Today I Learned (screenshots v2)

Today I learned there's some Jake lore on the chalkboard in his hardware store.

I've played through the new game experience tons of times and never actually looked at the wall. I think I always just saw some crap on the wall in my peripheral vision and I probably just assumed it was the usual propaganda or ad posters and never actually studied it.

There's little tidbits of 'lore' and 'backstory' scattered all throughout the questline. My favourite one is a note that's left on a table where you find the Comm Hub in Station Olivia.
(and to save you some time, I checked all the locations Jake's got marked there a while back, other than the spots the questline takes you anyway the rest of the markers don't hold any secrets)

i think i recognize all of them, however. three of the circles are relay towers, "avoid" written over CIT and pickman's, rumors of scrap over the supermutant camp, vault 81 and 111 are marked, mayoral shelter, Salem is blacked out probably for crabs and death claws and such, west everette and concord marked as "ASAM?", the prewar watts consumer electronics, "C.H." over olivia, the first automatron dungeon near the castle, the gunner hijack vault marked "vault raiders". bit of a tour of jake's pre-survivor adventures.

Audrey tried all kinds of stuff in her lifetime, though I don't think Jet or any injectables is her thing. She's classier than that.
raider animation markers
That never occured to me. I thought CPD officers were doing jet just because they can.

This isn't something worth taking a screenshot of, but I did actually learn something just now in my current playthrough:

There's an alternate unlock for the "Power Armor Store" subtype of Commercial, other than "just build more shops". (That being, do the little vanilla micro-questline at the Atom Cats Garage.)

it can also be unlocked by mark 1 beacons and salvage caravan discoveries, notably Cambridge polymer labs\
edit: Cessori is absolutely correct. i was mistaken

As far as I know, the plot unlocked at Cambridge Polymer Labs with the Mark I Beacon is an Industrial Production plot called Body Armor Technology by kinggath
Beacons don't discover Commercial Plots -- unless a mod has changed that?

Addon Packs could well have had another plot design be Discoverable there, but I was referring to the subcategory, not a specific design.

Nice - does she have her incredibly extensive vendor inventory too? Because that would make her a settler and an incredible vendor all in one.
Sparks is still following her. Still has her post-questline dialog, including Barter. Vendor inventory appears to be what she'd normally have (this is with my Full Load Order so it might seem a little off to everyone else, but it looks like what I'd expected it to)
She's definitely not assigned to anything that should give her a Vendor tag, so it's just her "baseline".

Might actually be a little "OP" in that regard, but considering it as a 'quest reward' for finishing the entire DLC makes it seem about right.

That is intriguing - bonus points for having her use my intelligence training plot. She does strike me as a potential nuka cola fiend.

I use that one all the time! I love me some 1x1s, even with as much space as Sunshine has. That's gonna be this save's "training yard" settlement to hold all the people I want to eventually send to HQ - yes I could just console-command people's stats to 10, but that feels too "dishonest".
