Hi. New User. Trying to get the most out of the mod.
I had downloaded the original but realizing that there's a sequel, I jumped on that. So while it installs, I had a few questions I hoped to get answered:
  1. Is there a way to designate a Player Home in each settlement? One where you can feel fairly confident no one will build over? At the very least, a place where I can do my upgrades and workbenching stuff.
  2. Is there a way to get the most out of the mod when it comes to the various farms around the settlements without having the system strip the farmland and replace it with turrents?
  3. If I turn Starlight Drive-in Into a Settlement, what happens to the pool of radioactive water in the middle of it?
  4. Is there a way to let the game automate, but to direct it to only build certain structures in certain places? Such as guard posts and defenses at the entrances? (The original had a massive guard tower in the middle of sanctuary which is why I asked).
Also, recommendations for add-ons or tips/tricks would be appreciated. I mainly got this for the automated aspects and to be able to passively watch a place grow on it's own. Feels more like the settlers are actual, you know, Settlers and not just set pieces.

1. There is a mod on nexus that places an invisible marker down where other NPC’s cannot enter that area. Or they will be in there when you show up and then the mod kicks in and boots them out. That is the only way currently to setup a private home area if you don’t want settlers getting in, unless you use locked electric doors or something. But the marker mod is must in my mod-list it’s great.

2. So how it works is you can choose city plans that other people have made, if you desire, and that will automate a build cycle and choose the plots for to etc. Then afterword you can manually change plots that you want to be agriculture if you chose. If you don’t select a city plan you can still choose the plots you want laid down and the ASAM sensor will auto build that plot still. The nice thing about SS2 is it really guides you through the whole process with an in game quest that makes it all really easy to get ahold of. So you can choose either/or combo a city plan with some personal design choices of your own.

3. The pool is there, the city plans build around it.

4. If you don’t use a city plan for a particular Settlement you will have to decide what plots go where. There is no randomized city-plans that build off of a parameter you set. All the city plans are designed by other people.
I recommend IDEK’s logic station no matter what. A must have for SS2, and then outside of that just have fun with the quest line in SS2 it’s really good.

To be clear, city plans and plots are different. Plots will always auto/develop if you have the resources you need, or if you turn resources off they will just develop.
So you do not need a city plan to quickly develop a settlement and have it working autonomously without much intervention. The in game quest will take you through it all

The pool is only radioactive cause the barrels in it. Scrap them problem solved.
