HUD above plots falsely shows not enough water/ beds

Hello everyone!

First of all I wanted to say that I am beyond impressed by Sim Settlements and Tales of the Commonwealth. I am in awe an bow before thee.
Ok, but I came crawling out of the woodowork because I just couldn't find a solution for my "problem".

I am not sure yet if it even is a real problem (sorry).

Here's the thing:

So the Settlement HUD is showing me red icons for Water and Housing (sometimes even electricity) and it doesn't matter how many water pumps I put directly in front of the plots, nothing changes. (But the happiness is at 90 so nothing seems all too wrong)

Then there's the housing problem, that happens to be with every single Multi- Plot that's supposed to be able to house more than 1 person and indeed multiple people do move in BUT there's only 1 bed and that leads to this problem.

Overall I have 25 Bed's in Sanctuary in the moment, the HUD says I have capacity for 17 people and 19 are staying there.

I don't really know what to do any more to make it better.

I'm so sorry, if this was asked and answered already, but I couldn't find something similar so I posted it.

Thank you for reading and taking the time to help!

I believe there's an option in the SS2 configuration that caps settlers to bed count, though I don't know if it's ON the maximum settlers(capacity) value changes to match or is still bound by a city plan(or it's current level). Looking at the layout though, I'd say that's not a city plan.

About the 19/17 - that part of the widget is intended for city plans to let you know how many people the city plan is intended to support. I'm not sure what it means in a non-city plan context. In terms of the water, it might mean there is not enough water to upgrade the plot. Meaning there's enough water to meet current needs, but not for the building plan to upgrade to the next level. If you have dynamic needs on, water needs increase pretty substantially as a lot of plots go up in level. You may want to build a municipal water plot as that will just about double the amount of water you have.

I guess I don't understand the housing situation? It is showing that you have 25 beds which indicates you should be fine in that respect.

The thing is that the same way that the water Icon is red the House Icon is red, too on some of the plots (the multi ones).
So my guess is, that even though multiple people are moving in, it is kind of registering as not enough space available?

So the Residential Plot icon (red house) is always red. It will never not be. So you don't need to worry about that. The problem red icons appear below the information about the level and the occupants (like the red water drop). The residential icon probably should not have been red by default because it creates these points of confusion, but that's the way it is I guess. It's just a function of so many of the other colors already being in use (blue for commercial, yellow for industrial, purple for recreational, green for agriculture, orange for municipal, etc. etc. - not sure what other color would be available).

Perhaps, but very often it's fluctuating. One moment it can say it support 15 settlers and the next moment it drops to 11.
In my experience it also sometimesaffects bed count/bed assignment. Here is another thread about it:

Yeah - again I am not sure what that number signifies if you are not using a city plan. For City plans it is hardcoded based on data entered by the city planner - they enter exactly how many settlers each level of the city plan is supposed to support and that is the number assigned. It does not fluctuate if you add beds or jobs or whatever (at least that I've seen). It only tends to move around like that when you are not using a city plan, but again I don't really pay attention to it in that circumstance because my understanding is that those numbers are strictly for helping you keep track of how many settlers a city plan is supposed to support and how many you have.
