Settlements not producing food.

Brand new to this mod and I've been trying to get everything working for two days.
The Ag plots are built and assigned, but their isn't any food production at any of my 7 settlements.
My settlements also won't finish building anything. I'm wondering if this is a "real time build" setting issue, but i cant find an option to change anywhere in the desk.

I'm more than likely just over looking some detail and over thinking things. Can someone please help this poor Noob.

Update 1: Real Time building is NOT turned on.

No worries, we all need a hand sometimes.

1st - The Option you are asking about.
At the desk the menus are:
Options
Gameplay Options
Immersion Options

Pict. below
let's see if this helps.
Other things are refreshing the plots or even all plots in a settlement. Sounds like you know how to assign settlers as they have already started building...

My realistic build times is turned off.
Any other suflggestions? Maybe I should refresh everything?

That would be a great place to start. I would use the desk and refresh the plots at the entire settlement. A splash prompt will tell you not to leave the settlement until all the plots have refreshed.

Then give it a few days in-game. What I mean, is refresh “when complete”, leave that settlement go somewhere else “sleep” and / or do another quest. Then come back a few in-game days and check. Make sure a settler is assigned to the plot before leaving.

I am not sure how much time you are willing to invest fixing your issue. Below would be a test you could try if the above does not work.

I would go back to a save where you first started placing the plots in the “1st” settlement. You can go back to the current save later. Place one Ag-plot, assign a settler and then give it a few days in-game. What I mean is set it up, leave that settlement go somewhere else “sleep” and / or do another quest. Then come back a few in-game days and check.

It is a-bit confusing to me that there is no food being produced at all 7 settlements from the Ag-plots. If you built all 7 settlements really quick, I am not sure but think that may clog things up a-bit.

Has this always been the case or did it just start? Did they ever produce food?

Also, are these plots generated by ROTC as a settlement or plots that you individually placed?

In fo4 problems get baked into a save file you may need to go back to an earlier save and try again making sure the plots are working before putting a lot of time into progressing the game.

If the above does not work then it gets more Technical: Some mods may not have installed correctly and need to be manually installed / re-installed, troubleshooting load order and looking for conflicts and / or using tools like Loot, f4edit and fallrim.

Lastly, not knowing your game a painful but common problem fo4 is save file corruption “modded-game or vanilla”. Then going back or starting over is likely.

Sorry about being long winded but it is a process. Still, I hope it helps. We all are noobs. I just felt bad you were having problems nav-ing the desk menus. :aggro

If you're new to the mod - you might also be running into Dynamic Needs. As your settlements start fleshing out, they need more food, water, defense, and other things.

If you choose the View Plaque option on one of your farms, it will tell you how much food it is producing. You'll also notice it is reducing your water. Each plot has similar effects. So it's possible the other plots are dragging your food down further than your farms can keep up with - which is a sign you need more agriculture (at least for now... Sim Settlements is designed so that over time, you can swap out plots for other things as your settlement evolves and the settlers get better at producing things).
