Gauging Livestream interest

and you don't need to be subscribed to twitch to watch most streams. i watch Desertbus every year, but have never signed up for a twitch account because it's probably the only thing i watch on twitch.

i'd definitely watch the vod, but i am 15 hours off from yaugie, so any time convienent for them would probably be somewhere between zero-dark-thirty and the middle of the workday.
 
The recording of it will be available afterwards, unless I screw something up.
On that note, I'll be running a brief 'test run' at some point over the next few days to check my setup's working before the 'main event'. That won't be any kind of focused gameplay though, in the save I was going to use for the stream I'm presently ignoring Jake calling for quest "Moving Day" and going around to recruit my favourite crew to all live at the Training Compound I set up at Egret Tours Marina, so they can be dumped straight into HQ with even-better stats at the point that's available.

Alright, I think we worked out most of the kinks apart from that one USB port dropping connection every 2-3 minutes and that I need to learn to stop breathing out so damn heavily while my mic is live. Actual stream will be live in ~48 hours from now.

It appears streaming direct to Youtube automatically makes the 'playback' available once broadcast is over, too, so anyone that isn't there for it live will still be able to watch it without me having to do anything.

Looking at the playback now, I see what you guys meant about it appearing too dark; it didn't look that dark on my screen. Must be a gamma thing.

EDIT: Turns out it's not the USB port, it's the mouse that's the problem. This can be fixed.

For anyone that can't make it, could you post some things you'd like me to cover in this thread?
I will be stepping through quest "How to HQ" and probably "Commonwealth Rising" (I've set up things such that I can just go straight through, except for the 1000 Power shared but that's a quick fix), and I'm aware of most of the common concerns, but I have a bad habit of forgetting details.

A tutorial on how to use the HQ work bench showing cleaning, building, recruiting, and upgrading, and all other aspects of using the work bench would be useful to people like me who don't understand it all. and please put your videos on YouTube as I do not use another media player. Thanks

Yeah, I'll be working my way through it in the order the quest supposedly "teaches" you, and explaining what it means, and giving tips like which rooms you can use for Living Quarters (which seems to be quite possibly the most common sticking point, at least now that Supply Agreements aren't breaking for massive amounts of people) and probably going over how to resolve the most common issues I've seen at each step of the process.
I probably should have some 'notes' to work from sitting on the other monitor (I know one thing I'm going to test live, looking at my saved screenshots here)... Hopefully there's at least someone in the stream-chat to pull me up on things I miss.

And yeah, it'll be all done on Youtube, and available to re-watch whenever, just like kg's streams are.

Alright, Never mind. My internet is being so crap today that I'm regularly getting upload pings measured in full seconds. And looking at the playback, it was dropping in and out even more than it was showing here at my end.

I might just record what I was going to do in offline mode (and micless) and then edit it a bit to upload that instead...

Anddd it ends with an unclearable infestation. The first one, that's depressing. But yeah.
I've been thinking that the 15 people objective is like "build 8 houses" for the second quest, but on steroids. It's long and unnecessary. Well, not so long for this character since you prepared for this and sent them all to Egret in advance, not to mention knowing exactly what to build for quarters, but still.

That's one of the easiest ways I've found to scrape together enough space that early to do that objective - just have to remember to grab the "Rebreather" first. Plus I don't really want my personal quarters to be right there where people are going to be just outside SOCIALIZING when I'm trying to sleep.
There's another place on the Office Level that you can build the Player Quarters anyway.

I was actually going to do that runthrough with Disasters Off, but I figured it'd be good to show how those pop up too. And yeah, of course I got one I couldn't clear myself.

I did just do a little more fiddling around and realised I was at least one person short for all of Engineering, Admin, and Security departments to meet the quest objectives, though...
 
Was that in the water treatment room? If so, bye water for the rest of the game. Well, I'd love it if you did the security mission to clear it, see if that worked. Or wait it out. Is this on 2.2.4 (seems like it by the look of your meters but not sure)?
 
Yes it's 2.2.4 (actually 2.2.4a, but whatever). I honestly forgot you could even order them to clear them out asap.

I gave that a shot. It's now been over 48 hours ingame since I gave that order and left HQ to go put even more Industrial plots around the network, and the "clear out the infestation" quest marker hasn't left my pipboy yet.
