So far I only have the following residential plots built in this settlement (I just started a new game):

I feel like the Unofficial Fallout 4 patch should be higher.. but I haven't had problems with the bed count until about an hour ago.. and so far it's only in Sanctuary. The only thing I've done in that settlement within that time frame was scrap a bunch of stuff and add a tree.

Edited to add: that I also ran "refresh local plots" because I got a weird error message about something not connecting.. and I feel like it was after I added the City Planner's Desk (not 100% sure about that) it came and went really fast so I couldn't fully read it.
Also, the bed count has gone up to 572 in the time it took me to write this post lol..

I'm having the same issue, every time I go into Sanctuary it has a lot more beds, and the number just keeps increasing.

@ButterPecanRican Can you try installing Sim Settlements Helper and try scrapping a plot bed and see if another one exists in it's place? It's possible my shelter fix code is running amok and just placing beds without removing the old ones.

@Domander Can you post a save file to dropbox.com with your character in the settlement with the huge bed number?

Here you go Kinggath

It's a fairly new game, only 10 hours in, I loaded a save prior to making any sim settlement plots (right after concord rescue) and played around a bit to try to recreate the bug. I wasn't able to recreate it. I was also thinking it had something to do with the shelter fix.

also I did update FO4 just before i noticed it, so it very well could be that stupid creation club update.

I also tried downloading Sim Settlements Helper and running the Reset workshop array chem just to see if it would do anything. It didn't seem to make a difference. (It may have nothing to do with it but I noticed the post about strange things happening since the update)

I think I will probably start a new game, I was going to hold off on the creation club update, kind of wish I had, heh.

also..... new to the forum and wanted to say thank you for the quick reply.

I've really enjoy sim settlements (also used salvage beacons for quite a while), you are one awesome author.

Your mudfarm was underneath The Burrow when I scrapped it. I scrapped all the plots because why not, and there was nothing else in their place.
Also I ran the reset workshop array and nada.

I want to explain how I tried to recreate it.

I went back to a save just after concord. I ran over to sanctuary, they hadn't arrived yet so I slept for 24 hours and they arrived. I threw down 4 residentials and assigned the helpless villagers. I watched them build their houses and then ran back to red rocket and slept for 48 hours. (it was also enough time to kick in the tax message) I ran back to sanctuary, all normal. I then put down a couple more residentials and a recruitment beacon. I ran back to red rocket and as I was going I got the message that one was already building their house. I slept for 48 hours, ran back, all normal.

@ButterPecanRican I thought Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch was an .esm

anyway, it's best loaded right after the dlc before any other mods.

I stopped using it because I found that it was actually causing some noticeable (to me anyway) bugs.

I don't know what it is.. the Patch was already downloaded on Fallout from when my fiance played (it's his Xbox I'm using) I never bothered to delete it.

@Domander When I loaded up your save, there were only 8 beds in Sanctuary.

As a test, if you load the game with only Sim Settlements and any expansions or add-ons for it installed, does the bed count correct itself?

If yes, then you may have another mod causing some chaos. If the bed count is still messed up, can you give me a list of your add-on packs and I'll try them myself to see if I can replicate it.

My husband and I are seeing this too, only in Sanctuary (which is where we both have done the bulk of our building). It's the pipboy/workshop numbers, I actually sat there and watched it climb up one day. Mine sits about 100, his is well over 500. What's odd is I removed some beds I had originally created for orphans, after sending them elsewhere, and the number removed was correctly subtracted from the very-wrong total.

I should clarify -- if I open the workshop in Sanctuary, I see it in the top row of workshop provided numbers. If I am just looking at workshop data in the pipboy, it doesn't matter what settlement I'm in, Sanctuary is always wrong. It has no impact that I can see on the numbers SimSettlements uses/displays on the left. I know that I have more beds than residential plots - I used to have an orphanage (I think it still has a bunk bed); I built myself a house with a bed and a few dog beds (I assume they aren't being included in the count); and the doss house, mayor's house and the Inn are all level 3. That still should not take me from 36 residents to over 100 beds though...

