Happiness in all new settlements 0

I am currently using tree-in-one 3.4.4 version of SimSettlements and started a new playthrough. Whenever I unlock a new settlement the happiness is 0. The only settlement that did not start with 0 was Sanctuary. The happiness does not increase over time. I don't get happiness for food or water when I check the report. This was already reported here (https://www.simsettlements.com/site/index.php?threads/problem-with-the-happiness-report.7403/). Not sure if the 0-happiness-issue is linked to this report bug as well.

I had this happen to me other day. Know what the cause was?

I had scrapped my workbench by accident because it got removed because I moved or stored a floor tile it was sitting on.

I have not scrapped anything in the settlements nor do I use a scrap mod. Just unlocked RedRocket, Abernathy, Tenpines and Starlight. All 0 happiness.
Believe me, I would never ever touch the workbench (no scrapping, no moving). I did not have that issue with SimSettlements before v3.4.4.

The cause is the 1.0.3 version of Workshop Framework. I have a solution coming. Patch for WSFW will be out later today!

I have not scrapped anything in the settlements nor do I use a scrap mod.

Just figured I would ask the obvious, kinda like "does it have gas in it?"

I mean it took me days to figure out my workbench was missing (I ended up scrapping the entire character.) Then I only figured it out because my recruitment beacon refused to recruit a settler in a 0 population settlement. After getting fed up with the beacon I went to go push the Settlers Calling button and noticed my workbench was missing.

The fact that happiness dropped to 0 should have been my first clue.

My happiness did not drop to 0 it is 0 right at the beginning. So unlock settlement and start with 0. It does not change over time.

After installing the WSFW 1.04 still no changes sadly. I have unlocked Greygarden as a new settlement and still 0 happiness there. To prevent losing the settlements again I have set the happiness level from 0 to 50 with the console (in the other settlements Abernathy, Tenpines). But happiness does not change it just get stuck at 50. No changes at all (although they are all well supplied and the HUD indicates that the happiness should raise).

Edit: I tested it with WSFW disabled and waited 4 days. Happiness does not change.

Which AV command did you use to change the value? setav, modav, forceav?

Which happiness value did you adjust? Current or target?

I tried with setav and modav (click on workbench and add console command), for both same result. I also checked the save before I adjusted the level with the console but then I lose the settlements again cause of 0 happiness.

Which AV are you setting? It should be 129157

Used this command: setav 129157 50

Just used it to prevent losing the settlement shortly after unlocking it cause the happiness starts with 0 and stucks there. Already lost Tenpines ones and need to do another quest to unlock it again.
I have a save prior to the changes with the console command.

After you applied the update fix, you should have gone around and physically visited each settlement just to ensure the happiness got back on track. You are stuck with the corrupt data until you make a physical visit like the old 0 data corruption issues. Unless you have the SAK camera install, those "fake a physical visit." Since the AI is dumb it think you visited the settlement personaly. I found to great to apply SS changes and defend settlements without going.

One of the AV commands, forceav, will make the target only use that value. So if you used forceav 50 on current or target happiness it wont ever change. It almost sounds like you made that mistake, but when the scripting for the workshop goes wonky it takes a long while to correct itself.

If anything I would use the correct av command on the current happiness on the affected workshops (even without visiting them physically, just look on the Wiki for the list of workbench id#s) then make you rounds to visit all the corrupted ones.

Like when I used to deal with the triangle of hell years ago I would literally have to restart the game after visiting a corrupt settlement just so the scripting would correct itself. I am betting restarting/reloading after a visit to correct the corrupt data will put you back on track.

I also suspect the bug is a clash with another mod because I had been using the Workshop Mods since Ilja pointed them out and only updated them when the F4SE broke. I did not have any issue with the dozen or so times I claimed Sanctuary, Red Rocket, Sunshine, and Starlight. The only time I had an issue was because my dumb ass scrapped my own workbench by accident. Maybe the clash is with some of them cleaner type mods that create a duplicate workbench/cell?

