Funny Bug involving the race changing abilities of Old Paul

This HAS to be a bug right? Tbh though I’m living for this bug never laughed more in my life
But figured had to say or share something about it in case others may not find it as humorous

Spoiler: SS2 quest spoiler, disc on the humor part of this bug

here I am walking to some settlement out in the middle of nowhere following this Canadian hillbilly when we find this ghoul ready to shoot us down and refuse help, as I’m defusing the situation Old Paul intervenes to help when all of a sudden he changes race on me just like that

Joke... its a very common bug! Mostly happens when the system cant load in time the newest face gen or face gen updates

Saving and shutting the game of and back on fixes it

Yeah sadly this bug is as old as Fallout 4 and modding. Happens more when running body/face texture mods, also tends to trigger when it's raining in my experience. Saving/Loading usually fixes it, if it doesn't, traveling can also resolve it, and failing that, close/open the game. Some find it particularly offensive, for obvious reasons, and I find it baffling that Bethesda let a bug like this through and/or hasn't applied a fix yet.

Even on my reasonably powerful rig, I get it from time to time. I used to see it a lot more on my previous, less powerful PC.

My specs, if curious:

Core i5 10400F
16gb dual-channel DDR4 RAM 3200 MHz
ATI Radeon RX 5700XT 8gb graphics card (as mentioned above, it happened a lot more on my old PC which had a 3gb card, so texture memory definitely affects it)
SATA3 SSD drive that game/mods installed on

General reload or recycle actor sometimes fixes it too. Especially on the player character.
