Ch.3 Workshop Framework Invalid Entries error

Hey all,

After updating everything and ensuring workshop framework comes from Nexus, I am getting the same error as at least two other folks here on the forums and basically can't start Ch. 3 yet. Fortunately my RL is very busy so I'm in no hurry despite the curiosity and excitement!

""Workshop Framework has encountered an error! Your Workshop array seems to have invalid entries, probably due to removed settlement mods. It is not recommended to continue playing this save." . Running ROTC as well. I should mention that I took a break since last dec and didnt fire up the game or patch during the period when KG mentioned some similar issue he had to push out a hotfix for and ROTC/settlement mod optimization. Maybe we had to patch and convert all the way through and some process was missed here.

This save is overweight with mostly DLC content mods like Thuggyverse, Subversion. Going to see if I can optimize the load order some after I hit post.

You can check out the WSFW thread on this. I have this too and haven't uninstalled any settlement mods so I don't think that's what is causing it. It might be from the settlements Thuggyverse adds because they aren't actual settlements. Unfortunately the error doesn't even output what is missing for investigation. The error is also vague with the 'probably due to removed settlement mods', so even the error doesn't know what the invalid entries could be.

And you're definitely not using a collection or wabbajack list of any kind?
 
I haven't removed anything either but you did give me the idea to go back to F4GSM and load my last save pre Thuggy and see what happens... will update this post in a bit
 
Yup loaded a pre thuggy save (when I had just finished subversion) and it's still reporting the same thing. Another thing I thought of is that I also have some workshop framework fix thing loaded. Maybe that now should be deprecated and causing issues

Interesting report. Are you using The Bleachers/Fens Sheriff Department by chance?

We can't replicate this with a vanilla + UFO4P + WSFW + SS2 new game here.

That implies that one of two things has occurred.

1) A mod that added a workshop has been removed. Usually these are settlements. Sometimes these are quest mods.

2) A mod has added a broken workshop.

I wanted SS3 Ch. 3 to be the last thing I played thru on this character given how loaded it is by this pt and then start fresh with Fallout London/Miami/Cascadia
 
I'm honestly not able to tell if you have a broken mod in that list just by looking at it.

Has the mod community cracked being able to look into the save files yet? At least so we can see other elements in the array and guess at what other potential quest mod is the problem. Thee has only ever been one mod that I ended up removing (but not reusing the save to my memory) and that was the Goodneighbor remake a long time ago.

For everyone else experiencing the issue, maybe there are other mods we have in common? so we can eliminate what we dont have in common but Ive largely focused on only trying out quest mods and basically "DLC sized expansions"
 
ok I had a look through my Vortex history, these were the other mods that were updated since I last loaded the game with no issues

Wasteland Venturers - SS2 add-on pack. Possibly the culprit most in common with all of us but unlikely to have a workshop?
Subversion Instittute - Alliance ending. More likely to have a workshop
Thuggysmurf Optimization and Tweaks - possibly changed a workshop in there

Otherwise it's all the removing and optimization of file sizes with SS2 Ch.1 and 2 that might have removed a workshop that shouldnt have been removed. The Wasteland Venturers creator is in here, you guys probably know them... Contact them? the other two.. might have to contact them and read their changelogs which I'll get on and update for later

Hi! We don’t have any workshops or settlements in any other form in Wasteland Venturers. The latest update only made changes to some SCOLs (the Christmas decorations), due to kinggath having to move the assets from SS2 to extended to make room on Xbox.

So far I think Thuggysmurf optimization mod is the most likely culprit since a) changelog mentions editing of the institute interior location entry (still an interior, so maybe thats the root element vs workshops?) to make the Sinstitute Teleporter plugin work b) Kilo and I are confirmed both running Thuggyverse on our saves. That's the most common element so far. Ive sent a forum msg on Nexus to that guy as well as an email to Subversion's creator but that seems less likely as the most recent update mostly only focused on voiceover changes
