Unofficial Patch

The vanilla (no DLC) unofficial patch was one of the first mods I installed when I learned to use NMM; I later read it was no longer supported, and I also read it wasn't safe to just uninstall it, so I keep it activated in my load order. Other mods, I can just remove without problems. Hopefully, this isn't causing problems. :)
Well the problem is that it will have outdated workshop scripts which could and most likely will interfere with Sim Settlements in odd ways. I recommend starting a new save game without it if you don't want to buy the DLC.

Thank you. Ever since installing unofficial patch without DLC, I've been more careful about reading all of the descriptions, posts, and bugs before installing a mod, LOL. :D
 
Thanks for the heads up. I like a lot of aspects of FO4, and I like a lot of the mods of FO4, but I'm not much of a fan of the FO4 story/plot/rpg execution, so I'm not sure I'll ever get around to getting the DLCs. I play FO4 like Fallout Shelter. :)

Honestly if your a builder the extra assets are probably worth it when steam runs the 50% off sales

If I buy the Game of the Year edition, will they deduct the discounted price of the main game? Right now, if I bought each discounted DLC, it would cost more than the discounted Game of the Year package. It doesn't sit well with me, purchasing a game twice, and specially since when I bought FO4, I got it at full price at the time.

(Added) Will SS/ROTC work well without the Unofficial Patch, or is the Unofficial Patch that much recommended for FO4, the way Yukichigai's Unofficial Patch was necessary for New Vegas?

Everyone, thanks so much for your replies. I decided just to bite the bullet and remove the unofficial patch mod from my game. After doing so, I made a new save. So far, it's working well, but who knows what problems might occur later. :)

The DLCs are worth it because MOAR ASSETS!!!!11one

All of them give some pretty cool stuff. My personal favorite is Far Harbor's building assets.

Some of our build team uses UFO4P, some don't.

SS just keeps on working.

Kinggath has said in the past that he intentionally writes his scripts so that they will work with either the vanilla unpatched scripts -OR- the UFO4P patched scripts.
 
someone know why when I go from game mode to build mode its like its stuck but then it loads ??? ideas for me to fix this, I love this game since I got it, but the lag is getting a little annoying - its like Mindcraft on crack!!! Lol ... love building stuff ... :)
 
reduce your mod loadout. lots of mods addimg stuff to the menu can cause this.
 
so I have just kind of delt with it, my issue now is starlight drive will freeze up and then kick me out - but it is weird I can go to others and play and build? thoughts?
 
Question regarding the Unofficial Patch ... so I uninstalled the Unofficial Patch for vanilla (despite the warnings, haha) and am continuing to play FO4 (with some bugs, probably due to this).

I'm thinking of purchasing an SSD to replace my slower drive, so I'd have to do a clean install of Steam/FO4/etc. When I load a previously saved game onto this clean install, will I have no traces of the Unofficial Patch, or will the save game have remnants of the Unofficial Patch and the possible errors from removing it?
