Question Sim Settlement Foundation Question

Hi there,

So basically I just returned playing FO4 and spent hours editing sanctuary hills and a couple of settlements. I grew tired of manually managing my mod so I went to nexus and found this mod and its great.

My question is, is there a way/option in sim settlements where I place a new manager and the mod not destroying/creating its foundation? I mean I love the foundation feature and how it works but I spent hours and hours on editing sanctuary hills and don't want that to be ruined. I would love to use the foundation feature on other settlements, but is there a way to use the city manager and my edits to sanctuary hills not being destroyed?

Thanks for your help.

Do you mean the foundation layer that appears after you select a plan? This build up (Level 0), after you have selected a plan, and if you have a leader. If you start by saying no leader, I will manage it myself, then you select a new leader, they will then start the city building process for you. The foundation layer may be re drawn and then the plots will appear. (If I understand your question)!

I don't have any problem with the foundations. What I'm asking is, is there a way/option that I can choose so that the city leader won't destroy things that I made on just some settlements?

if you want city plans - they need to destroy everything that is in place otherwise they won't work correctly (pathing, overlapping etc).
If you want city plans - let them build and get to level 3 then come along and make the changes you want.
or - don't use city plans on something you've built and want to keep.

Well said. Don't think I understood the question properly, but you have hit the button!

also - i would not - ever - use a city plan in sanctuary. that settlement is problematic.

there are a few threads in these forums highlighting the issues around it - although the exception that proves the rule is kinggath's mighty 50-settler city that he built during his play through series.

you can see this on you tube and its worth your time to follow along the episodes as they are educational and often quite funny.

Thanks for that man. Guess I'll only use the city plans to the other settlements.
