Today I Learned (screenshots v2)

Still poking around in HQ, looking for more secrets and treasures and hidden features...

Time to head out to Fort Strong, I guess? Think that mark is where the old naval cannons are set up... not sure where that chalk circle due south of Concord works out to, though...
ScreenShot65.png

The map in the Concord Hardware store that Jake had annotated didn't have anything at the locations he'd suggested, though... eh, worth a look.

Some actual learnin'!

Discovered that the "sandbox" space for Visitors at Jamaica Plains covers the entire town, not just the half a block it lets you build in. Right under my crosshair there is a Visitor, you can see Frenchie JR there heading into the Mayor's Office, and the church across the street to my right has Isaiah sitting in it "praying".

Also, I finally found the spot in the questline that the [Inspirational] perk (improves your companion) comes up.
It's during the talk with Jake in the Concord Church, during I think it was the quest "Martial Law"?

(what your guy says is not exactly inspirational)

Settlers, too. Can make it annoying trying to find them to assign them to things. At least the "turn off workshop timeout" option in Place Everywhere means you can track them down and stay in workshop mode.

That has to be my second most used function of Place Everywhere. Only one that beats it is "toggle Surface Snap".

The quest for more Easter Eggs/hidden features continues.
Today's target: THE RON's computer.

I guess it is canon that he's trying to find the Mysterious Stranger...
ScreenShot81.png
Where did he find FIVE TONS of Rubber?
ScreenShot82.png

THE RON's got some interesting entries on there that scream "bonus sidequest content" to me, I'm not going to post them all since everyone should go have a look for themselves... and yes one of the other entries was clearly Deacon

After playing fallout 4 for 6 years, I did not know you even COULD rotate on that axis... so today I learned something
I have never been able to make it work. I've used a controller, keyboard, mouse. I can get the notification that my axis has changed but it never actually does. Even in the creation kit

ScreenShot21.png

Also... guess which outfit really didn't need the 'Ballistic Weave capable' tag but has it anyway?
Captain Wes's. The stats shown are the baseline without the Weave installed. For reference, a full set of vanilla Heavy Combat Armor has defense ratings of 101 in both Ballistic and Energy. I guess it does weigh a friggin' ton, though...

Another bit of looking around in HQ (still looking for more Hidden Goodness), and what do I see?

Is that a Laser Tripwire module, or... the SS1 ASAM model? That's one of a handful of rooms in there that the not-ASAM on the wall doesn't show who the Designer for it was.
ScreenShot28.png

Honestly I'm surprised there isn't one in vault 111 or outside vault 111
I'd love to see that become sort of a 'meme' to have them hidden everywhere, even places they shouldn't be logically able to get to. Like, say, in one of Kellogg's Memories.

More HQ shenanigans (for obvious reasons).

I'm no expert, but I don't think you're meant to use a Power Fist on a punching bag.
But what do I know, it's even more popular among the staff to hang out here than the Gym or any of the "proper" recreational areas.

The Chemistry sub-department of the Science Department gets this little nook just to have a massive amount of coffee and snacks mere feet away. Good work team.

today i learned that Vault88 build zone is effing massive like just look at this pic of it you can build all the way from vault88 to
milton general hospital and university point

Fun fact: the Children Of Atom folks that patrol a settlement led by Hubert... are auto hostile to that random encounter Eyebot advertising a job at Cambridge Polymer Labs.

Secondary detail: NPCs dont seem to care about causing friendly fire with grenades... and CoA can spawn with Nuke Grenades.

so the over preachy religious cult doesnt like it when a floating robot comes to town to perch about a job opportunity at a lab

It scared the heck out of me, I was just at Sunshine doing some late night weapon upgrading, and suddenly I hear a whole lot of vaguely religious themed yelling and nuke-explosions... so I go over and see what the heck is going on, assuming they'll need some help, and the half dozen CoA guys were "fighting" that one Eyebot.

after reading that i now wish i could make a asam plot that lets me make very gruesome "not welcome here" signs just a plots that has dead synth, robots, coa, gunners, raiders, minutemen, bos or institute
