Icons meaning / What plots can do (tutorial?)

I would like to know what the various icons are meaning. Especially those in the side (apart from the obvious ones, like water settlement, or beds etc.)
And also the one with the wrench and an other tool which can be seen on the top right of the screen ( right now I personally have -176/1200). It was -176/600, but I
built an industrial plot, so it raised to -176/1200. But either way I cannot comprehend this.

Is there a tutorial on the various plots' help, or what do they exactly raise in a settlement and how they affect the settlement stats in general?
There don't seem to be a good tutorial as of now...

What do you mean it's just a matter of having enough of the lower tier Industry at enough Upgrade level/s?

Basically, I don't know when the various plots upgrade... I mean, does it happen automatically when the settlers are happy enough to do it by themselves?
Plots will be ready to upgrade (either automatically or manually, depending on your settings) when certain conditions are met, e.g. enough water, food, power, happiness and building materials. Then, once you have a certain number of plots and those plots have upgraded, you'll unlock the next type of industrial plot (which I'm pretty sure is Organics production but the wiki says it's Machine Parts?)

Also, to change the building type, I just ''buy'' the specific type I want from the ASAM menu?
Exactly

Ok, something new. How can I undo the tracking settler option in various plots? It seems that icons remain for long time :/. Can I reset it so they dissapear?

Also, my residential plots, have red little house icons above them. Also, when I press onto the lot, it says that it requires power.. But settlers are already assigned on them, and also there are power poles along them (telephone). So, why those red icons?

Go into the ASAM and select "Track Occupant" again and the compass marker(s) will disappear.

At Level 1 they don't require power as far as I know, but they will after so no reason to wait to wire the poles together and to a generator

That's right, they unlock in the order they are on the HUD - Building, Organic, Mechanical, Rare. That one page on the Wiki must've just been copy-paste filled out in a hurry or something.

Not sure what happened. :sorry I've made some updates to information on that page. Resources information is on a couple of pages and there are likely more things to update as well.

So, why do the little house icons above my residential plots are red coloured? Also, I think that when I connect the poles to a generator, the plot still says that it has no power

If it's the one in the very top left, that's just the icon to show that it is a Residential. Red's the colour they chose for that.
It's only icons in the third "row" that are 'problems' you need to address.
This page on the wiki has been updated (within the past 6 hours! thanks, Cessori!) to have enough info to get started:

When you say "the plot still says that it has no power", where are you looking for that information? The 'Holo Icons'? The vanilla workshop HUD?

Because I learn as I go, I would like to ask something about city plans... I just saw that there are add-ons, both as building plans for plots and as whole city plans.

So, I would like to ask, a downloaded add-on building plan, can be simply chosen in the ASAM's building plans, when I want to build a specific plot of specific size and type.
Question 1: Are there levels on those? I mean if I leave it like this, and settler are happy, will just build it and let it be, or will he be able to upgrade that also?

Question 2 on city plans:
I downloaded some add-on city plans. If I go, put a leader, and then select a city plan, the plots I have previously put will be scrapped by the settlers before they begin creating the selected city plan???

So, city plans in general are a 'whole array of lots' , which are built by settlers themselves and eventually the whole thing becomes a big entire city, as I can understand..

Question 3: When settlers try to scrap the settlement, is there a possibility of clashing with the 'scrap everything' mod I have?

Question 4: When city plans are being made, will the plots be built at first, and then I have to go and assign them to a settler and choose a building plan myself, or
there are pre-defined building plans in each and every plot of the total city plan (defined by their creators), so I don't have to do anything at all??

Thank you all, for all your kind help. I am a newcomer/noob when it comes to this amazing mod, so i want to learn everything about it. Sorry for being a burden on your back to answer me :)

1. Yes, Addon Pack Plots can still level up. There is only a handful of total plot designs among all the addon packs that don't, I'd estimate below 1%.

2. When you start a City Plan, the first phase before the city starts building is 'cleanup' which would include scrapping any plots you'd already built there beforehand. However, once the City is already built, you can put anything else you want afterwards. Only catch is that if it's the kind of city plan that can level up (yes they can be configured to do that just like plots) it might place things overlapping with what you built in the meantime - there's no 'second phase' of scrapping stuff on leveling up.

