Please post bugs specific to Rise of the Commonwealth and Castle in this thread.
 
thanks for the heads up, got this one added to the to do list for correction. For now, just go into workshop mode and move the desk :)
 
Found another issue, if you start building before doing the quest with Ronnie Shaw, you can't get into the tunnel to the armory, it is blocked by boards at both ends. Also the plans for the artillery and smoke grenades are not there

Yeah.. it's best to not build The Castle until after end game. It messes with most Castle quests to some extent.
 
Did you try adding the smoke bombs? If so, maybe try dropping one on the ground and picking it up again and see if that kicks the quest along
 
ok got the artillery :)

When you get to the point where it asks to pickup the schematic, use the following :

setstage 000aa778 560 (completes artillery schematic)
setstage 000aa778 570 (Completes flare signal)

Problem is the artillery schematic are no longer there, so you cant pick it up. And it's not something that will endup in inventory (it's an action)
 
ho ya and to get into the basement well... i did a self destruct on the castle, pretty epic :D
 
There are several ways to get Old Guns quest to complete IF you made the mistake & built the RotC Castle.
The simplest..
Before talking to Ronnie!!!

Use the console command "tcl" to get through the armory door and clear the blocked dungeon Exit,
Also clear the wood from the Entrance "Before" talking to Ronnie! If you don't do it now the quest will break.
Now, clear a path through the "Left Side" of the blocked Castle wall..ya know, the one every quest uses..
Then start Old Guns ie. Talk to Ronnie..
When you exit the dungeon, Ronnie will open the door and the schematics will have respawned.
You can then build 1 artillery battery, Ronnie will walk through the hole you cleared in the wall... yada yada quest complete.
 
I wonder how the Castle is handling the minuteman who is supposed to operate the radio and Ronnie Shaw. I have 8 settlers at The Castle, enough housing plots are laid out, enough work plots are laid out, but only 3 workers went to agriculture jobs and 1 went to defense, the other 2 non Ronnie Shaw / Minuteman Radio Guy people didn't get jobs assigned and only four houses got built. I waited a while but it sat there. Is it possible that the script is trying to do something with Shaw and or the Minuteman guy and can't get past it?

Generally, the auto assignment is due to script lag. If you go to an empty settlement.. middle of no where... open the pipboy to the Radio tab and let it the game run for 30 minutes or so, then close the pipboy exit the game and reload. That "usually" allows the script overload to clear out.

While that may fix script lag, with Ronnie and the minuteman who occupies the radio, due to certain issues that cropped up, they are sort of ignored by SS. So at best you can place 2 vanilla beds to allow those 2 to have"homes".
 
So this Old Guns bug happens om xbox...no console comands, cant clear the boarded door before talking to Ronnie either. I really dont want to go back to before I automated the castle.
