Since my old thread "Wisdom" was quite popular (by the standards of anything else I post at least), let's do a Chapter 2 version. Just post funny/educational/whatever Chapter 2 screenshots, maybe share some tips/tricks, whatever.

I'll start us off: I can't be the only one that initially assumed that "New Fallon's" in Concord and the 'photo' mechanic only worked for SS2's unique NPCs right? Turns out it works on anyone. (highlighted outfit is Preston's duster coat)

Oh and I learned today that depending on the settlement, it's possible to get a Plot close enough to where "The Caretaker" idles at wherever your Mercer Safehouse is to give the guy somewhere to just sit down for a change.

After some experimentation in several settlements, I always manipulate the game (claim every unmanned settlement except ...before meeting Deacon) to assign Spectacle Island. The caretaker just seems to be most comfortable there and will use tables and stools if they are nearby (I build a restaurant/bar first for just that reason).

Thanks for the bit about providing for the Mercer Safehouse caretaker. I always forget about the poor NPC as soon as I finish their little side quest.

For some reason I end up with Mercer at Croup manor about half the time and he seems ok there.

Not on anyone. The Concord lady with the newspaper quests and her rookie reporter guy don't get their photo taken or I did something wrong

Hm, you're right, it doesn't work on them for me either. Seems to work on everyone else I tried, though, even people wearing vanilla outfits you could get anywhere...

I'm on a new save here, just used the cheat in the holotape to skip up to a specific quest ("Scavver's Delight" as shown on my screen).
Something got forgotten in the process, though...

His outfit and scarf - which are separate items apparently - were in his inventory. Dude just forgot to equip them. He doesn't have his Pip-Boy, though...

Pastor Edmund still refuses to say any more than his 'greet' lines to me on this save too. And there's meant to be a scene of him and Jake talking when you get back there to start "Well Well Well"? That never played either.

Today I learned Carne is a better shooter than MacCready. They suddenly decided to start shooting each other for some reason. Mac was buffed through a mod and had a modified sniper rifle, Carne had a basic assault rifle. Carne won. That's a big oof, Mac.
Carne did get his chem stash back, though...

Hey just gonna drop a question for those who already experienced it: do unique settlers keep their faction allegiances? What happens if lets say, I play the main story with BOS, will it aggro Deaf Nadine? Or the railroad settlers, for that matter. I might have to exile them ahead of time...

I've seen a pacified ghoul constantly attack Carl Meade, Tredwell wipe out Railroad agents at Mercer, and companions kill Sneake, but I've never seen Deaf Nadine go aggro

tbf they probably killed sneake because he's so bad at swearing. He sounds like Roger Dorn sometimes.

I haven't seen the Uniques attacking each other since like... 1.0.6 or so? It used to be a recurring problem, since they're all marked as "Protected", meaning (in theory) only you the player can actually kill them, so once they start fighting...

Pretty sure in my own cases of seeing that happen though, it was due to someone getting clipped by Friendly Fire during a settlement defense. Those Far Harbor "Condensors Down" events are no fkn joke.

That said it would be about that long since I recruited most of them too. I just leave a good portion of them wandering around so the roads between settlements have some life.

If you get a mutant hound or glowing wolf from Ericsson, it will deal rad damage to any settler that bumps into it and turn them hostile. No mods required.

Since automatrons should be immune, they won't aggro since they receive 0 damage right? or does the act of bumping itself count as an attack, regardless of the damage dealt? Anyways here's hoping the railroad settlers like Hauer and Hesper won't start a firefight in my settlement once I wipe their HQ buddies
