i recently decided to give f4vr another try and previously sim settlements and lots of its addon packs have worked fine with vortex but this time it crashes immediatley if i install any addon packs. iv been testing them one at a time. i have horizon, sim settlements and the unofficial update then trying any ss addon pack causes a crash. i know ss wasnt made for vr but does anyone have any ideas why this might have occurred?

Have you checked the sticky on the Sim Settlements Nexus post page? Unfortunately Bethesda hasn't patched the VR version for the latest version of FO4 or the creation kit so any mod updated after Oct-Nov 2019 is generally not compatible with VR (or older versions of the game). The safest way is to use Sim Settlements version 4.1.7 and matching versions for expansion-, faction- and addon packs. The riskier version is to hack the mods so that your game bypasses the version setting, or change it yourself in FO4 edit. This method means that you can break your saves, since Bethesda also added new functionality that some mods use (e.g Workshop Plus by kinggath).
