Hello everyone,

First thing to say I love the work on SS and SSQ you people have done here. Simply put the level of enjoyment I have in playing Fallout now is way above then without it. Thanks to the people like you, games like this lives on for very long(in games world lifetime) and through them so do we :)

We all know that SS and SSQ are hungry when it comes to script engine. They take a big part of it. But as play Fallout more and more I come to desire to play it more challenging. Then to the scene comes Pack Attack mod by Greslin. In combination with other mods they make combat and survival more to my taste. Like SS and SSQ dose the same in area of building and empire managment.
Question is. Does the hunger for script engine of SSQ deminish if I create all settlments(that can be created at start of a new game, without settlements that are quest releted) at level 3 and use SSQ mehanic to conquer them? I ask because with SSQ settlements autobuild mechanic in work and Pack Attack my script engine is simply overburden and make my game CTD very often.(I tried with playing with performace options in both mods, but I dum Pack Attack AI soo much that NPC combat become easier then vanila and make SSQ very slow and after that my game still CTD often).

This is my last solution as user to try to make my game run without to much problems that I have with both mods in my load order. My little hack sort of speak and hope to have best of both worlds.

If the answer is that SSQ is still script hungry as with settlments on levels below lv 3 then I will simply go on with my current SSQ oriented game and when I finish, I will start my next playthrough where I will orient more on combat and survival aspect of the game which dose make me sad because that means no SSQ im my load order on that playthrough which is a shame, a real shame.

It's very difficult to run CQ and PANPC together. It is possible but it depends a lot on the rest of your loadorder and how much patience you have because it will require some maintenance.

I find the newer versions on PANPC impossible to use, there is just too much getting attached to Ai and the game can't handle it. I use version 1.7.4 and it runs well. If you are thinking or rolling back it will require a new game. If you remove or change the newer versions it will break your save.
Disable the combat profiles of creatures and animals,(except for Ghouls and Supermutants) they are not worth the resources used on them. Also disable the settler profile as they are idiots anyway so also not worth the resources. The turret profile should also be disabled as SS makes changes to the turret Ai and I find they conflict and turrets don't work correctly.

The internal settings are exactly the same. I have very powerful weapons injected into the LL and play a glass cannon character. While I have extra spawns of lethal npc's, I don't over do it by having too many.
If you need a fuck load of npc's to make the game harder you're character is too powerful.

The maintenance:
This is very important. Greslin has a guide on updating PANPC on his nexus page. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/articles/1904
Once I hit about 50-60 active scripts I use this guide to clean my save, except for one change: DO NOT remove the .esp. Removing esp's will wreck your save.

That's about it, I use this method and often get saves with 200+hrs that are totally stable.
I have 166 mods installed but if you have many more than that you are going to find it difficult to run CQ and PANPC together no matter what.

This TBH. I found it too difficult to be able to add Pack Attack to my load order, so at this time I am more interested in just buffing the enemies

I agree - follow the directions on PANPC - and yes, if you need challenges, you are too OP. Play survival with SpecialPoints at 7 and weight carry at 50#'s if you want tough....

I do... My Nora is the weakest lawyer around. :)

Thank you very much on this very good answer. I never took that king point of view that if I need more NPC-s my character is overpowerd. Totaly different approach with same result when it come to make specific kind of playthrough with SSQ and PA working together.
Thank you for the tips about how to setup PA and save cleening. Didn't do my homework so with your tips you saved my a lot of time trying to figure it out myself(if I ever would???).

Would you please, write you load order? I think, base on your answer and interest about same topic ,that you probably have instaled mods that I would very much love to have in my next playthrough. Currently I have 119 mod so I have a little more room where I can futher enrich my game.

Right to the point like Phil.Any sugestion on mods on befting up NPC enemies?I know for Horizon but it change the way game is played a lot and I still diden't master the vanila way yet.
I have Deadly Deathclaw,Beter Power Armor(but I don't use PA only NPC does because PA is overpowered for me with this mode),Durabel Vertibirds, Agony,BLD with loot reduce to only 25% for all contaniers, faction overhauls that don't req AWKCR and AE(overpower the player too much), now Pack Attack with setups recommend by Phill :). I do use backpacks but SSQ is hungry for scrap and resource. Also use AFT but with limit for 2 companions only when realy need two otherwise I travel only with one.I don't like to use Dogmeat he burns to my stimpack storage, and Salvage Beacon. I did increase chance for Ghoul horde during radstorm in True Storms. I use SKKC Combat Stalker and NPC travel to beeft up little a number of NPC-s. Never I have more then 25-30 NPC-s in the combat zone and that happens when I invade other settlements.

To put all SP only on 7?The only perks I used above level 7 is Robotic Expert and that is because of robot building but then again when I upgrade Cosword and Ada they are overpowered. Less exp point, less number of seetlers, less chance of get yourself with talk out of a fight,less AP, more infection.........Damn John i'll buy it :)
 
You don't need all those mods to just beef up the enemies.... you just need

You get great looking armor sets, PA sets, etc... but their health pools are staggering.... nightskins from Super Mutant Redux use stealth boys so when they show up right next to you... boom!

