn the regular floor piece in because just including it in the SCOL doesn't do the trick? Struggling with my new house idea, that will take ages, but wont come out til KG has done the tut for the new navmesh / cut thing, so settlers will go up stairs.
