Old Paul is now stuck in my TARDIS.

He's happy with the place, but a real drag for Ivy and Darlene - keeps pinching their butts. I think he knows better than to try that with Valkyrie..

Could someone please post his base ID so I can moveto player him outta there? Thanks!
 
I did some more poking about and even after a fresh install, the Designer's Choice option doesn't seem to work. I have no idea what's going on, or if I'm just misunderstanding what the choice for Red Rocket is.
 
So I’ve been trying to mess around with the hud some more tonight fresh game no more vis g or def hud ui. I can get the resource panel to work in workshop mode only still. I have all the never hide options setup and can get the holo to stay lite up but the problem is that the holotape has no options for not autohiding the resource panel it’s only option is hidden. I’m guessing the holotape is overriding the mcm settings cause everything else works fine just not the resource panel. Hopefully this makes the 1.0.1 patch as I really would like the resource panel to show when I get to the settlements. The holo tool from the city desk only hides or unhides the augmented reality portion. As far as hot keys I have not looked that far into it yet.
 
Yep.. I have to hotkey in the resource panel outside of workshop mode, but it automatically displays when in workshop mode. If I understood Kinggath correctly, that is the way it is meant to work. The status panel does show outside of workshop mode automatically for me, but others only get a quick flash up and then it hides again when walking into settlement range.
 
Yeah just watched raybo’s video on the hot keys that more or less nails it for me And what needs to be done cause I want the slider chart open when I walk into a settlement and the resources as well. I also play on controller cause I play on a 65 inch tv so have to get back a ways. It seems like the holotape could be redone to allow the resource and slider panel to either have the autohide options or never hide options as it sits now it’s only hidden out of workshop mode. Guess I’ll need to set up some hot keys wonder if I can set it to one of the lesser used controller buttons maybe the reload or something.
 
Ran into an issue on this version with Hub of the Problem.

After meeting with Jake I went and stayed in the Charleston Condo because it was night.
Jake then followed me to Vautltec HQ but did not enter.
Went back outside for him (knowing it probably would not work) and Jake was gone.
Reloaded and ran back again, created a save outside in the chair.
This time I noticed Jake was unresponsive to talking to him.
Went back in and same thing, no Jake.
Reloaded in the chair, grabbed his ID number and went inside, no Jake.
I moved Jake using moveto and he did nothing initially.
Once a ghoul came running out the script "enabled" itself and resumed as normal. (good failsafe btw)

I want to say I think I broke a script where he babbled along the way to the Vault Tec HQ? I seem to recall him talking along the way on previous runs.
i had roughly the same issue and solved it in the same way ... it repeated itself in the cellar and moveto solved it once again
 
Does "uncommandable NPCs" include, say, Vault-tech Rep? I pointed him to Sanctuary but he assigned himself to a martial plot, couldn't have that, so I stored the plot in hopes he would jump onto the open commercial plot. Didn't happen and now I can't assign him to anything.

That NPC is buggy, even in vanilla.

When he is first sent to Sanctuary he is NOT a commandable settler yet.
You have to talk to him a second time and offer him a job.

You should only talk to him once he is in Sanctuary after a fresh save because the script has a high chance of bugging out.
You will hire him and then he will say "Stop yanking my chain" which is supposed to fail the conversation. However he will appear commandable after that.
Other times the conversation goes the way it is supposed to. Rylie and Gene has that same weird conversation bug.

From there his script gets messy because he can revert to not being commandable. Which is a recent new thing since last UOF4P mod or with SS2, I dunno.
While it is cool to collect all the rare vendors, I no longer pick him up because he bugs out like that because you can not even access his default bartering anymore.
 
Yep, and for me doesn't work. As far I know, a hotkey only call an action. If the action doesn't work manually, it hardly work with a shortcut. Has no sense switch between "hide-never hide" when is "always invisible" (or almost, except in fast travel, when randomly show a blink of the status and then fade away)

In my first playthrough (IIRC v1.0.0a) I was playing around with the HUD options in both MCM and holotape. I ended up never seeing the resource meter again and the holo icons permanently on. I was unable to change this no matter the MCM or holotape settings. They did blink when you entered a settlement, but that was it. Take this with a grain of salt, as I had other issues with the base game going on at the time.

On my second playthrough, I vowed to not play with these settings until I saw something listed in the patch notes. Then somewhere before New Plots on the Block, the HUD meters showing in workshop mode was spotty at best. Seemed like they would appear the first time you entered workshop mode and then hit or miss after that. Then in another thread I saw Raybo's video and setup hotkeys. The HUD meters turn off any time I exit workshop mode, but that is the default behavior. If there is script lag, the meters can take a few tries to appear by hitting the hotkeys.

If I remember, I can try playing with these settings again and see if I can permanently prevent the HUD meters from showing again.

Or, I suppose you could just use the TARDIS to go back in time to BEFORE OP was stuck in it. (Wibbly-wobbly)

I was finishing off Vim and Vigor in the workshop and I think Old Paul had "senior moment." He came running down to the shop.

Then he passed it on to Jake...

In the middle of uploading the holotape Jake decides he is going upstairs. So I go upstairs and finish the quest New Plots on the Block. (I chose skip explanation.)
Then while I am tryign to talk to him he is already walking off downstairs....

The voice audio on the radio and for the actors are still really low.

Found his id: xx047b0a and moved him back to RR. But the old f'er followed me again so I disabled him

I finished his pug dog quest, and really didn't want him constantly following me asking for f'ing dog food all the time.
I wanted to unlock the other plots but the cheat tool in the holo didn't work. Unless it takes awhile for the script to kick in..
(I consider this my break testing playthru for ss2, mainly focuses on being Synth Player/father companion game. Already wiped out BoS & RR. Actually a very fun game this time around)