And for the scoffers and disbelievers... My survival patch.... think ya' tough?

Oh, I know I said 50 but you can see it's at 100 - I set it there so I can carry all the items out of Vault 111 without being overburdened and taking health hits - even before I escape - I change to 50 once out of the vault.

Attached my patch - think it uploaded.... just drop into data folder and enable in plugins.... at bottom of load order... only affects those game settings - nothing else...

ESL tagged ESP - so doesn't go towards your mod count...

And if that isn't challenging enough, I can give you more.... .:)

Oh, and a new game...

Totally vanilla with those overhauls and that patch - new game - plus Sim Settlements of course....

…. you will die.... no other fancy mods are needed.

I like to play fast paced with plenty of ammo and chems which is why I choose Very Hard instead of survival. Which looks like this in action.

Thank you John for the esp-esl file, really appreciate it. I have potentially put myself in harms way with these setings.
I have download all the mods from the list before but with AE and AWKCR req tbh I am afraide of stability problems(this mods are huge and overhauls also) and when I saw that you can have gazilion upgrades for leather armor alone i felt an immersion breaking moment but if you are saying that NPC gets those upgrades also then I have a feeling that I will get realy hurt in the game.

I must admit that combination of mod list you suggestion and the one I have now does send a shivinig felling o pleasure through my spine but would I break the game with that combination? Would I hit the Fallout engine wall hard and know then that I wished too much like many times before.

I came here for knowledge to combine SSQ and PA, I get that, then I want more. Again I return to moder-user nightmere. This is not fair, it's really not but then again I ask for it :grin
 
Heel yeah, bloodrun is all I can say Phil :)

I do enjoy fast fights but only for a time because I don't have soo much stamina now ;)
I can see the mods(race overhauls and AE, AWKCR) about which I earlier express fear to have in my load order because of the game stability are in yours, which gives me a reason more do to do my homework better.
I can see the mod Gas Masks of the Wasteland there to. It allways bother me that when radstorm comes every NPC continue his action like nothing happens and I was the only one who has to protect it self. Now that is changed.
OutfitSwicher changing outfit for different situations. How did I miss that?
Crafting Mastery-if I reduce looting chances in BLD to 10% or less this mod becomes essential for ammo(all other opitons off)

Same here, but love the action here and there. As on the beginning of thread I allways try to get best of both worlds. With Better Power Armor mod, when I want to have a bloodbath, just jump in and go. Stealth in glowing see does't work for me.Deadlier Deathclaw mod make sure of that, one hit=one kill without PA and it's immune to headshot thanks to BDL mod.

But I would like know your thoughts about Weapons of Fate mod? Did you try it?

It's your topic and your OP... I don't have a problem if you ask...

By the time I get to the glowing sea, I have acquired many skills beyond stealth...

For me it's this way... survivor frozen for 210 years... brain is mush, muscle behavior is mush, atrophy ... it takes time to regain these things... I choose Nora because I think a woman after her baby makes the most sense (and that because Nate sounds like a whiney b*tch and can't stand his weakness)….. Nora is a lawyer... I don't see her coming out of the vault, having great strength, special skills, lugging a 15 pound railroad armored jacket, a 13# gun with 1000 rounds of 5.56, nor having a carry weight of 5000# ….

The realism is Nora is as she is... with time and experience, I use CBBE/BS to give her realistic bulk and soon she looks like Lara Croft... but, it's my way of viewing it.

I don't use a lot of weapon mods because they mostly are OP... if one really looks at the base game weapons, they are mostly balanced - there are a few that are odd... if I use a weapon mod, I use one that would be available to the leveled lists for NPC's as well... I don't believe in unique dedicated weapons just the player can run the map, destroy everything and encounter no difficulties... you can do the same with base weapons but activating unlimited ammo, health, TGM... etc.. people need to do what they find fun.

I agree about the Death Claws. I don't know about weapons of fate... see above paragraph. I have used BDL... it works well. I don't use it because it also touches containers, etc... if you want to amp up the container rarities, and locations of contents (meaning stimpaks around hospitals, ammo by armories, food by farms, etc... ) try Damn Apocalypse….

Damn Apocalyps is't perfect, good that a containers loot in BLD is optional so I can combine effect from both mods. I like the system of ammo damage in BLD and race health pools and also have patch for all the race overhauls you suggested John.

I never played as woman character and your points hold the ground. Am I wrong if I say that it change the perspective of game a little? I thought about playing woman character just because I never did.

When it comes to her looks, whell I am little shy and I don't want my wife to see I am playing a woman terrorist character, Why terorist I say, because of the two bombs she has on her chest :)

Tbh I want to change my gameplay till now dramaticly, I know I am not using the full might of the game so I am in the proces of bufting up my knowleage about all the tools for conflict resolution. It was a long time ago but I use them on Skyrim more complete then today. Also because of my pc hardware I excluded texture mods,enb-s and all other mods that sole purpose is eyecandy aspect of the game.My game settings are all on medium. Content is very impotent and immersion also.