3. "Scrap Everything" is almost universally considered a 'bad' mod around here. The way it works involves 'breaking' something integral to how Fallout4 works 'under the hood', and will at the very least result in your PC having to work harder.

4. There's an option under the City Plan section of the SS2 settings for what is called "Designer's Choice" - with that set to ON, the plots will all build exactly the same buildings as the city's designer intended (assuming you also have any addon packs they might've used to make it). With it OFF, the plots will still be placed, of the same type eg Industrial, but which actual building gets placed on it is random.

To add to 4. If you have auto-assign on and skill requirements off, the settlers should get assigned to all the plots without you having to do anything about it. Also, individual city plans may or may not have specified a plan for each plot, and if not, they'll just build a random plan of the same type like it would when you plop it down yourself.

I really am so thankful for your help!! But things come up all the time with more questions (sorryyy)

Question 1: Ok, so right now I tried to build an add-on residential plot, but it asked for electricity?? (third row, negative icon with the lighting colour).
And in the general menu, it said that the settlement as a whole had no electricity, the bar was completely empty.
However, when I destroyed it, it came back to normal... I don't know what is the case about it.

Question 2: Also, in Sanctuary, I have an industrial plot left unassigned and tries to build I suppose... When I press on the ASAM, it says that building tries to do something and there is no menu. Also, the person icon above the plot is red, which means it is unassigned. I tried to find a settler to assign, but all of them are already assigned somewhere either in defence (Jun Long for example), or in farming (Mama Murphy, Marcy Long etc etc).

Question 3: Speaking about farming, my farming plots right now, have the negative trait of the bad face in the third row. I don't know why, supposed that in general bars down to the left, all are completely full (beds, defence, food, water etc). and settlers are halfway happy (the happiness bar is half full). Do you know what is the case with it?

1. Electricity is quite finicky, especially if you're using the "Municipal Power" systems. Not really much I can suggest there that you didn't already try.

2. I've never seen that before. It shouldn't even try to build unless someone is assigned to it... although, keep in mind, Codsworth lives in Sanctuary too (by default), and he is notoriously bad about refusing to stay assigned to ANYTHING - he does that in vanilla too, the only job he'll keep for certain is the vanilla "Provisioner" thing. Preston is bad for it too until you've completed that one quest to "retake The Castle". If you have Auto-assign turned on, it might've tried to put them onto a job and then they lost it.

3. The sad face there means the plot wants more Happiness before it's eligible to upgrade. The requirement there is 70+ for upgrading to level 2, and I'm pretty sure it's 80+ for upgrading to level 3.

When I press on the ASAM, it says that building tries to do something and there is no menu.
I have seen this. Basically the plot is stuck trying to initialize so it thinks its "busy." This locks out the menu so there is no way to refresh the plot. Picking up the plot in workshop mode also does not refresh the plot. The only solution I have found is to store the plot and place it back down. It seems this happens when placing a lot of plots down when the scripts are backed up. I have a bug report filed on this issue. I assume it won't be addressed until after chapter 2 is released.
@yaugieLC FYI ^^^^

Yes, the only one came to my mind was to store the plot completely and build it again. But as for the settlers numbers, what will happen if I create a plot and it cannot find someone to assign it to??

Codsworth is a pain in the ass I was searching for him for ages, I wanted to make him companion along Jake and dog haha.
Finally I used VIP tracker and found him. He was assigned to scavenging??? I don't know how he was assigned to it though...

You are right about Preston, I think you have to complete a quest before he can be assigned.

I don't know what is this Muncipal power systems... When I built the add-on building plan, it asked me for electricity, it had a red icon in third row as a negative.

If there isnt anybody working a plot, it shouldnt do anything - shouldnt build, no costs or anything like that. Only way to make it work would be to recruit more people, or move someone off some other plot instead.

Municipal is one of the seven types of Plot, you get them later on in the questline. Thats where all the stuff that doesnt really fit under the other categories goes - Power and Water are under that type, as are Caravans.
Was it a multi person plot you built? Those might want power right away rather than just when it is time to upgrade.

Yeees it was multi-person!!! An add-on DLC, residential plot! So that is the explanation about iit!!
DO you know how do I power it up? I am early in the quest though and haven't unlock many plots/features yet

But the agricultural plots hadn't the sad faces. Only now I noticed them. So, is it a sign that settlers are waiting to upgrade it?
My general happiness bar is full though
