Bug: Jake has lost his clothes

Hey there, I'm just starting out on SS2, really enjoying it so far. Everything was going smoothly until after clearing out Concord, when Jake said he'd meet me back at Sanctuary. I head back, he's frozen, won't move, but I can still talk to him and the quest to put down the plots triggers.

I put down the first plot, and nothing happens. He doesn't move, the quest doesn't trigger. I go to sleep for a while to pass time, and that moves things forward. Jake is now on the plot (still frozen there, though), and the plot is under construction. There are long delays but that part of the quest finishes. He's still frozen there. Same process with the industrial plot, I have to sleep to trigger the next stage. Weird.

Looking around to see if anyone else has had a similar issue, I find this page: https://simsettlements.com/site/index.php?threads/jake-does-not-move.14919/

It recommends recycling Jake and then moving him back to you. I can confirm that this fix works, he's now walking around and is reactive like before. Only issue is that when I moved him to me, he came back sans clothing:

Can anyone give me an assist on this one? Either a fix for Jake not moving that doesn't remove his clothes, or the ref id for his clothes so I can maybe console command them to me and give them back to him? Idk if that would even work. Looking for any/all input, thanks!

Just to clear something up - When we say to give scripts time to catch up (like waiting for Jake to actually build the plots) we mean REAL time, not game time. Sleeping to advance game time actually makes it worse, because now the game has to calculate everything that happened during that time too.

Sorry, I don't think I explained that issue very well. Nothing was happening. At all. Jake was frozen, and wouldn't move to the agricultural plot/build it. So specifically, Jake was frozen on the other side of the Sanctuary bridge. He would not move over to the plot. I slept, and he moved over to the plot (still frozen there) and only then did the plot start construction. When that finished (it took a while in real time), he remained frozen and wouldn't move to the next (industrial) plot. The only way I could get him to move/that to trigger was sleeping again.

So I wasn't sleeping to "speed up" the building or anything. The quest/Jake would not proceed until I slept.

Ah, I see, yeah I did misunderstand - I have never even HEARD of that happening. I dont see any Known Conflict mods in your load order, though... but theres a lot there I dont recognise at all.

Try....

Select Jake

Equip his outfit. :declare

:blush
when you "recycleactor" this is undressing is kind of a common thing.

given enough time the NPC will usually start to feel a bit chilly and normally re-equip their outfits.

hahahahahaha, I like giving piper his outfit anyway :smile

Sorry, should've mentioned that I did previously use the console to check his inventory for the clothes, and they weren't there. I just checked again, and no dice. Took the attached screenshot. Do you know how I would go about obtaining his clothes so I could give them back? Or any other ideas on a solution? In the meantime, I'll let it run for a bit and see if he decides the Commonwealth is too chilly to run around in this state...

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a solution.

After some further playing around, I was able to get some clothes on this man.

I used the targeted 'showinventory' command on him, which gave me the ref id for his clothes, pipboy, and scarf. First I tried to give them to myself to give to him, but they didn't show up in my inventory. So I tried to equip them directly using targeted 'equipitem' commands and... Voila! Dude's not nude. Pic related.

I wish I could help the dev team understand why this happened, but I really don't know. Just that it started when I talked to him after killing the deathclaw. Oh well, if anyone else has the same issue, hope this helps! And thanks to RayBo and yaugieLC for their assistance!

Never trust someone with the face of a good person. He didn't suspect that Jake was an exhibitionist.

I take this opportunity to report that this bad person stole my Powerarmor when the deathclaw appeared in Concord :grin

So you mean I can do that and remove his clothes? Rawr!!!

I seem to have the opposite problem with his clothes. During the last quest or two, he'll show up as a bartender or a salesman. I've yet to figure that out. I did have Horizon installed and a few vendors from it. Could be something between the two of them.
