Doing the Where There's Smoke quest. I get to the former ASAM settlement and get jumped by the guy. Jake asks me to speak up.

Any selected option does not give any subtitles and doesn't progress past the MC's voice lines.

Anyone know if this is a reported bug?

There are numerous threads already open on this issue you can find help in. Most common issue is using see through scopes and or a mod that alters the dialogue (XDI without patch or FDI.)

The other common issue is having the dialog camera turned off. This can be found in the vanilla settings > video, IIRC.

The only issue I have had using XDI during this quest is the radio scene. Without disabling XDI or using my patch, the player will not have any dialog options when sitting at the radio.

And I have had no issues by turning it off that I have found. But that's me. I am doing a test run and recording every mission so I can try and prove or disprove the dialogue camera once and for all. Since no one can give me a real and straight forward answer short of @kinggath and he's a little busy. But I once and for all want to know the actual answer to the dialogue camera. I am sick of all the conjecture and want a straight answer. Yeah I never took, "Cause I sad so" from my parents as an answer either.
