X6-88 bugged after HQ meetings

X6 won't follow me after I call a meeting in HQ after attending with the Institute's diplomat. The game still treats him like a
companion (I can still command him to trade, move to a specific spot, dismiss him, etc) but he's behaving as if I commanded him to wait, and I can't command him to follow me again.

l've tried everything from resetting his Al to recycleactor and killing and resurrecting him, with no results. I even switched out my multiple followers mod to see if SS2 wasn't playing nice with the mod, but to no avail. I know there's some convoluted tutorial on Nexus on how to find his Al package by writing/compiling a Papyrus script, but I don't know jack about how to do that.

What should I do? I was thinking about editing/deleting the script that makes X6 show up to the meeting.
 
I can look into this when I have a moment, but might be a while in my current playtest. In the meantime, can you dismiss him before meetings, and then join him again? Or does he still behave oddly?

This happens regardless if he's traveling with me. Weirdly enough I actually had no issues with Preston, even though he's the rep for the Minutemen
 
Same deal here, Preston fine, X6, not so much. On a previous playthrough, I had never asked X6 to join me. In that one, X6 worked fine after the meeting. If I had to guess, something in X6's homebase in ToddCode is flawed.
