I am not sure if this kind of thread is appropriate for "Question & Help". But this definitely does not fit with "Discussion", so I post here.

As the title states, how is your 1st impression of Chapter 3?
Because I have discarded the previous MOD environment for SS2, I will not be able to play it for some time, and would very much like to hear your thought and opinion about it (as well as some advice). Thanks in advance!

I’ve only managed to do The second mission, had to skip to it Cus I wasn’t sure how to start, got to the vertibird stage and couldn’t progress as Lupe couldn’t get in range (flown around for at least 30 mins), skipped that mission to progress past the black screen (wasnt a fix at the time), now I need to talk to Ron who won’t do anything and recruit Salvador where I dont Have a marker to go to so idk how.
thinking about making a new save Idk anymore.
This sounds like script lag. I think I would go back to before loading Chapter 3 and try and clear things up a bit. I thought avoiding workshops and instead waiting underground would help but actually it seems like going into workshop mode and visiting my settlements was more helpful. For some time near the end of Chapter 2 I was experiencing really long save times I assume because of scripts backing up. During that time I was away from settlements doing Milas for Tinker Tom. Eventually I got to the point my game would lock up every time I tried to save and I would have to reboot my PC. I had to go back 4hrs in saves forget Tom and the Milas and just focus on my settlements to get the problem to clear up. I was killing time in game last night and the problem has not come back since Ive been using workshop mode more often.

I gotta say that the "gameplay" stuff like aiming vertibird or binoculars could use some tuning. Unless Lupe yelling about coming in and out of range all the time is intentional. Eventually it got close enough that it was possible to take it down. But that didn't take half an hr at all. Quest skipping may have broke it for you. You go to the Ron with Theresa, if she's not with you I guess the quest doesn't play out. I'd suggest updating and rolling back.

I just did the most recent update and rolled back to a save before any chapter 3 missions, can’t start the first mission. I’m not sure what the fix was for that for xbox, would you happen to know?

It should start on its own, several days after Commonwealth Rising. Is that not happening? Aiden should call you on the radio, you could try calling him yourself. Maybe you need to complete Remote Management (or start and complete it if you haven't).

I finished Chapter 2 this weekend and spent the rest of the time making sure everything was ready. Last night I installed Chapter 3, actually the all in one pack and removed SS2 and Chapter 2 because it said extended was missing because I dont think I was using it during Chapter 2. Everything started right and I was going through the quests until I got stuck at the binoculars. They wont trigger anything. Ive tried everything I can think of even walking all the way to it with the binoculars enabled the whole time. The location is marked as cleared on my pip boy. I decided the best thing I could do was leave the area and wait till the enemies respawned but Im a week or so past this point now. Sleeping 24hrs at different locations as I check in on settlements. Anyone got any tips on this, I dont want to use the skip or console if I can get past this a better way. Was hoping I missed a late night update as I got some hits on a search for binoculars so Im not the only one. They mentioned the location being cleared as the potential cause of the problem which is why I tried to sleep it off.
Try tagging the base of the flag pole with the flare gun. That seemed to work for me.

Some of the Territories will not activate the Workshop mode. The auto wreckers the Gunners control by Finch Farm and the supply cache sight in the glowing sea are the 2 problem ones. I can activate the R to see bonuses and stuff but not the workshop to build anything. Also trying to complete the Quest State of War but am having problems figuring out what counts as a Gunner Territory.

There may be a reason for the one at the Hub City Auto Wreckers, but the other I don't know.
As far as finding Gunner Territory, I used places where gunners are in the vanilla game.
Mass Fusion, Hallucinogen, Hub City Auto Wreckers, and the place where you chase down the courser. Greentech Genetics.

does anyone know how to start the NLTC quests ? I met that woman in that house near Bunker Hill, but after that I never heard anything again.
I'm curious about that too. The wiki says something about a message in an Inbox. What inbox?

Edit: Found it outside my room at HQ. It's a lovely brown color similar to the wall behind it.

Those are getting constant tweaks; I actually saw kinggath reply to Kottabos's playthrough on Youtube saying the vertibird sequence definitely needs more work in an "it worked fine in internal testing, better check the code" kind of way.

Ahh the bane of programmers across the world: it worked fine in testing, yet in the live version, it's borked to all hell.

It was bound to happen with a project like this. The variance in 'world state' and thus system load between everyone's games is already an impossible amount of variables, even before considering the functionally-infinite probability space of differing Mod Load Orders...

I actually remember saying pre-release that my bet was the "in engine cutscene" of the Vertibird going down would be the spot that broke the most. I didn't anticipate the raid mechanics themselves being the issue, or more specifically the "location detection".

What's even more insane is the team were able to wrangle the game to do their bidding. What they have managed to pull off is a miracle. Even with all the bugs and issues, it's still an amazing mod. I don't think I'd have put as many hours into Fallout 4 without it.

I know I'm being a whiney little bich lately, but I 100% agree. The fact that I can see what they're trying to do is what's keeping me around trying to help fix it so it all works - what amounts to my own "dream game" is in here somewhere.

I would love to learn how to live stream a playthrough. I'm at level 84 right now and using a mod called "Modern Weapons" that gives you weapons like the HK-416, M-4, M-61 Vulcan, Accuracy Arms .50 cal sniper rifle, and even an 88mm cannon! I don't use city plans though as I get too many crashes using them. I build what I need and place it anywhere I can fit it as for some reason Nexus won't let me download "place everywhere".

Are you trying to manually download or are you using a mod manager?
What message do you get when trying to download?