@Loredena If it's happening in workshop mode, that means the game is actually detecting that many beds. Can you upload your save to dropbox.com? I wasn't able to replicate the issue in Domander's save file.

@kinggath I put the save I loaded in to (in the Castle) plus two screenshots I took here https://www.dropbox.com/sh/4ogbnxegu6yfl9r/AABn1PSufh_NFIVVeDPeQ0o8a?dl=0

The first screenshot was taken in the pipboy while in the Castle. I then fast traveled to Sanctuary and opened the workshop - by the time I hit printscreen the bed count had ticked up and food had plummeted. When I closed the workshop the Settlements food was quite low, so the workshop number might accurately reflect the post-deductions food. I have enough food plots at level 3 relative to the number of residents (it was over 60 when I added a few more) but of course every settler with level 3 home is approx. -3 food , and the other plot types also deduct. If I can help with anything else let me know - Sisca said his bed count is showing over 800 now, and this appears to be either a Sanctuary-specific bug, or something that kicks in with higher settler/plot numbers. No other settlement is skewed, but only a few (such as the Castle) have multiple plots and Sanctuary is the only settlement that has had plots for a significant period of time (I just finished adding them to the Castle, and I've only had Vault 88 with plots for a few days).

/edit I also uploaded the output of my load order for NMM

@Loredena's husband here and I'll throw in some more info for you.

Opened my save game which had me in Bunker Hill, opened Pip Boy and Sanctuary had 837 beds.
Fast traveled to SH and checked Pip Boy again to see 840 beds.
Opened workshop mode and ran around a bit. Scrapped three trees and rand from the bridge to the end of the cul-de-sac and it went up to 843 beds
Slept for 12 hours and it jumped to 857 beds.
Ran to Red Rocket.
Saved and exited as I was also playing around with NAC weather/lighting mod but didn't like it so was going to uninstall it.
Reloaded the save to create a new one without NAC.
Checked Pip Boy and beds still at 857
Fast travel to SH and still 857 in Pip Boy
Slept 8 hours and still 857
Entered workshop mode and beds are at 861
Scrapped 3 maple trees, a vines and a fallen log. Beds still at 861
Slept 24 hours and beds still at 861
Went back into workshop mode and beds stayed at 861.

Zip file with save game .FOS and .F4SE files along with a text file with my current load order: FO4_SimSettlements.zip

Let me know if there's anything else I can do to help.

The beds look correct in both of your saves for me. So the issue is most likely coming from a mod in your load orders.

It's possible it's coming from an add-on pack. Could you try temporarily loading your game (don't save during this test) with just Sim Settlements and the Add-on packs enabled to see if your bed count goes down? It not, we've got an add-on pack going rogue. Otherwise, the problem is stemming from one of your other mods.

Once we've narrowed down which group it's in, a set of half-split (binary) testing should solve this mystery pretty quickly. If we can get a Load Order from @Domander - that could speed things up as well. Comparing your three Load Orders, it's probably going to be a mod you all have.

Just tried that with only F4SE and I believe the unofficial patch along with Sim Settlements and all of its add-on's. Ran from Red Rocket to SH and entered workshop mode, now showing 890 beds.

So looks like a runaway addon. Since this just started maybe something that was updated recently? I know I went through and updated everything after the update to FO4 and F4SE last week.

Try without the Unofficial patch as well.

I have seen this currently as a pipboy stat. Not in the actual settlement. My RR has a 166 beds but doesn't increase. I also am not running the unofficial fallout 4 patch. In workshop mode, it is correct.

Pipboy does also show at times missing beds in Starlight (4 instead of 20). I fast travel there and in workshop, displays correctly.

I have never trusted the pipboy. I think there is a documented vanilla game bug with this?
