Solved Playing multiple factions?

Does anyone know if it’s safe to play as multiple factions at once? As an example maybe you have one outpost and a few vassals under the raider faction, and a different outpost/vassals under the BoS addon faction. In particular, I’m curious if there’s any game breaking weirdness that occurs as a result.

You are either a raider or you're not.
You can probably get away with using BoS, RR or Institute alongside raiders but you cannot side with the MM and be a rider at the same time.
Conqueror is designed that you would pick a side (conqueror or liberator) and stick to it.

All this is said under the pretence that you have no faction packs installed, if you do then you can't play both sides at any time.

I should have been more specific, by factions I did mean the groups from faction pack. But you covered it anyways, thanks.
