Hotfix 2.0.0g

I cheated used wsfw plus to use free build mode honestly the hq resources needs a major reworking/rebalancing , jakes quest to get 1k engineering energy is impossible for me have 10 settlers assigned only have 240/1000 energy. Figured I’d start a new game and not do anything hq related until it’s had a few more fixes.
 
I have no idea how to get more Facilities Energy anyone on here happen to know or is this a bug? (still in the tutorial)

Have you tried assigning everyone in hq to facilities? or is that not option not available yet?

My problems with the CPD seemed to stem from having started up the attack quest for the Gunner HQ. Lena had previously wanted to take over BADTFL, which was stated to me as "meet you there" style of quest. I went off to do other things, and also started up the attack quest for the Gunner GQ. Randomly the whole CPD quest line Failed, which I attributed do the Gunner HQ quest (and consider it bugged). Someone told me that Lena could just decide to go in herself, and might die, resulting in the CPD quest line failing. Testing that oddity*, I found Lena very much alive and waiting for me outside. We took over BADTFL, and as far as I can tell that was the end of the CPD quests so far as none of them ever gave me another one.

* I put that oddity in the same category as another user once telling me there was only a chance you might see the unique SS2 settlers appear once you qualified for them (# of settlements, faction choices, etc). I can't imagine SS2 putting together so many quests and lining up voice actors and writing stories for all those cool characters for them to only appear maybe/sorta/possibly once you qualify for them to appear. No way SS2 would do that to a voice actor, let alone all that work. So, Category: Oddity! lol
My problem was that they were trying to interrogate a corpse. I tried to resurrect and recycleactor and resetai but nothing helped so I walked away.
 
If you have less than 10 people at HQ during the tutorial, it means someone didn't get correctly added due to script lag or some other quirk - there's a fix in the holotape to force assign everyone under Tools > Quest Fixes.

After that, reassign everyone to Facilities, then enter and exit command mode to force it to recalculate energy.

If that doesn't work, then Workshop Plus free build mode or turning on god mode will have to suffice until we can find the cause of more of these issues.

As far as HQ complexity, I think a lot of it comes from the fact that we're lacking a lot of notifications, reports, and interaction stuff that needs to be set up still (that will be patched in after we get past the hotfix phase). Here's a summary of how HQ is intended to work, hopefully it will help to clarify what's working as intended versus what is busted:

  • HQ spends the surplus resources from your settlements.
  • Every day your staff can do so much work, that's measured by energy and how much they can spend on projects via limiter costs like Scrap Logistics
  • Upgrading/building rooms increases the max number of people in HQ, the max number of people in a department, or the max amount of a resource type that can be spent each day.
  • In addition to upgrading/building HQ, the daily spending limits (such as Scrap Logistics) are also limited by the SPECIAL stats of the staff in the corresponding departments.

The idea is simply that the more you upgrade HQ, and the better trained people you have in each department, the more and bigger projects you can do each day.

Bug fixes, quality of life issues, and lots more projects (especially for under-utilized departments like Admin and Security) will be added in future patches. This has a long tail planned! Apologies for all the quirks you all are dealing with- but I hope you're all excited for this thing when it's completed.

As far as the settler's still saying the wrong lines in HQ - I think I may need to come up with a one-time patch code to correct it for existing saves - it's possible the fix only works on new saves with the way I set it up - will look into it after the weekend.

Again don’t think anybody hated the hq just seems difficult at the moment , take your time though I’d rather the initial quests and stuff work proper and leave hq for later.
 
I can't speak for everyone, but I 100% do not "hate" the HQ System, it's just not in the best state in actual (non-testbed) savegames for a lot of people. I can practically taste how much potential it has once it's all working smoothly, and the notion definitely has me excited, but as XxA1xX said, getting everything to a 'functional' state is a pretty clear higher priority..
 
Did you assign Mansfield as Dept head? He should give you some.
I know. I just can't clear 1 room (1 quest step). the screenshot shows this. I tried to use the fix before the quest and during - does not work. (this becomes possible when you leave the shelter 81, after talking to Mainsfield).
If i use "tgm" - after some step, i can't assign Aiden and Jake -

Sorry for such a late response, yet this completely broke SSM2 for me, it's saying I no longer have the files? Is there anyways you can help? PS this is after I downloaded the newest patch 1640416985652.png
 
Did you update all 3? Check the dates on the pages where the files are.

Did you sort your plugins?

like, make it the same as the "select city plan" just to be able to select the theme and the rest will be automatically being built. ONLY if YOU want to customize, then you customize it, if not, just let it be

me neither, sanctuary where i met shhandy (with a city plan rotc)when i go to south boston police dpt the cpd interior cell is loaded correctly , but if i use a save with a custom sanctuary build south boston dpt cpd interior is vanilla. looks like im losing over 40 hours as that is the point where the cpd interior cell is correct. :(

i know its andy and the shh reason :). i forget the real spelling.i tried waiting ,even for 30 ingame days using a beano mod interior. its annoying as the interior is there in an earlier save(with beano moad so i know its not that) . 30 hours ago :(
 
I'm experiencing some problems with Finch Farm, as the Vanilla building plan will teleport me into a residential plot, also I found this one residential plot having mattresses overlapping with each other quite common
