What companions will you put in charge of which settlements?

Just want to start a fun thread getting people’s ideas for which companions you’ll send where.

I’m going to try and follow a theme of putting the most appropriate companion for the location. So...:

Preston - The Castle
Codsworth - Sanctuary
Curie - Greygarden
Hancock - The Slog

Hmm, the rest are tougher.
Maybe...

MacCready - Hangman’s Alley. Possibly Abernathy farm since he is a farmer back home


Will you be following any plans/themes or will you just be throwing the companions around randomly?

Abernathy: Blake Abernathy
Graygarden: Codsworth
Bunker Hill: Kessler
The Slog: Wiseman
Warwick Homestead: June or Roger Warwick
Mechanist's Lair: Ada
Longfellow's Cabin: You won't need 3 guesses
The Castle: Preston
Jamaica Plain: Everyones favourite ghoul
Boston Airport: Ex-Paladin Danse
Starlight Drivein (Mercer Safehouse): Deacon
Hangman's Alley: Piper (so she isn't far from Nat)

Piper was the only one that i had give me the "i dont want to lead here" message. And, it was at Red Rocket.
I've had all of mine assigned for a while now and they are as follows:
Preston - Castle
Cait - Greentop
Codsworth - Sanctuary
Curie - Red Rocket
Danse - Tenpines
Deacon - Sunshine Tidings
Hancock - The Slog
Macready - Abernathy
Piper - Oberland
Strong - Somerset
X6-88 - Warwick
Ada - Graygarden

depending on how far along in the story you are, piper may not actually be a "true" companion in some sense

Everyone keeps saying they'll put Preston at the castle, but I plan on leaving him on Spectacle Island wearing that stupid horse armor bethesda keeps giving away. I'm not even going to build up a settlement. Just a broken toilet and a sleeping bag. That's all he deserves.

At least once you do the castle quest, he stays on whatever job you put him on, which is more than anybody can say for murphy (until you take her off the drugs) and Marcy Long (until you shoot her)

I'll probably re-instate Codsworth, Nick, and maybe Deacon at multiple settlements over and over. Definitely Preston for the Castle. Although I'm tempted to appoint Strong as the city leader for every settlement, just for the laughs.

I took a screenshot of this and filed it away for when that feature arrives. They are already in charge, so it's a given. Rise of the Incumbents!

(Although I also like the idea of Sturges at Red Rocket.)

Which made me think. It should probably be Supervisor White in charge at Graygarden so Codsworth is still available
