Only "Random" showing in residential plot build menu.

This has happened in the second settlement so far. It first showed up at Abernathy Farm and now at Murkwater. After laying out and choosing the building plan for the first few residential plots I now only get "**Random" showing up in the build list. Any ideas as to why?

I have started a conversation on this issue with Raybo. I think anyone having this issue should join the conversation. The more info we get the better.
Can't seem to find that conversation anywhere. Link is dead, and the topics don't show up in manual or search bar searches of the bugs section, or discussions section for SS2. Anyone have any updates on this issue, or threads discussing it?

Any info you can spare would be very much appreciated. :)

It's come up a few times; normally using the "Refresh Cache" option under Tools->Advanced Tools in the holotape fixes it, as long as you wait a moment for that script to do its thing.
No luck yet figuring out why it happens in the first place, though...

I have only had that happen to me once in an early SS2 version. As building plans are Weapon records, I wonder if it is possible for a weapon mod to conflict? It seems highly unlikely though.

Was there ever a fix found for this? When I search Google, this is the only hit about Random. I am 58 hours into a game and this just cropped up. I have a lot of settlements but relatively nothing is built on them as far as SS2 content. I have done the quests up to the Vault-Tec basement where I diverged to do Far Harbor. I am afraid to touch any of the script instances in the save file with ReSaver (Fallrim Tools) as I am certain that will destroy it completely.

I still havent had any luck finding the root cause myself, it hasnt happened again for me since and that includes TRYING the couple of triggers I suspected for it. Dont know if anyone else had any success.

This is a weird issue. Its so random, no pun intended... :punish

Once a procedure to reliably replicate this is found, it wouldn't take much to get a fix. As of now we're only throwing darts in the dark. The most plausible guess I have seen is the game bugging out from having to many building plans. That would explain why I have never seen this as I usually keep my load order short for testing.

Personally that's not where I was even looking, since I have almost all of the Addon Packs installed and I've never seen it happen on 2x2 Residential (which is by far the one with the most plot designs)

This started happening to me a few weeks back. Seems to only affect Residential Plots. Don't know if it started after updating a mod or the load order got changed. Only big hassle is that it makes it hard to change plot to Multiple bed plots.

As a follow up to my previous post, the 2x2 industrial plot selection started acting normally not long after I made that post. The 2x2 commercial plots are still showing incorrectly when I try to manually select the plot - being mostly replaced with municipal plots. Letting the system auto-select the plot does build commercial units. This doesn't seem to be affecting the other size commercial plots.

Resetting the cache never worked for me. Strangely, the industrial 2x2s were also briefly affected but managed to clear the issue on their own after I spent some time wandering around and staying out of my active settlements. 2x2 commercial thus far has remained borked regardless of what I've tried. My very first playthrough with SS2 it was the 2x2 residentials that were messed up. It's a very strange issue.

Problem that happens somewhere and sometimes are, by experience the hardest to fix, and having to deal with many concurrent threads working on the same data sure doesnt help.
This one looks simple: you ask wor a list of available plots, you open the plots db, filter it for those not yet available and display them. Simple and linear compared to showing how much water you have available for example.
Wonder what could interfere with available plots db and do it only if there is an unknown condition and just on a part of the db, residences or, in my case, municipal.
All that only in one settlement when the plots db should be the same in all settlements, if i can build advanced farms in Sanctuary i also can on the new settlement i just unlocked.
Plot choice uses the same routine of trading and uses, i think, the same filter used in shop not making available some weapons before u have reached a minimum level; i dont know mods that could interfere with it apart maybe some cheat mods 'everything available now at 1 cap cost' that i dont think any of us harcore player is using.
I personally use just Valdacil to have all 10 mm guns listed together and not sorted alphabetically by the mod they have. I use it from day one of FO4 because Bethesda inventory managements sucks hard, think it's a trademark, and i never had any problem with it

I started a new play through because people reported that the combined extended and SS2 package caused issues. Right out the box, following the first tutorial on the industrial and agricultural, industrial buildings only have random for a choice. Since random is random, I might have 10 things making organics and none making wood and so on. My old save is archived so I can go back to it and the previous mod version if I need to but wanted to let you know that random has returned. Resetting the cache didn't work. It never has for me. Once this hits, it's forever.
