Community, When you purchase a PA Frame from the PA Service Center Plot vendor, where does the frame go?

When doing the quest "When Freedom Calls" and I'm supposed to enter the power armor on the roof, it just automatically unequips every power armor part and puts it in my inventory. when I re-equip the parts the power armor frame is missing.
