RoTC - Followers/Leaders questions

Hello! First time poster here.

I'm going through yet another full survival play thru using sim settlements. Now with RoTC! Thank you for this very fun and immersive addition to the game.

Questions:
1) With the number of current default companions, I am going to run out of leaders for my settlements correct?
2) Are there any follower mods that work properly, as settlement leaders? I downloaded 3 different follower mods to add more potential leaders and they couldn't be assigned as leaders of my settlements.
3) Do we have any information or an ETA on when expanded leadership updates will be coming?

thank you.

Sorry but you're going to have to wait like the rest of us. Currently the only settlement leaders are the vanilla game companions.

Kinggath and company are working on a City Builders Toolkit, that will allow anyone to design city plans, to be released sometime this month (hopefully). I believe they are planning to include with that a mechanism to create and appoint alternate city leaders.

What happens, if you have a leader assigned to one settlement, then take them on as a follower, and then assign them as a leader of another settlement? Do all the structures of the first settlement explode and delete? Or does it just hang there until another leader is assigned?

Thanks for the reply. I can build custom settlements in some locations to even it out. My current companion is a mod-follower so I can make my vanilla followers lead my settlements.

Please see the FAQ on the wiki.

Additionally. Building all 27-29(?) settlements to lvl 3 cities might kill you machine...

Nothing gets exploded unless you wanted it to do that. If you "take over" the settlement AND select to raise it all down, there's a dialogue asking you if you're sure. So you'll know if it about to happen.