Ok, so I need ya to trust me on this. I have like 4000+ hours played (you can see on Steam) and I literally spent 100s of hours years ago working with the triangle of hell data corruption.

Go to the settlement affected by the 0 happiness. Wait like a minute or two then open your workshop mode. You should see the green arrow for current happiness pointing upwards. Then save your game. Exit the game and reload the game. Then spend the next game day in that settlement until the current happiness upwards adjustment is applied. Since your happiness is so low it should jump by like 30-40 points back towards the target happiness. Once it makes that movement adjustment then everything should work fine. Proceed to the next settlement and repeat.

I do not know the technical reasons why you have to reload only that if you do not then the workshop scripting gets stuck with the current corruption. Maybe someone more educated on papyrus code can explain that.

Also keep in mind if your affected settlements are Sanctuary, Red Rocket, or Abernathy you will probably never get the data back on track for all three. Refer to the triangle of hell topic pinned in the forums.

I visited each settlement after the WSWF 1.04 fix and waited there for 4x24h. However, nothing changed, the happiness is stuck. I also reloaded my savegame prior to using the console and checked if this worked with the WSWF fix. But no luck at all. I also tried to unlock a new settlement (Greygarden) with the WSWF fix in place but it was the same as before. The settlement has 0 happiness after I unlocked it and it stucks there.
I have rolled back to SimSettlements v3.4.3, uninstalled Workshop Framework and Workshop Plus and started a new game. Everything works fine with the other mods I use (see OP for loadorder). Unlocked RedRocket and it has happiness 50 as it should be. With SS v3.4.4, WSFW 1.04 and Workshop Plus RedRocket had 0 happiness. So I am pretty sure there is still something wrong either with WSFW or SimSettlements3.4.4.

Sorry ya had to start a new game. I have had to do that like six or seven times this month due to faulty mods and my scrapped workbench. In fact I am just getting ready to start from my exit 111 save now.

Do yourself a big favor and visit the Triangle of Hell topic in the education section (think they call it death here.) Then do not bother to build up all three. I personally ignore Abernathy since it is bugged anyways. Also this sounds stupid, but dont build any radios in your settlement, something stupid about when you reach a certain distance the radio shutting off can mess with the workshop scripting. I thought the idea of it was brahminshit until I actually tried it and my amount of data corruption in settlements dropped to nearly zero.

In fact most games I skip right straight to Starlight and strip Red Rocket and Sanctuary and haul it all to Starlight and build there instead. That shopping cart in the river is very handy for this, just make sure nothing falls out, really suck hunting for 3k wood or steel lol.

I just realized something, I might not have seen the bug because I prebuild my settlements. Meaning I build all the beds, defense, put food in workshop/attach provisioner from somewhere else, catch some dogs and cats. THEN I turn my beacon on, this makes those first few settlers come in with a higher happiness (dunno why when their default is 50 happiness.)

Also you aint crazy and its not just you with the bug. I was able to help someone on Steam yesterday with the same issue.

I wanted to try out the WSFW and Workshop Plus mods and thought it might be worth starting a new game for that. Haven't build much cause I run into that happiness issue right at the beginning. So it's not that bad. But I would have loved to build with Workshop Plus. So much easier than before. Sad that it does not work for me. I stick with SimSettlements3.4.3 without WSFW. It works perfectly fine then, no happiness issues.

But anyway, thanks for the advises. I have already read the Death Triangle topic more than once and just build a tiny little bit in those settlements to avoid any issues. And yes, that radio thing is weird. So no music for my settlers either.

@Imemine I just posted 1.0.4a, we found another quirk in happiness/food/water calculations this morning - if you want to give it another go, the testers are reporting all is well!

That's great news. I'll definitely gif it another go and try if it works with my previous game.

I downloaded the newest version of Workshop Framework, installed, and . . . Starlight is stuck at 50. Tried using the console command to raise it and no go. Going to try some of the suggestions I read in comments above and see if it helps.
