Whoops, everyone got the facegen bug

When I got the quest, Casting The Line, and I needed to confront the raiders who kidnapped some of my settlers, once I met Old Paul at the target location, I noticed Jake and the Raiders were suddenly infected with the facegen bug.
The seam is behind the ear, making the back half of their head very light skinned, and the front half very dark skinned. I went to the mod page on Nexus to see if there was a fix, but I didn't see anything about it I also searched this forum, but the only thing said was "You must have a mod conflict." Well, I'm using Vortex, and naturally have F4SE installed, but other than that, it's a very light mod list and the only mods I'm using are the required ones for the SS2 and SS2 Chapter 2, as well as Place Everywhere, and the one that lets the electric wires stretch farther (sorry can't remember the name for it right now). I absolutely do not have any settler mods, any bodyslide or race menu mods, no extra clothing/hair/accessories mods - like I said, a very light mod list, so I doubt it's a mod conflict or load order issue. I have not installed the SS2 DLC Settler Patch though, I assumed it only altered their behavior, not their facegen data, but I'm willing to install it if it works to fix the facegen bug.

Usually it goes away after a reload. At least for the player. I often get some members of the Who can ASAM crew brownfaced, but they don't stay that way, after reloading. My guess is, facial textures aren't loading properly at times and it's a vanilla bug that has been with me since day one.

It can happen if the faces tintmask(iirc) is a different size than the face textures- ie.,. textures are 2k but the tintmasks are 1k as an example. I've seen some mods on the Nexus that attempt to fix the 'neck seam' issue but haven't tried them. You might want to start there and see what those 'mod' authors have to say about the issue and how their 'mod' attempts to correct it.
