Old Post WIP: RedRocket Mega Mall First look

Can settlers actually path up that high ?

Some tend to stop the stairways, but they do build homes up there.
Looking into that, maybe redesign the "tower" so 2 flights at the times perhaps. Atm my Blueprint doesnt work after the F4SE update.

Could be fun if I managed, HighRises of the Commonwealth. ;)

I feel you. I'm on a break from my city plans while updates trickle in. I've had 2 story buildings work fine, and 3 mostly fine. They do love those stairways though.

Nice! I think settlers can path up and down floors in units of 144. 288 up and 144 down. There is, of course, a mod that affects those values. It's a game setting, so those values can also be changed from the console. I use:

Code:
SetGS fSandboxCylinderTop 864
SetGS fSandboxCylinderBottom -288

in a batch file.

@NikolajtheNord Any idea what those numbers really are?

So I know a vanilla game, no editing the numbers support that poeple will be working as high as 8th floor, even when 1st floor is elevated for flat floors. That is at Starlight mind you. How they will really work at RedRocket is still a little fuzzy as of yet.

Besides, target of my cityplans is to keep them as vanilla as possible. Thinking that adding console commands needed to work may scare players away.

They're in-game units. As I understand it, 288 is two floors up from in-game ground level and 144 is one floor down. Those are the defaults and may explain why settlers are stuck on the stairs. The game will "warp" assigned settlers to their assignments outside those values, but they won't path to those objects naturally. I posted about it because for some plots it won't matter, but might be worth considering for commercial or recreational plots.

My observation this far, is that for recreational plots and agricultural here in Starlight, they path up the stairs to their work. Homeplots are beeing built, and some settlers to show there, but not yet verified how they got there.

It do appears that those trying to path there get stuck in stairs somewhere.

Just as curious, even if it is off-topic, is why do they always gather around here ....the standup comedians.jpg
and sometimes up to half the settlers in the settlement.
