Fixed Going to certain school BUG - quest doesn’t fire

Solution
If the quest Runners and Gunners isn't starting - it may be due to an alias issue - we were referencing a vanilla NPC that depending on which mods you had installed may have been removed or disabled preventing the quest from starting.

Installing this will attempt to auto-boot the quest on an existing save, but if that doesn't happen for you - you may want to roll back to the save before you started C2 and try again.

That leaves me with so many questions, especially since I can’t imagine which of the extremely limited mods I have would remove a vanilla Npc.
Oddly relatedly, certain terminals refer to a Detective Alias:Player Name - which seems off

do you have startup or settlers of the commonwealth?
those are my suspects

I have already debunked startup (at least for new saves) as I started a new game with it and it worked.

I tried this new beta, also rolling back to pre chapter 2 save, as well as disabling all mods but ss2 and still can't get Runners and Gunners to start. I'm at a loss, any suggestions?
 
This seems really crazy at this point. I don’t even know how to start a new game unless I had no mods and no CC. Seems like it works for some and doesn’t for some no matter the mods.
what I’ve gotten through in other parts is pretty awesome though.

Yeah. I still have the issue. I can talk to Aiden at Malden but after the dialogue he just stands there. I used the fix Kinggath posted, i've tried going back to previous saves before I even met Aiden at Concord to start chapter 2 turned off all my mods and still the issue persists. Gonna try a fresh run thru to see if that helps.
 
i have the same problem the npc tells me to meet him at malden HS wich on my map is vault 775 but the quest does not triger and when i get there the corpses of the previous run are still around so it could be related to the vault not yet respanwing but then i think the quest should have initialized at least?
also i am heading to Sb PD to turn in a couiple of scalps from around gunner radio to see if that triggers some more quests somehow!

As an update, I rolled back from my 80+ hour save about 20 hours and Runners and Gunners starts correctly this time. This attempt was the first time Aiden was able to move after finishing MQ15, every other time he was unresponsive and standing.

Hi Kinggath, I am having the same issue but when I try to access the link it says that it doesnt exist anymore. I am using versiion 2.0.0.m of the mods. Thanks in advanced for the work in the mods and also for your help.
 
Any beta fixes I post like that are usually incorporated into the next live build. So that fix is already in place. If you are still having the issue, please make a new post, and ideally include your save file so we can investigate. (You can tag me in the post with an @kinggath)
