Question what haapeens to unused mats in ammo factory

as the title says if the ammo factory producer has items in it (not the bullets) when im in a settlement and then i leave what happens to that stuff?

They sit there until you return to the settlement and it starts making bullets again.

I'll probably be making some adjustments to that plant in the future and folding it into kinggath's Advanced industrial tree, I'll tweak how it functions to be more in line with kinggath's plant at that time.
