Announcement: Rise of the Commonwealth

Hello. First, this is the most awesome mod of all time. It's like adding a new game to F4, it's bonkers. Second, I have some minor problems. Dunno if it's actually from SS or RoTK, but my settlers would clump around the middle of the settlement and just stay here. Most proeminent is at Abernathy where I had 15 settlers and 7 of them we're in the center of the settlement. Installed a mod for better AI, same. That brings me to my second thing, where are the settlers? From 15 settlers I could either see the ones clumped in Abernathy or 2-3 wandering around in Sanctuary. Went to every house, couldn't find them. Also, third thing, I kinda lost my companions. On rare occasions I see them at the station (like Cait in Taffington or Preston in the Castle yard) but other than that, it's like they vanished. I could still assign them to leaders but that's it. And final thingie, had the quest from Ronnie Shaw to acces the armory in the Castle, but the way down is boarded by a unsalvageable plank. Thus can't finish it.
Dunno if all are problems with your mods or not.

the settlers all on the mid is normal is fallout spawn them all in the same place before the AI work, the second i dont know but you have a tool in the holotape to pop all settlers near you try it. and the tird is a know issues from the plan better do that quest before you begin the city.

Since I'm testing this on my XBox and doing lots of new starts, any chance a holotape and some of the ASAMs can be placed in Sanctuary? Or do I need to rescue the Quincy 5 before I can choose Codsworth as my city leader? (I'm just tired of needing to go to the Museum and play thru all of that encounter before I can start testing the city build mode.)

I know there's a mod that's supposed to plant a holotape and stuff in my inventory, but it is not working.

if you enter the museum to get the holotape and asams you can just leave at that point and cogsworth will join you. all you have to do is get close enough to see the raiders to get him to join you

I have a save right after the encounter quests are complete that I use for clean game testing.

You're on PC. If I didn't do Survival mode, I could Save like that. Maybe I should stop for the duration of this testing phase.

Ouch... yeah, that would suck trying to test stuff...

Love the avatar btw! Princess Bride is on the list of my top favorite movies of all times.

I noticed that if you start a new game with the SS cheat holotape enabled, it won't spawn in your inventory. You have to start a new game with it disabled then enable it after you have your pipboy.

Hi there! Downloaded this mod yesterday after stumbling on an Oxhorn video about it. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this mod! I'm having a couple of issues though:

First only 50% of my plots in RotC sanctuary are building (this is a fresh save as i've never bothered with settlements before now) I've refreshed local plots and City via desk and nothing is ever building despite waiting 10 mins for the game to catch up. I have also turned off realistic build times in the menu holotape. settlers are going to plots to build buit nothing seems to happen! i'm not sure what to do any bug fixing tips?

Second a minor graphical bug the donate supplies option sometimes comes up Nordhagen Beach instead of Sanctuary but the materials are still going there (it sometimes reverts back to the correct settlement). Not sure whats happening there but i thought you might want to know ^^

Plots from the plan manually placed plots work just fine. Both Residential and Job plots fail to build not just either or.

Abernathy Farm - 9 settlers, 71 happiness. Upgraded from Level 0 to Level 1
Tenpines Bluff - 5 Settlers, 57 Happiness. Upgraded fine.
Sanctuary - 21 Settlers (max I can have at current CHA), 79 happiness. No Upgrades....

Latest version:
- 3rd party mods can now add new leaders.

Forgive my ignorance, but how is this done? I've been looking to see how/where to do this but can't find any relevant information. Can someone point me in the correct direction please? Thanks in advance.

Check out the updated pdfs and videos on the wiki. Kinggath has some amazing tutorials out there if you are interested in expanding your capabilities into modding.

Here is the link to the full builders toolkit. it isnt a mod, just do a manual download: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/22808

Not sure where to ask this. Does anyone know: Can you recruit only ghouls at a place like The Slog? I like that group, and I want to keep their settlement "pure."

I wish. I handle it by turning off the recruitment beacon at the slog and just sending all my ghouls recruited at other settlements there until it fills up.

Sim Settlements is awesome. If you spend time dealing with your settlements, then I assume Industrial Revolution is great. I love the idea of Rise of the Commonwealth, and while the actual implementation is super solid and I'm up to 210 mods at the moment. But the actual using of Rise is something else. Whoever designed the settlements that I've assigned leaders to is frankly aweful. It doesn't seem like what was built in Sanctuary was something that Preston with the help of Sturges would've made. Literally there's a spot where I got stuck and couldn't get out without building stairs to get out of between two walled in homes... and then I had to start scrapping the ridiculous amount of water purifiers that were in there. They were producing 196 water for 10 settlers, and only with like 7 beds in the place, I mean come on. I will in future games ONLY use the base zones, even the interior ones, which are cool, but the leader setup, it's a mess.

If the only settlement you've tried to build is Sanctuary, you may want to take a longer tour through some of the others. Some of them are unbelievably complex and outright gorgeous, others may leave you cold.

There's a wide variety in there and everybody is going to have their own sense of style. If you don't like a particular build, it's ok. That one is just not for you.

As the machine keeps moving and more builds are released, you'll have more variety. In due time you'll be able to make and publish your own idea of perfection for others.

As for resources, yeah, initial resources got overcorrected in the most recent patch where they had been left out entirely at level zero. It's getting fixed.
