I am not sure if this kind of thread is appropriate for "Question & Help". But this definitely does not fit with "Discussion", so I post here.

As the title states, how is your 1st impression of Chapter 3?
Because I have discarded the previous MOD environment for SS2, I will not be able to play it for some time, and would very much like to hear your thought and opinion about it (as well as some advice). Thanks in advance!

Per the wiki:
Chapter 3 Main Story Quests will begin when the following requirements have been met:

If requirements are met, you should receive an HQ Radio call when you exit to an exterior or fast travel to a new location.
Ok This seems to be my issue. I have finished Commonwealth Rising, and Sea to Glowing Sea. I can not get Remote Management to start. I have tried some force starts but it does not work. Is there any way to make that quest start?

Have you tried talking to Jake?
If so, then the wiki has this info:

Quest ID: SS2C2_Sirick_SQ02

You could set stage to 1.

That Quest Id is no longer valid, if you have updated SS2, SS2 - Chapter 2 and installed Chapter 3
If you have not updated, the current version numbers for PC are 3.0.0a

Quest IDs and Stages have been removed from the Chapter 2 Quest Guides, and it should be known that the use of console commands to force start or continue quests is not supported. Too many things can go wrong with your quests going forward if you use them. I'm also in the process of removing them from Chapter 1 Guides and they will not be included in Chapter 3 guides.

I have completely updated, but my save has a few (many) skipped quests. Do you think I need to start over?

I can't get CH3 to start. I got the "bad save" message so I went back to a save from before I installed CH3. I did the memory lounger quest and made sure all the other required quests were completed in my quest log. They are. I sat in chair for 20 minutes on the GNN roof and another 20 minutes at The Slog. Still nothing.

If it were me, I would. I have never skipped a quest and only used the set stage twice to get past a locked quest.
Especially when I was on Xbox I started over at least 14 times before completing HQ. Of course, a lot of that was my own fault, I didn't realize you couldn't just add quest mods, and then delete when you were finished. Even if you roll back you save to when you added the mod. I did that a lot at first and I am sure my game was totally FUBAR.

I don't feel like I've gotten far enough yet to give a proper assessment, especially since I've missed several scenes already due to having to console-command or use the Quest Skip Cheat in the holotape to bypass literal gamebreakers (had one lockup earlier that I couldn't get out of without hard powering off my entire PC). Which I guess says it all.

But since the forums aren't getting spam-flooded with bug reports, I guess it's just me that has this feeling of forcing my way through without especially enjoying it just to see where it goes.
I'm curious to learn more about your experiences yaugie, since you've spent a lot of time with the mod.
Are you running it in a large mod order? And have any of the hotfixes helped?

My load order's decently sized. Here, on Pastebin. I suspect, but can not prove, that "Institute Technology Overhaul" 'full' version has been the cause of at least one issue this playthrough. (and I have to say, don't bother with that "REAL.AI" that people on Nexus comments seem to think does everything up to and including dynamically fixing missing navmesh, all it really does is massively increase the range the Combat AI can spot each other)

I see there's a 3.0.0b version on Nexus but there's no notes for what it's done that I can find. As I posted further down the thread, my issues as it stands right now outside of this one issue where I have to 'research' something at HQ but it won't recognise having any resources for that one specific thing, currently I'd say I'm personally in "just needs some a few patches worth of balance/QOL work" territory for my overall thoughts. That said, on account of getting stuck I havent' finished the actual storyline yet - and I'm not saying anything beyond cheeky subtle spoiler-comments on that side of things until I do get to the end.

I don't know...I find Ch 3 a bit underwhelming to be honest. Don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed the "capture the flag" mechanic. Kinggath and the team did an amazing job at getting it before Starfield. Just wish I could progress. Hopefully the latest patch will fix the issue I'm having

I look here usually to see patch notes:

Thanks for the input, but I have not deleted ANY content/mods in a while. I'm PC and I was "supposed" to be able to skip some quests via holo. I really hope I can get this figured without starting over. I have done the HQ stuff about 3 too many times. I actually followed a guide on this website so I could speed up the process to get to Chapter 2.

OK I finally got the first Ch 3 quest to start by using the setstage cheat. It's pretty cool!

I managed to 'trick' it into letting me get past where I was stuck.

I'm not finished yet, but I've got a new favourite character.

Not this version of him. If you know, you know. Yes I am spoiler-tagging and still only saying something that'd make sense only in context

How much damn audio got recorded just for this section alone? THE SONG.

I've been taking haphazard notes, but I'm not going into any significant detail until more people have actually finished things, and even then maybe not until I do a fresh playthrough without all these glitches I've had.

I finished Chapter 2 this weekend and spent the rest of the time making sure everything was ready. Last night I installed Chapter 3, actually the all in one pack and removed SS2 and Chapter 2 because it said extended was missing because I dont think I was using it during Chapter 2. Everything started right and I was going through the quests until I got stuck at the binoculars. They wont trigger anything. Ive tried everything I can think of even walking all the way to it with the binoculars enabled the whole time. The location is marked as cleared on my pip boy. I decided the best thing I could do was leave the area and wait till the enemies respawned but Im a week or so past this point now. Sleeping 24hrs at different locations as I check in on settlements. Anyone got any tips on this, I dont want to use the skip or console if I can get past this a better way. Was hoping I missed a late night update as I got some hits on a search for binoculars so Im not the only one. They mentioned the location being cleared as the potential cause of the problem which is why I tried to sleep it off.

Not reading too much and hiding the spoilers but... Damn, so far it's amazing. I just remembered how much stuff ch2 added, ch1 set the gunners as the big bad nicely but ch2 gave us our own new faction and a couple others, really well made. With stuff you don't really expect like the sunken ship. And apparently now all that is just "midgame"? I hope I can get faction alliance without finishing the main quest cause that blows. Either way, gonna test later with Subversion etc.
This quest was insane, I didn't expect the very first thing we do to be a new HQ space and a horror sequence. I was terrified to move around in that final room. The resolution was a bit underwhelming after all that buildup but at least lore-friendly? Was fully expecting some new monstrosity with super powers. Or at least a wendigo or something. Also Muriel = Courage the cowardly dog reference? Even though this one is a guy so idk.
More NLTC stuff! Didn't expect anything new while doing the "usual" Nightingale stuff either. I wonder if that quest just fires up if you've done the whole thing previously. Not done their whole story yet but I like Allison and Jeremiah. Also Jeremiah spoils stuff if you talk to him when you're sent back to Lydia. Like Algernon used to do in the vault quest. Might wanna fix that. Also really curious how this storyline plays out.
Jake romance! (He looks like Ron Perlman from that angle though, I'm sorry but I can't take it seriously) Also sick Castle fort, has that always been the city plan? Seems to be made specifically for this. The whole attack was cool af too. The power armor guy did get stuck in a wall near the end, apparently. And yes, that vertibird scene was indeed in the game!

I’ve only managed to do The second mission, had to skip to it Cus I wasn’t sure how to start, got to the vertibird stage and couldn’t progress as Lupe couldn’t get in range (flown around for at least 30 mins), skipped that mission to progress past the black screen (wasnt a fix at the time), now I need to talk to Ron who won’t do anything and recruit Salvador where I dont Have a marker to go to so idk how.
thinking about making a new save Idk anymore.
